BRIANNA
“The King will like to see us before we depart,” Layla said. Her voice seems to be a bit calm. It didn't have the usual smug or anger in it anymore.
“What for?” I asked her, “aren't we just part of his protection details?” I asked her.
“You are more than that, Brianna,” Layla said. “Including you too, Trisha,” she walked away and we walked closer behind her until we got to the King and his Beta's.
“Your Majesty,” the three of us bowed with me in the middle.
“Rise,” he said. I rose and looked him straight in the eye. This is the man who murdered my parents yet I'm being assigned to him as protection.
I looked through my side eye, and Trish looked stiff. She couldn't bring herself to look at him. I could feel the hate oozing from her.
“I want you to know, following me isn't an order but rather a request,” he is sounding odd as well. A bit calm, like Layla.
“I have reasons to believe my Luna is being held captive in Castillo camp,” I looked at him, then at Layla. Something isn't adding up.
“While I'm making small talks with Castillo, you three will need to scan the area and also minds as well,” he said and I sighed heavily.
“Brianna,” he walked towards me. My left foot was one step behind but he stopped me and held my shoulder.
“Don't be scared. I know this is your first war, but you are stronger than a whole army just like your Mother was,” he said and my hands turned into a fist.
He looked at my hands and at me, “I'm sorry, if I bring back bad memories,” he said and I looked down.
“No, apology needed, your majesty,” I bowed slightly. He brought me up and planted a kiss on my forehead. He did the same for Trish and Layla. What is happening?
“We move out!” He yelled and got into his vehicle with his Beta.
“This way, your grace,” Akire said, using her body to shield me. Her sister was with Trish, and someone else with Layla.
I got to the vehicle to see Liam already waiting inside. “Come on,” he said and I hopped in.
“Where are we going?” I asked him.
“The middle, where my grandfather killed Castillo's father,” he said and I sighed. This is going to be a huge war.
I adjusted the scarf on my head, trying very hard to not to reveal my face.
“Here, let me help,” Liam said, holding my hands. He adjusted his gun and balanced the scarf well.
I tried very hard not to look at him. I didn't want to lose myself in those eyes of his. I'm heading straight into an unknown situation. I need my focus.
“Looks like you have done this before,” I managed to say and he nodded.
“Use to help my Mother with hers whenever she has one on,” he said and I nodded.
“How did your father know about your Mother?” I asked him. He looks outside of the vehicle.
“Liam, I asked you a question,” I said to him.
“We are here,” he said as the vehicle stopped. I got out to see two large sheds in the middle of the battlefield.
I could sense some wolves in the first shed and the other one empty. I'm guessing that's ours.
“Are you ready for this?” Liam asked me.
“No,” I said, trying to be brave.
“Good, it means you will know what to do,” he said and walked away. Standing beside his father.
“He will be alright, your grace,” Akire said to me. “His Highness knows how to protect himself.”
“Honestly, Akire, that's exactly what I'm scared of,” I said to her as we walked towards our own shed.
We all sat down after some of the witches performed some rituals on the chairs for protection.
Then I saw Castillo. He sat on his throne trying to make himself feel powerful. From the look here, he isn't even close. Yes, he might be built and all that but the King is way muscular.
His eyes show hatred and anger but other than that he doesn't have anything.
A man walked towards the middle of both sheds and brought out a scroll, “this meeting is called by King Castillo,” he said and I scoffed.
I might hate his Majesty right now but at least he gave his crown a very good title. The Highest Alpha King.
“To avenge the death of his Father and to take what's rightfully his,” the man turned into a wolf and howled.
“Wow, Damon, you brought a lot of power,” Castillo said, standing up. I looked at Trish and she shrugged her shoulders. The King's name is Damon
“So did you Castillo,” the King responded but didn't get up from his seat.
“You are speaking before a King you stand!” Castillo yelled.
“You are already doing that,” I could feel the King's smirk on his face. Castillo looks at him with anger.
“I can see you only brought one son,” he said, looking at Liam. I was about to adjust myself on my chair when Akire stopped me.
“They must not see you show emotions, your grace,” she whispered.
“Wow,” Castillo said. “I expected a bit of emotion, especially from your wife-to-be,” he said to Liam. “I hear she is beautiful and also very powerful.”
Liam's face was expressionless, so was Ethan and Mason.
“Where is she, is she here?” He moved towards us but one of the witches blew a witch wind towards him and he stopped walking.
“I will make sure you die first,” she said to her.
“I'm ready to die for my King,” she said, firmly without flinching.
He clicked his tongue loudly and faced the King, “let's set the terms of this war,” he said and sat down on his throne.
“I win and I take over everything including your head and your son's heads on a pike,” he said and I swallowed hard, quietly.
“Do you accept this deal?” He asked the King.
“Yes, I accept,” I looked at Akire and then at Trish. Why will the King accept for his son's to be killed?
“Just as I am five times the man you are, my son's are five times the men your son's will ever be,” King Damon said to Castillo. His fangs came out of his fingers and he scratched his throne.
“That's not all the terms,” he said and moved his fingers. Suddenly a huge box was brought before us. It opened and a woman was in it. She looks like the portrait I saw of Liam's Mom.
“Take her away,” Castillo said and the box was moved. “You see I haven't had her on my bed. I have only used her for things that needed to be done,” he said.
“Once I win. I will have her,” he said, smirking.
“You son of a bitch,” the King charged at him.
“Now!” Castillo yelled and there was a huge bang and darkness.
