Business and money

Chapter Forty-five
Jayde
It's so fucking embarrassing! I don't believe I was about to touch a dick because I was scared he would expose our relationship to the world.
I don't know why I was so scared about that. I'm not even Hattie.
The idiot even looked at me when I was naked. Gosh! I don't believe he saw everything.
What am I saying? This isn't his first time seeing it. And since we are couples, it means nothing to him.
I don't believe I almost broke his dick! Jeez! What would I have done if he had fainted and never woke up?
What if I got caught and then people discovered I wasn't even Hattie, to begin with. That I was Jayde? And I get sentenced to life imprisonment or I get killed.
Jeez, thinking about it is giving me goosebumps.
Gosh, I shouldn't have hit him like that. I should apologize but that will be later.
Gosh, he would think I acted weird. It doesn't matter what ground our relationship is on, Hattie is still his wife.
Not me anyway, I'm Jayde.
But well, the Everetts seems to have concluded on her. Imagine, I received two million dollars because I decided to come back as Hattie.
How will they feel if a piece of news like this spreads on air?
Also, how did Henry get to find out where I lived? I was always careful. I went to work with a face mask. I do use a nose mask at work.
How then did he know? And who the fuck took those pictures.
Well, pictures or not, I must return home today so mom doesn't disown me. I must let her believe I'm not getting involved again.
But damn! I can't stop doing this! I can't forget the money.
But I didn't do it for the money. I did it for Hattie. She's sick and unable to attend to the matter now. No one even knows when she will wake up.
And I did it for Henry too. The pressure of his lost wife is on him. His father doesn't even want him to go to work because of his missing wife. He would never get his life if Hattie doesn't return.
Aside from that, I did it for the Everetts. Everyone is worried people might find out about where the real Hattie is. And that will because a huge problem.
I'm going home now.
I walk to the wardrobe and open it. Damn! I have lots of clothes. I don't even know the one to wear.
I settle on a short red gown after some minutes of looking around.
I didn't use any perfume because I didn't want Mom to notice anything strange about me.
I didn't take any bag or wristwatch. I only took a scarf so I would be able to cover my face with it the moment I walk out of the house.
I pray Henry isn't in the living room.
I walk out slowly and look down at the living room. There's no one around, not even a maid. I walk slowly to the living room.
I'm sure the door will be left unlocked since it's isn't up to three hours since my family left here.
Gosh, Hattie's family and not mine.
I tiptoe towards the door and open it slightly. Gladness fills my heart as I walk out.
I feel so happy this is working well. Henry should not be worried, I will be back by morning.
Also, I will send him a message when I'm on my way.
Also, I should go to the bar tonight. Since it's going to be my last night, I should let them know. I wouldn't want them waiting for me.
And when, when I'm back from this mission, I will be taking up a new job. A job that won't make me skip my beauty sleep.
A job that won't be as tasking and energetic as the one at the bar.
I might even be a businesswoman. I have two million dollars already. And I won't be spending any damn out of it since I have clothes already.
And my feeding is all on my husband. My very cute husband. I laugh at the thought as I walk out of the compound.
It feels so easy than I thought. I couldn't even find the gatekeeper and I wonder where he went to.
Anyways, I'm glad everything went so smoothly.
I take a cab straight home. Mom wasn't back when I walk in.
But the moment I settle down to cook something, the lock turns and the door opens.
I walk out of the kitchen to meet her, "Hi Mom," I smile at her.
She gives me a dark frown, "Where have you been?"
"Mom," I call and pull her to the chair, " You can't believe it. Hattie is back!' I yell happily hoping mom would swallow the lie hook, line, and sinker.
She smiles, "Wow, I'm so happy. I saw the news and I thought it was you."
" No," I shake my head slightly.
Gosh, I don't believe I'm lying to my mom. Well, I have to do this. It's very important.
"Mom, and guess what? Hattie was very happy with me and so was her father. So, they offered me a job in their company."
" Mom! I've found a decent job!" I whoop in delight.
She blink once, then twice making me look like a fool, " What were your qualifications? Are you trying to play me? I thought you didn't even go to school."
Damn! I just got burst. I quickly think of what else to say.
"Yes, mom. I know and they are also aware of it. So, they gave me the job of an office attendant," gosh, I nearly slapped my head. I don't even know if there's a post by that name.
Well, mom wouldn't know because she didn't go to school either and she had never been offered a job at any company.
"Really?" She smiles, "So, what's the job all about, and what's the pay monthly?"
I touch her excitedly. I feel so excited creating a story of mine.
" That's the most important part of it. Office attendants are people that help with anything about the office. They help with parties, to submit files, or to help fill in if any employee was absent. And they will be paying me a five hundred thousand dollars every month."
" OMG!" Mom gasps, '" Are you for real?"
I nod slowly, " It's the truth mom. I'm to resume tomorrow. And well, I will bring a copy of it tomorrow with my company ID."
" Wow!" Mom screams eventually, it seems like she has finally believed all my fairy tales. She pulls me into a tight hug, "I'm so happy for you."
I decide to cook and go to the bar. I will need to drink for the last time. I will need to celebrate my last day, right?
Though, I mustn't risk my identity from being exposed.
Mom went to sleep immediately. And well, I told her I wanted to go say goodbye to them at the bar. And she agreed since I won't be going back again, then I should check on them.
I put on a pair of blue jeans trousers and a white t-shirt. I take a nose mask and walk out of the house.
It's pretty dark now as I walk into the bar. The bar isn't as crowded as it normally would.
I walk to Jayden, "Hi," I smile at him.
He smiles back and urges me out of the bar. We both walk into Ruth's office.
Ruth is inside, sipping her wine. The moment she saw me, she stands and pull me into a hug.
I wonder why she did that. It's not like I've been gone for so long. I only missed a day.
She pulls away after a while, "Are you ok now?" The moment she said that I knew instantly that she was referring to my reunion with my husband.
"Yes, now that you've decided to go back to your husband," Jayden says softly, his facial expression is really hard to see. I don't know if he's sad or happy. His face did something in between the two.
"Yes," I take a deep breath, "Yes, I've finally decided to go back. I'm here to say a last goodbye to you. I won't be coming back again."
Ruth smiles, " I'm so happy you made such a wonderful decision. It's nice to start it over with your husband. You are a very beautiful lady, I'm sure Henry will soon fall in love with you."
Jayden smiles now, "Yes, I'm sure of it. We are just going to miss you here."
I look up at him, " Don't worry, I will be coming to check on you guys once in a while."
We all laugh.
" Anyways, can I get some drink for the last time? I will pay you whatever amount you charge."
" No, don't," Ruth interrupts, " You've been working here for a while now. Your salary is still here."
No, I can't collect it. That will be like an embarrassment to Hattie.
"No, I don't want that."
"Then you can pay for your wines with it."
I smile, "Alright," I tell them finally.
Jayden walks out and I turn to look at Ruth, "Let no one know about me."
"It's ok," she says. She has become so understanding.
I walk out of her office and bump into someone. I look up at Declan.
My eyes went wider as I stare at him.
What the fuck is he doing here?
