Reconciliation with my mom

Chapter thirty-five
Jayde
My hands shake under his. Despite this, I can also feel heat arise from the part he held. It runs through my body and causes a shudder.
He let go of my hand quickly, his eyes watching me, "Are you alright?"
I blink once, then twice. What does he mean by that? I thought he recognized me as Hattie.
"I wanted to tell you my orders but you've been walking past me," he says, giving me a confused look.
I take a deep breath and remember I'm putting on my face mask. He would never know it's me. Aside from that, there's no way Hattie will be working in a bar. Or is there?
"Oh, alright. Tell me then."
"For now, I will like a bottle of champagne and barbecue."
"I will be back," I whisper and ease myself back to Jayden, " A bottle of champagne and barbecue for Henry."
He drops the bucket of ice and puts in the bottle of champagne, "I'm really angry," he says and walks to get the barbecue.
I hurry to give him the champagne with a glass of wine. I can feel Henry's gaze on me as I made myself back to Jayden.
I take the barbecue but Jayden holds my hand suddenly, "Why don't you talk to him?" He says and looks past me.
I crane my neck towards Henry. I watch him sip the wine slowly. His gaze suddenly turns towards me and I quickly look back at Jayden, "No, I'm not doing that."
Jayden's face holds a funny, yet serious look, "I don't like the way you two are. I will like you to be back. I mean if he doesn't love you, he wouldn't be sitting alone like that. He should have Cara or others beside him."
He's right. He's alone which is strange. But well, Cara isn't around. If she is, he would have loved her company. He must not like other girls.
Well, who knows. Cara might be the girl he loves.
I take the plate of barbecue to him. I bow and make to walk away but his hand stops me.
I turn to look at him and he let me go slowly, "What's your name?"
What's he doing? Well, I'm not Hattie and that's the fact.
"Jayde."
He turns towards me amazingly, "Jayde Clinton?' he raises a brow at me.
My heart skip a beat as I watch him. What? Does he know me? I mean how did he know my name?
"But I thought you've stopped working?"
I shake slightly. What does he want from me exactly? Cant, he just let me be?
"But_," he started but a hand holds me by the waist and he stops talking.
I look up at Jayden.
"I'm sorry Mr. Henry but you are keeping her too long. She has others to attend to," he says and turns me around without waiting for a reply.
I take a deep breath as I walk back to my position.
"Thank you, Jayden," I tell him with so much happiness in my heart. I don't know what would have happened if he continued asking me questions.
"It's ok. I just don't like it. If you guys don't like each other, then you should file a divorce. You are a rich lady and you shouldn't be seen walking here."
I sigh and look away. Jayden will never understand. But what will happen to me if Hattie wakes up today? Do I think Ruth will continue to be so nice?
And well, it will cause a lot of problems for me.
It's either I leave this place by then or I change my identity. Gosh, I'm so scared of my future.
Even though, I'm still unable to forget him, to forget the kiss we've shared. Aside from that, we've also had sex even though I don't even remember it.
But there's a part of me that doesn't seem to be able to forget Henry. I look up at him and caught him staring. I look away quickly.
And for the rest of the night, I would feel Henry's gaze on me. Several times, I caught him staring and it's disturbing me.
Am I sure Henry doesn't know who I am? I mean he's nothing like Declan. Declan has seen me many times in this bar. So, it wasn't difficult for him to differentiate between us.
Getting home, Henry's thoughts filled my head. I just don't know why I'm unable to stop thinking about him. God! What have I gotten myself into?
When I open the door, mom was on the chair, her attention on the images on the TV.
I walk to her as I've made my decision to end everything with her once and for all. If she doesn't take me in, then I will go somewhere else. I did everything I have in my power to save her. I don't deserve all this silent treatment.
"Mom," I call as I stand before her. She ignores me, "Mom, tell me I should not have agreed to save you. If you can do it, then I will return the money, including the one I paid to free you."
She looks up at me but didn't say a word.
I swallow harder at the lump that has suddenly formed in my throat, my eyes were also bringing out tears on their own.
"All I did was to save us."
"You shouldn't!' my mom was also crying, " You shouldn't have gone through so much to help me. You should have held unto your virtue no matter what."
I look away, ashamed of myself, " You are making this very hard for me. I've always tried to stop thinking of it. But it's ok," I meet her gaze boldly, " I will just kill myself and end the pain once and for all."
" Jayde." She calls softly.
" Just let me go!" I sob harder, "I will rather die than receive this from you. But you know what mom if I'm given a second chance, I will choose the same path if it's to save you. I will never let anything happen to you."
Mom stands and pulls me into a hug, as her tears form a river on my shoulder
