Chapter 79

I was lost in my rage by the time alexander and Zane entered the room, everything in the air, smashing against the walls and the floors, my heart broken and swollen with hatred. The windows had exploded out and the shards were all over the floor, the walls cracking under the extent of my power.
"Annalise, you need to calm down!" Zane shouted over the chaos, hanging back by the door.
"How dare Balthazar do this?! Take my mate!" I scream, the walls cracking and breaking away.
"come on love, you are ok, we will work this out." Alexander sooths, holding his hands out in surrender.
my feet lifted from the ground, my body suspended in the air as my wolf screamed along with me, hurting from the loss of our mate. It was our job as the Red wolf to protect them. Nyx growled and snarled, furious that Balthazar would do such a thing, she wanted revenge and so did I.
I couldn't believe he would do this, how was I supposed to calm down when Dean was suffering? How was I supposed to be on with this?
"Annalise please calm down!" Zane shouts, and I can almost smell his fear, the entire house quaking.
"think of the babies!" Alex bellows, taking an unsteady step into the room.
"they have Dean! They are going to hurt him!" I cry, tears falling from my eyes as I slowly go back down, my feet landing on the floor seconds before I collapse.
Alexander rushes towards me, followed closely by Zane. "I know darling, I know. We'll get him back."
"we promise we'll do all we can." Zane adds, stoking my hair as Alexander pulls me onto his lap.
"How did this even happen?!" I sob, burrying my head in Alex's shoulder.
"we don't know, he's a tricky one that warlock. He's more prepared than we could have imagined." Alex sighs, stroking my back. "We'll do what we can to get Dean back, but in the meantime you need to remain calm."
"yeah love, you can't just destroy our home." Zane chuckles, but I could tell he was nervous about what happened.
"I'm sorry." I cry, "I didn't mean to lose control like that, I've been thinking all day that Dean left us out of his own choice and when I got the note I flipped out."
"it's ok darling, it's ok." Alex sooths, pulling me closer. "I can understand why you felt the way that you did, today was supposed to be a nice day. We found out the sex of our children."
"I know. I didn't mean to ruin the living room." I sigh, finally calming down. "You can fix it right?"
"we'll get someone on it right away." Zane nods, indicating to Alexander that we should leave the destroyed room. "Let's get her to bed."
alexander lifts me into his arms, cradling me against his chest as though I was the most precious thing in the world to him. Zane following close behind.
Yet, I couldn't help but think of Dean and what he was going through, how did they even capture him without anyone noticing? Surely someone must have seen something?
Nyx sighs within me, "we know Balthazar better than anyone, if he wants something, he takes it and no one will stop him."
"we'll stop him." I reply, cuddling closer to my mate.
"How do you suppose we do that?" She laughs slightly, knowing well more than likely lose.
"we can do it Nyx, we have enough power to take him out for good. He won't torture another wolf ever again if we succeed."
"that's if we get help from the other packs, we can't do it all alone."
"they'll help." I say with confidence, "it's about the future of every wolf, not just us. Surely they'll see that."
alexander lays me down on the bed we all share, moving to lay next to me, "I won't leave you, not when we don't know how Dean was taken." He promises, kissing my head.
zane appears on the other side of me, "I won't leave you either, we are in this together."
"thank you." I smile softly. "I love you both."
"we love you too darling." Alex smiles, kissing me once again.
