He's kidding right?

Chapter twenty-five
I let out a sigh, unable to decide what to do. My head is reeling and I can't even think properly.
I don't believe I'm going to be forced to stay in this house after breaking my hymen forcefully.
God, I should get a knife, stab him and kill myself. I should get out the end to it all.
"Why are you doing this?" My voice shrink to a near whisper, I couldn't control my voice. God! I feel like going wild.
His looks were innocent, "Do what?" As if he doesn't know what I'm getting furious about. He's the most sly man I have ever seen. And so dubious and so tacky.
I blink away the tears and look away briefly, "Why is the door locked?"
Henry sighs and looks back at the TV, " It's our honeymoon and we should enjoy it to the fullest."
" I need to go somewhere," I say, my voice pleading.
" I'm sorry, I can't allow that," he says as a matter of factly. He crosses his legs and switches the channel.
I feel the anger starts building up in me again. He's very annoying.
"What's a bride looking for the second day of her wedding day, dressed like this," he turns to look at me, his look sly, " People might think I chased you out of the damn house."
I think I understand what he meant. I mean it doesn't even make any sense that a bride will do that. But, I really need to leave. I need to see Mercy so I will switch places with Hattie.
I need to go back to my life.
I look at him again and decide to try again, "Henry, please. I need to go somewhere, it's really urgent," I beseech softly.
He didn't look at me and he didn't answer me.
I move to obstruct him from what he's watching perhaps he would consider me.
He let out a sigh and drop the remote control with him. He didn't look angry or frustrated like I think he would.
He stands and is made to move away. I rush to block him again but lose my footing.
I thought I was going to fall. I was going down until Henry's hand wraps around my waist, pulling me closer to his chest.
My eyes went wide as I watch him. His touch on my body sent a shiver down my spine.
I remember kissing him yesterday and I seriously want to do so again.
My body aches to be cover-up by him. What is this feeling I'm having?
"Why are you always falling?" His eyes were laughing even though he held a straight face.
I cough and jerk-free from him anxiously.
"Please," I remember why I was begging him earlier, "I have to go somewhere."
"Hattie, you still don't get what this is about. This is our honeymoon and we will spend it together. Even if we don't want to, we must deceive everyone that we did."
" Just keep calm and wait. You will be able to go around with your business after one week," he says quietly as if he was scared of letting others know about us.
He gives me a last dangerous stare before walking away.
I sigh unconsciously. What does he mean by we?
Does that mean he doesn't want this marriage? Of course, that's what he meant.
Then that means he couldn't have had sex with me. He doesn't even love me. And as far as I'm concerned, he doesn't even want this marriage.
OMG! Henry just tricked me! I don't believe he lied. Does he think he's funny?
I laugh out, and I feel the weight on my head is lifted.
I must confront him. I walk up the stairs and open the door wide.
He's on the bed, pressing his laptop.
I look at him, taking in his features.
He wasn"t a male model but he should have been. The lush, mother lode-gold hair he groomed so carefully had a rippling quality, a sign of his nonchalant attitude.
The aquiline nose he sported complemented his prominent cheekbones. He had manly, peppered stubble.
Handsome in an understated way, his basalt jaw and Spartan shoulders spoke of strength. He possessed a latent, leonine power and always walked with purpose and authority.
If I wasn't so worked up, or if I'm not pretending to be Hattie, I would have willingly given out myself to him.
But whatever happens between me and him, he would never see me as Jayde but Hattie. And for that reason, I won't give myself out.
"Done checking me out?" Henry's thick voice came out, startling me for a while. He didn't look up at me nor stop his work on his laptop.
I clear my throat and walk in, closing the door with a low slam.
"I wanted to talk about the other thing," I say slowly.
"I will never consider letting you out no matter how much you beg me," he reply tiredly, his attention all focused on whatever he's doing on his laptop.
I let out a sigh, "I wasn't talking about going out. I was talking about last night."
Henry looks up from his laptop, his expression blank, " What about it?"
"I know we didn't have sex. You are forced to be in this marriage. So, you wouldn't want to walk through the road," I point out ruefully.
He let his arms cross over the other, " yes, right. I didn't want this marriage to happen but our first night was bound to happen whether we like it or not. I had no choice but to have sex with you even if I don't love it."
I squeeze my face at him, " That's a lie! You wouldn't do that!"
He made to smile, then stop and smirk instead, "I just consider you as my wife last night and that was all."
I climb on the bed before him, " If you are so concerned about people knowing. How about we create a code to say express ourselves?" I smile at him and fold my hands into a ball of a fist before him.
"This means no. If my fingers are straight, that means yes."
He stare at me for a while and burst out laughing, "What sort of a code is that?"
I suddenly remember it's the code I use at work with Jayden. In one word, it's a code the masses use. That's why Henry doesn't know about it.
"Go ahead," I nod briefly at my fist.
He smiles and touches my hand slowly, then unclench it. He looks at me and shakes his head slowly, "Henry Carson never lie."
What! Does he mean he wasn't kidding me? He really did it?
I hold my hand over my face and scream out.
