Sparks of Love

Chapter sixty-four
Henry
I sigh for the umpteenth time today. I shouldn't have thought like that.
Jayde isn't Hattie so she must listen to Beatrice.
This is against her. No matter how much she would love to stop the divorce, she wouldn't be able to do so because she's not in control.
I was the one at fault. I should have taken a deep breath before telling Beatrice everything.
Now, I can't take it back in. And yet, I don't want Declan to have her.
Gosh, what should I do? I'm so disappointed in myself.
And it's so annoying. Will I be forced to sign the divorce papers?
No! I must find something else to do about it.
I will do whatever it takes to make her unable to change her mind.
I have today at most and then this night to make it right.
Gosh, I'm such an idiot.
I walk back to my room and pick up my phone.
Tonight's party is about my father and me. So, I and Jayde must dress well.
I dial Nicky's number. Nicky is the CEO of a popular boutique. She sells designer wear.
She picks up immediately, "Hi Henry, how have you been?"
I smile," I'm fine, and you?" I walk to the window and look down through it.
I wonder what Jayde is doing currently.
"I'm fine too. It has been a while since I've heard from you."
I turn away from the window side, "Yes, I've just been so occupied. I'm sure you heard the news."
"Yes, how is your wife now by the way?"
"She's very much fine," I nod briefly, "were you invited to my father's party?"
She went silent for a moment, "Yes, I was! I have forgotten, seriously. It's today right?"
I laugh. Nicky is always forgetting things. Sometimes I wonder if she should retire.
But she's already planning on creating more stores for her boutique. She's good anyways and she always likes to oversee all the activities. Maybe that's why she's always having issues with remembering some important things.
"Yes, it is. I will need some wear for me and my wife. A gown will be ok for her. You've seen her before so you should be able to know what color would match her. I want this dress in less than five hours."
"Alright. Don't you worry, I will be there soon. I will specifically bring her dress over so she can try a variety and determine which one she would go with. As for your blazer, I have four options in mind already. I will bring it along."
"Alright then, I will be expecting."
I hang up, just in time for a soft knock to reach my ear.
I drop the phone on the bed, "Yes, come in."
The door opens and Regina walks in with my breakfast. I had even forgotten I'm yet to eat now. I've been thinking so hard about Jayde.
"Good morning," she says and I nod out the answer.
I watch her place the tray on the dresser before she turns around again to walk out.
"Get Hattie her breakfast too. She's back ."
"Alright, sir."
I let her walk out before I open the dishes. It's pancakes with chocolate sauce and Maple syrup.
It's my best food.
What should I do now? Should I go to her room?
Without even thinking twice, I take my breakfast and walk out of my room.
I knock on her do slightly.
I hear a soft beckon me in. I open the door and step inside.
She's on the bed, her eyes closed but I know she's not sleeping.
She lay weirdly in a thinking position.
I walk closer and notice the dry tears on her face. She has been crying?
Oh My, Jayde!
I place the breakfast on the dresser and climb beside her on the bed.
"You can leave. I'm not so hungry," she says and turns around as if to hide the tears that have started coming out of her eyes again from whosoever she thought was in the room.
I stay still and continue to watch her. Her nose, her small mouth, her perfect brow.
Damn! I can't even stop my heat from breathing heavily while looking at this beauty.
She makes me want to do something I have sworn never to do.
And seriously, it's my resolution. It's what I'm eventually going to do.
She turns towards me again as if she can feel my presence. She opens her eyes slowly and they went wider ad darker with shock.
I smile and wink at her.
She sits up, "What are you doing?"
"I should be the one asking you that. You have been crying and you aren't even eating. Have you lost your baby?"
She went still for a while, "Baby?" She laughs, "I'm still a virgin. Jeez! I nearly believed that."
I smile and stretch out to take the tray. I place it in between us, "Let's share my breakfast but on one condition, we will share yours."
"What if I disagree?"
I pick a pancake and place it with the maple syrup and chocolate sauce, "Then I will have this to myself."
I chew and nod happily, "This is so delicious."
She watches and salivates.
I chuckle and stretch out the one in my hand to her. She collects and but into it "Yummy! It's so delicious," she bit into more, "I don't know always know the quality I'm supposed to add to the pancake. How do you know this?"
I flash her Charming smile, "I'm perfect. I'm good in all things."
She giggled, "I know," she finish up and stretch out her hand towards me.
I look away, "Do it yourself. I'm too busy to help you."
"Please!" She beseeches softly.
I turn away from her completely, still eating.
She jumps at me from behind and stretches to collect the pancake from my hand. I stretch out too, thereby making it impossible for her to get it.
She hugs me in the process, while still trying her best to get the pancake.
My heartbeat increased slowly, heat raised in me.
I need no one to tell me how much I feel for this lady.
