Honeymoon afresh

Chapter forty-four
Henry
She let out a sign and went quiet for a while.
I wonder what is going on in her head"Do you promise not to disclose our current relationship with anyone if I do it?"
I smile and look at her for a moment, " I won't, I promise," I say softly.
It's not like I want to tell anyone anything anyway. It just seems funny to me.
Her eyes thin, and her lower lip went into her mouth as she beholds me for a moment. She suddenly stretches out her hand.
I chuckle and catch it midway. I pull her to me instead. I delve into my pocket for my phone and take a picture quickly.
I release her and stare into the picture. It looks cool sincerely.
I turn to look at her. She claps the towel to her body as if there's someone close by that wants to rip it off her.
"You should get dressed," I say and walk out of the room.
I send the picture to dad and put a call through to him immediately.
He picked up after the second ring. I walk into the sitting room and take my seat.
"Have you seen the picture?"
He grunt as if he wasn't expecting it. He's looking for all ways to make sure I don't return to the office for a while.
Or maybe he and Mom are already fighting currently.
Those two acts like marriage are sweet and full of honey but beneath, it's not.
I've witnessed both fights, and quarrel for months. Something that does affect me.
With the way dad cheats and doesn't care, it makes me think marriage isn't something we should go into.
Most times, whenever mom offends him and would refuse to apologize.
Jeez! They used to be so annoying. After many days of crying and begging God to settle their difference, I ended up promising myself not to have a wife.
It comes with this great deal of work.
There will be lots of responsibility, excuses, explanations and problems. I was just not fit for it until dad made it compulsory for me. Most times, he's always annoying.
"Yes, I have. Good work."
I grin wider, "So, just know I will be resuming work tomorrow.'
"Which tomorrow? You must be dreaming."
"What are you talking about?" I fire back, unsure of what he's babbling about.
"Your honeymoon starts tomorrow and will end in a week's time. Have fun with your wife," he says softly as if it was no such deal.
I feel a quick surge of anger, "You said I will be able to resume work if I can find her. And I've found her. Why are you telling me something else?"
" If you don't want to listen to me, you can think of getting yourself a new business," he says and hangs up before I could say much.
Is he seriously kidding me?
I must speak with him at this moment. Gosh, I don't believe he can't go back on his word like that.
I dial the number again but he didn't pick up. I did for the second time until the realization hits in
My dad is avoiding me? Seriously, it's annoying.
Gosh! I don't believe he's ignoring my call now.
I dial mom's line and she picks up immediately.
"Mom, where's your husband?'
" He's at work, where else?"
"Tell him not to give me shit. He should change his mind this instance."
" Hey! Stop talking to your father like that."
The funniest thing about their relationship is that you can't just put your mouth into it unless you were called.
When I was fifteen, after an heat-up argument between my mom and dad, I tried to make her feel better by saying soothing words to her.
She blatantly told me not to ever do it again. I could do all thing but I mustn't try to get in between them.
I was like, are you kidding me? Why would I even try to get in between them?
In one word, these two are annoying. And that's the second reason why I don't ever want to get married.
"Just tell him I'm not going for any honeymoon. I'm not even in the mood to do something like that! Tell him I will find myself another work to do if he's adamant about his."
My mom sighs, " Hey Henry, wait for a minute. Why don't you tell me what really happened."
" Mom, I'm not in the mood," I stand and head upstairs, " We will talk later."
I walk inside my room and throw the phone against the wall.
Gosh! I feel so angered.
So, I'm supposed to start the honeymoon over?
Was I the one that made it stop?
It was Jayde that left herself. Gosh, I don't believe all this is happening to me.
What should I do?
