Plan set to work
Chapter twenty
Jayde
I tap my feet anxiously as the car pull into a huge house. Gold, marbles, nice frames.
This is the house of Henry. I'm sure this house is worth billions.
The chauffeur moves to my side of the car and opens the door.
I stare at him for a while, afraid that he might hear the hard beating of my heart.
I look out at the garden. Unconsciously, I let out a sigh.
I was ushered in as if I have a business deal with the executives. I'm not going to say this now but I will, later.
I'm going to get my hymen broken, I don't need anyone to remind me of that every time as if I'm about to do something momentum.
I walk inside the living room. It's spacious and there's a big TV on the wall, chairs well arranged. The purplish wall compliment the design.
The chandelier and the AC! Gosh! Henry is really Ayles' billionaire.
Four maids are standing by aside. The guy leading me has suddenly retreated. I find myself standing and staring foolishly at the maids.
After some minutes of having a staring competition, a maid looks up, "I will lead you to the master's bedroom."
I sigh. Again?
Then, I remember the plan I have secretly hatched out. I can put it into use and stop myself from this stress.
"Ok, lead the way," I say and she walks forward. I look at others, "Someone should get me an alcoholic wine," I drag my legs after the other girl.
We walk up the stairs and find ourselves in another hallway.
I watch her move to a door by her right. She opens and looks back at me.
I walk nearer, "When is my husband coming home?"
"I don't know but he called to inform us that he would stay late."
I smile. It seems like I'm not the only one that doesn't want this marriage to happen.
"Can I get sleeping pills? Hard ones?"
She nods slowly, "I can fetch one for you if you want so."
I smile and walk inside the room. I gasp unconsciously as I stare at the spacious room. This is even breathtaking.
I walk to the bed, which is king-size. I sit on it.
When will my properties arrive? Or am I going to be stuck in a gown while I plan my escape plan?
It doesn't matter, as far as I'm able to escape here successfully.
I kind of remember my first and second kiss. I can't believe I had them with Henry.
Gosh! I'm so not thinking straight.
A knock sounds on my door, "Yes, walk-in."
Three maids walk in, one with champagne, the other with another wine, and the last one with a tray of what I don't know.
They drop them on the dresser and walk out.
I move to the tray and open the cover. It's a sandwich.
I pour some content of the champagne into a cup. I sip it and smile at the sweetness.
What a life of luxury I will be leaving behind tomorrow. What a pity but it's high time I started enjoying my life. I and my mother.
My one million dollars will go a long way in my life.
A soft knock and the maid I had sent sleeping pills walks in.
I raise my head and behold her for a moment, "Come closer," I feign drunkenness. She walks closer and stretches out the pills.
I smile again and collect it. I drop them all in the champagne beside me. I mix it well before pouring it into the two glasses of wine before me.
I take up and stretch it out, "Take."
The lady's eyes went wide, "Ma but."
I shake my head at her rejection, "This is my wedding night but I shouldn't be the only one to enjoy it. I like you is why I want us to enjoy it both.'
"But you've drugged it," her brows are still raised amazingly.
I take the other cup of wine and sip in small quantities, "See? I only added a small quantity."
"No, Mistress."
I frown at her, "Are you saying I'm drunk!" I scream at her, making her jerk up in fear.
I stretch the wine cup to her again and she accepts it immediately.
I watch her gulp the content down. I take mine and intentionally release my hold around it. The cup drops to the floor and scatters into several pieces.
The lady turns around, "I should clean it up."
"No! Come back! We will do it later," I take the other champagne and gulp it down my throat.
Pretending I'm drunk is the easiest. Pretending to be Hattie is the hardest, yet I was able to pull off the string. How more this?
"Come! Celebrate with me!" I pour my champagne into her cup. She gulps it down quickly with a smile across her face.
I drop the bottle of champagne and rush for the second one. I pour it onto her cup. I made sure I pour her several more before I collapse on the bed and pretend to be asleep.
I open my eyes briefly and watch her force her eyes open. She stands and beholds the shattered glasses.
She bent to do something, then stands up again, clearly confused about what she should do.
She sighs and finally bends to pick up the cup. She closes his eyes and went down.
I open my eyes and smile at the sight.
My plan is going so fine. Thanks to Henry for coming late.
I take the blanket and cover her with it.
I don't need to place her on the bed. Leaving her in this position will give Henry lots of work.
I walk out of my room, quickly, scared that Henry might arrive at any time.
I enter the living room and the knob of the main door switches.
My eyes widen and my heartbeat accelerates.
What if it's Henry? We might anyway start our honeymoon right on this spot.
I turn away, so I will walk back upstairs.
The pounding of my heart didn't even allow me to think properly. I'm so scared.
