Chapter 52

My hearing was assaulted by a strange beeping noise, one that was constant and unrelenting. I groaned, unable to move my body as every muscle screamed at me to stay still, to ignore my need to get up and go. I peeled my eyes open to see a white room, wires attatched to my arms and chest.
where am I ? I wondered as I looked around, noticing nothing that I would recognise.
"we are in some sort of hospital." Came Nyx's grouchy voice, her growls snapping me out of whatever fog I had been trapped in.
"Oh thank the goddess, Nyx you are here!" I cried, actual tears slipping from my eyes. "I've been so lost without you."
"I was suppressed but I knew you were there, I've been trying to contact you." She whisper, as though someone might over hear us.
"I've been trying to reach you too, but I couldn't. They injected us with silver and wolfsbane."
"we need to get out of here Annalise, that man is cruel."
"but how? I can barley move. Everything hurts so bad Nyx, it's like I'm on fire." I cry, silent tears slipping from my eyes.
"I don't know yet, but we can't stay here. Drax may be our mate but he does not deserve us."
I look around the white room, "Nyx I'm afraid, I've tried to be strong as you taught me, but I am so scared."
she howls sorrowfully in my head. "I can't help you, I'm still weak, we have no power right now Annalise. We may as well be human."
"what can we do?" I ask.
"I'll think of something, I just need some time." She replies, going silent whilst she tries to find a way out of this.
I jumped when the door opens, causing pain to shoot down my back, a whimper escaping my clenched jaw. Drax walked into the room, saying nothing to me as he looked through a folder, his face contorted with concentration.
after a few minutes he places the folder to one side and finally looks at me, his face free of all emotion. "I see you are awake, you have kept me waiting for you for three days Red."
I frown, he's blaming me for him ordering me to get shipping to the point where I past out? This beast is crazy.
"I didn't do it on purpose." I murmur, my voice cold and scratchy.
He moved to sit in the chair that is beside the bed, "You have got quite the reputation among my people now, even the biggest of men scream when they are struck with that whip. But not you, you barley made a sound. My people are calling you special, saying you will be a strong Luna." He smiles softly. "I must say that I agree with them, you are going to give me some strong pups."
"we will never be his Luna." Nyx growls within my head, her voice filled with venom. "Tell him Annalise, we are not his."
"I won't bare you any children and I certainly won't become your Luna." I snap, baring my teeth at him.
"you can argue with me all you want red, it won't change the fact that you are mine." He shakes his head, leaning back in his chair. "The doctor will be here shortly to check how your healing."
I try to move again, my muscles screaming as I sit up, using the sheet to cover my naked body. I wince as I throw my legs off the edge of the bed and pull all the wires off, including the needle that was pumping fluids into me.
"what are you doing?" Drax growls when the machine starts beeping, rising to his feet. "You can't keep disobeying me Red, you are mine to command!"
"I belong to no one but myself." I snap at him, rising to my feet and turning to leave.
He grabs my wrsit and pulls me towards him. "I haven't said you can leave."
"let me spell this out for you alpha Drax, you do not own me and you NEVER will." I snarl, the room beginning to shake and tremble as my power surfaces.
Nyx laughs in my head as Drax takes a step back, clearly nervous or scared as my power only rises, the windows shattering and the floor cracking. I hold my hands out, calling upon my gift and I throw the alpha into the wall, his body crumbling into the ground.
The door swings open and Christian comes rushing in with a tranquiliser gun, my eyes going wide as he points it at me, I throw him back into the hall, but not before he got a shot off, the dart landing in my leg.
I relasieing quickly that I am running out of time, soon I would pass out and be unable to protect myself, I needed to leave now.
I stumbled towards the door, growling when arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me back into the room. My body sags slightly, my eyes blurring.
"Nyx I failed."
"we'll have another chance, don't worry. Rest now."
I close my eyes as collapse against Drax, his words following me into the black. "Looks like you are more powerful than I thought."
