Chapter 67

I walked into the room with my power present, I wasn't going to look weak in front of my old master, I wanted him to know that I had changed, I wasn't the same weak she-wolf that he remembered. I was so much more now.
I took a seat in the chair directly across from him, crossing my legs as I learnt back, showing him that I wasn't afraid. I wouldn't allow him to intimidate me any longer, I was a free wolf and if he thought for one moment he could walk in here and take me back; he is dead wrong.
I'll be going nowhere with Balthazar, but depending on what he has to say, I'll do my best to make sure that he doesn't leave here alive.
if it comes down to it, I'll attempt to kill him. I won't be a slave again, I would rather die than live that life again.
but right now I had my children to think of, I had to be careful, I couldn't risk my unborn Cubs to be hurt. I would do whatever it takes to keep them safe.
"if I would have known prior to your arrival I would have organised a lunch for you, Balthazar. Please do let me know next time." I say in a measured tone, faking a polite smile.
he frowns, realising I won't bend so easily as I used to. "I shouldn't need to arrange to see what is mine, you still belong to me Annalise. Your being here doesn't change that."
"that is where you are wrong, I'm not yours anymore. I have built a life here, I have mates who love me." I pause, rubbing my stomach. "I'm expecting our first children."
Balthazar's frown deepens into a scowl, his tone harshening. "You allowed these pathetic beasts to defile you?!"
"I let my mates use my body for pleasure." I correct him, my tone bitter and cold. "It is my body and I will do as I wish with it."
I can see hun slowly losing his composure, the sick and tieisted plan he had in his head no longer plausible. He was realising that he couldn't control me with words anymore, he could see that I had come a long way.
I wasn't his anymore.
he adjusts his tie, clearing his throat. "We are getting off track, I came here to take you home." He says, "you have been away for too long, it's time to come back."
I lean back into my seat, crossing my arms. "And what makes you think that I will agree to go with you?"
"I am your master. I OWN you." He snarls, his fingers curling into the arms of the chair.
I laugh, throwing my head back before I lock eyes with my tormenter. "correction, you were my master. I left. I came to find a better life and I did. I am happy here and I will be going no where with you."
"what makes you think that I will give you a choice? I came here attempting to be nice, you are mine to take and if you don't come willingly I will take you by force."
"you will?" I ask, tilting my head to the side, "well don't let me stop you, but know this; I will not go willingly and I know what I am now, I am the Red wolf." I pause, a sinister smile crossing my features. "And let me tell you something else. I have my powers. I can go against you."
"You've certainly gotten brave, but do you really think you can beat me? You'd be risking the lives of everyone here, including your children." He smirks, thinking that he has won. "if you come with me now, I'll let you keep the abominations inside of you, if you don't, I will kill them as soon they leave your body."
I rise to my feet, looking bored. "I think we are done here, I will be going nowhere with you. So do your worst, I'm ready to fight for what I want and if that means risking everything I have; I'll do it." I use my power to make the room shake and tremble. "I'm ready to face you Balthazar, but are you ready to face me?"
the room around us quivers under my power, the windows shattering as I growl, allowing Nyx to come forward slightly; my eyes darkening.
Balthazar jumps to his feet, holding his hands up in surrender. "It seems like we are done here, for now. But make no mistake Annalise, I will be back and next time; I won't leave empty handed."
"We'll be ready for you." Nyx snarls through me, using all of our strength to imidate our old master.
balthazar uses his portal, escaping before I can do any damage to him, my heart thumping recklessly in my chest.
I did it.
I stood up to him, told him I would never be his again.
I flop back into the chair, breathing a sigh of relief, he was gone, I had scared him away with a brief show of what I could do.
my children and I were safe.
for now.
