70!

LIAM

“Get down here, Thane and let's see if your father can save you!” My voice echoed through the valley.

“You need to stop baiting him, can't you see the fire,” Brianna said, pointing at the soldiers holding a branch of a tree with fire on it.

“The body will be burnt and he won't make it to the other world,” Layla said and I nodded.

“What do you expect me to do?” I asked both of them.

“Listen to them, Liam,” my Mom said suddenly.

“Fine,” I said with gritted teeth. “What do you want us to do?” I asked.

“We need to bait them,” Brianna said and I cast a glare.

“But you just said…”

“Not just Thane, all of them,” she said, cutting me off.

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“We need to create a cover while the bomb is being diffused but not totally just enough for it to be stable.”

“But they will be blown up,” Mason said.

“No, they won't. Castillo's men will. She said and bent down.

“Go over to the others,” she said to Layla and Trisha. She turned to the witches with us.

“Create a charade, a strong one,” she ordered them. “Make it look like we are retreating but the King, Queen and Beta's are still on the bomb.”

“That's a lot of energy and power, Brianna,” I said to her.

“It's a good plan, Brianna. You are an innovative thinker like your parents,” Mother smiled at her.

“Do what she says,” my mom said. “I will give you all a boost.”

“No,” Layla said, suddenly. “You are still weak.”

“We are in a war zone, Layla. I need to help. Get over Beta Chris,” Mother said to her.

I sighed deeply, I understood why Layla didn't want Mother to help. We just got her back, losing her again could be more than terrifying.

“We need to find my brother,” I said to Mason and Ethan. “Order a search party,” they both nodded.

Brianna whispered to herself and my heart skipped. “This has to work, Brianna,” I said to her.

“I know that, Liam. If it doesn't work I will be responsible for their death. Not you, so give me some space,” I raised my hands up and took a couple steps back.

“How long will this take?” My father asked her.

“Shouldn't be long your majesty,” she said as she closed her eyes.

“Are you ready?” She asked, Layla and Trisha, they just nodded.

“You didn't tell them,” my voice trailed off as I heard a click. The next sound was supposed to be an explosion but nothing happened.

Brianna rushed over to Beta Desmond and did whatever she did with the bomb. There was a huge sigh of relief around us.

“What's next?” I asked, Brianna.

“Now, we retreat. You should go up with the snipers,” she said and I shook my head.

“No, there is no way I'm leaving either of you down here.” I said and they all nodded.

“Liam, they are moving towards this place at full speed!” Ethan yelled and we all raced towards the forest.

“Is the charade still working?” I asked Brianna as we raced towards the forest.

“Yes, I'm in control of it now,” she said and I gave her a puzzled look.

She didn't look like she's in control of anything. At least not like the way the other witches were looking. How powerful is she? I have never really thought about it.

We got to the forest hideout and watched as Castillo and his men moved closer to our ambush.

“Now?” Brianna asked.

“No, they should be closer,” I said.

“The shadow is with them, it will know soon that's is a charade,” she said, firmly.

“Now!” I yelled and she dropped the charade. The look on both Castillo and Thane's face was priceless. I bet they never expected to be played this way.

“Ambush!” One of their men yelled but it was too late as Brianna released the bomb.

One by one, they all disappeared with blood and gut splashing everywhere.

“Yes!” Our soldiers yelled in victory. “Yes, we won!”

“No, we haven't,” Brianna said with her hands on the ground. “More troops.”

“Snipers get them,” I said and watched Brianna walk towards Castillo's camp.

“No, this is her fight,” My mom stopped me from going to her. It was the shadow.

She turned into her wolf form and charged at it. She glowed in her white and gold color. There hasn't been a white and gold wolf in decades.

“She's beautiful,” I whispered.

“She's our greatest strength,” my Mom said, looking at my father. They looked at each other with so much love.

There was a huge wave with lights in it, I couldn't see Brianna until the lights came down.

She fell to the ground in her wolf form. “Go to her,” my mother said. “Hold her.”

I raced towards the battlefield and held Brianna, caressing her body until she turned.

“That was amazing,” I said to her and she smiled.

“Is he gone?” I asked her, referring to the shadow.

“Forever, Liam, forever,” she said, weakly. “Why about the King and Queen?” She asked and suddenly Layla screamed.

“No!” I heard an arrow pass through my head and headed to the forest. I got Brianna up and we both raced back to the forest.

“What.. happened?” My voice failed me as I saw my father and mother with an arrow on their chest.

I turned to where I stood with my mother earlier and one of my men also had an arrow on his chest.

“This shot was for me,” I said, pointing at him. I'm supposed to be dead right now.

There are only two people in the creature world that can make a shot like this and that is Adrian and I.

“This is Adrian,” I said, and walked out of the forest. “Scan the whole valley!” I yelled at the snipers.

“You don't know that it is him,” Brianna said, walking behind me.

“There are only two people that can make that kind of shot in the creature world, Brianna. And that is my brother and I,” I said, walking away.

“We need to figure out the next plan,” she said and I stopped. “Everyone is waiting for you.”

I looked up to see all the soldiers on attention waiting for me to say something but that isn't what they are waiting for.

“Liam,” he held my hands, I looked away. Nobody must see me cry. They can't see me cry.

“Let him go, Brianna,” I heard Trisha and Beta Desmond voices beside her.

“He has to do this Bri, alone,” Trish said to her.

I turned and raced towards the hill where my previous sniper caller's body was placed on a stake.

I got him down and raced back towards the forest. I turned into my skin and handed him to Beta Chris.

"Take care of him," I said, my voice cracking.

Beta Chris nodded, his eyes filled with sympathy.

"We'll make sure he's honored, Liam."

I turned to face my soldiers, my heart heavy with grief.

"My father, the King, and my mother, the Queen, have fallen," I announced, my voice steady.

A collective gasp echoed through the forest.

"We will not rest until we avenge their deaths," I declared.

The soldiers roared in agreement.

"Brianna, take command of the witches," I ordered.

She nodded, her eyes shining with determination.

"Mason, Ethan, gather our strongest warriors," I instructed.

They nodded, already moving to assemble the team.

"Trisha, Beta Desmond, secure the perimeter," I said.

They nodded, taking their positions.

I turned to Beta Chris.

"Prepare the funeral rites for my parents."

He nodded, his face somber.

As I surveyed my soldiers, I knew I had to be strong.

For them, for my family's legacy, and for justice.

"Adrian," I whispered to myself.

You're going to pay for what you've done.

I walked into Castillo's royal tent that has a hole in it because of the explosion.

I looked around the display he had in it. A lot of heads of molested animals, including humans he has killed.

Castillo was a savage and a ruthless killer. His son as well was no different. I turned my hands into a fist.

I shouldn't have let him get blown up. I should have baited him and made him fight me. Then I would have killed him with my bare hands.

As I walked around the tent I saw the box my mother was brought to us in. I walked towards it and smelt it. I could still feel her presence in it and smell her.

“Haa!” I yelled, the whole tent vibrated, shaking the ground to the core. We just got her back. I have never seen my father smile the way he did when he saw her.

Adrian killing them was probably a last resort, if he couldn't get Castillo and his army to kill us and invade our kingdom. He was going to do it himself.

I took out the lighter from my pocket and threw it at the tent. I stood in the middle as I let the tent burn around me.

The whole thing fell to the ground but the fire didn't burn me. I opened my eyes to see the whole valley filled with my people, everyone who is still alive at least in this war.

There were all on their knees bowing to their new Highest Alpha King. Me.

I looked at Brianna, who looked at me with pride in her eyes. She wasn't bowing down because she is the new queen.

I am the Highest Alpha King and she is my Luna.
