Chapter 27

He went up to his room dashing at a lightning speed, not minding how sore his legs are nor how wobbly he seems when he strode back inside. He sat on the edge of his bed, thinking back to how things happened earlier. Jiwoon suddenly became considerate to him and that was after he raped him. Is he making up for his fault? Does he want him to forgive him for ravishing him? He thought so but then his mind went into a flashback.
*Y—you! Do you like me?*
*Why would I like you?*
No way, that guy doesn"t even bother for his opinion even more so that he would do something for him just to ask forgiveness. Then why is he doing this? For what?" He dismissed his thoughts, there's no point thinking with his simple-minded brain. He either think about food or what to wear next than had a headache figuring out Jiwoon's acts. He sighed and decided to sleep.
Everyone was still in the kitchen eating in an unbreakable silence, the only noise was the clattering of forks and knives and the clipping sounds of chopsticks. It feels like no one expected THAT, thinking if it"s an illusion or what, roommates, friends, acquaintances, what are they?
Liyanna clunked her fork dropping it to her plate, after realizing that everything was just so funny then what's the point of staying in an isolated place for more than a year? To meet the creator? Screw that! Why are they even going along with his ridiculousness? She laughed as she thought about it. Everything became a mess, the game that bring them together in here, the island that held them isolated, a mysterious person that was the reason of all of this? She laughed so hard that her stomach hurt, she couldn"t stop, eyes teary and arms holding her navel. The others look at her, perplexed.
"This is... ... ... ... .. so goddamn... ... RIDICULOUS!" She stand up and shouted, slamming the table in front of her as the plates and utensils clatter and clink dropping some of them on the floor.
"You"ve gone nuts...!" Karin look at her with contempt. The others just stared at her, thinking the same thing but she suddenly stop then looked at everyone's eyes.
"Everyone, don"t you think its too ridiculous? We"re here trapped, together in a who knows where, but you guys don"t even care?! What are we? Friends? No, we're just a group of strangers in a certain island!" she frowned. "I missed myself, my computer, my apartment... everything! So did you?" she looked at them one by one. Silence sound across the room, only breathing was heard as the stifling whiff of atmosphere made it tense for their mouths to open up, Yeah she's right, but what can they do? They're the only ones here, no phones, no contacts from the other place, just them as strangers in an isolated place. What if Elena won"t come back? The island has no animals neither a bird nor a fish, even insects are gone! What if they run out of food? What would happen then? Why did they even agree to stay? Because of the excitement? Frustrations? Curiosity? To meet a mysterious person just because of a game? Damn. She has a point, it"s a foolish decision to believe what are they even thinking when they signed the contract? They snapped off their thoughts when they hear steps on the stairs, everyone looked up and saw Yenn going down. He glanced at them sensing the awkwardness in the air. What happened? He asked himself as he look at everyone.
"Did I do something wrong?" he innocently asked. The air is to stiff, did something happened? He just slept a bit then he remembered he had to wash the plates!
"No, nothing.. its just.. never mind" Karin answered him vaguely, avoiding his gaze.
"Why the awkward air? Is it about earlier? I"m sorry" he scratch the back of his head then walk toward them. "Hey, say something" his melodious voice tickled everyone's ears, the silence made them hear such gentleness along with a bit of worry in his voice. The tenseness eased up and all their thoughts went blank as their eyes followed his movements approaching each of them as he asked an innocent question. It feels like they"re lost and someone was asking them if they were alright which kinda make them smiled a bit as they stared at him like kids who wanted some candy.
"Are you guys fighting?" he asked blinking his eyes.
"Uh no we're not its just..." Liyanna stared at him intently. He smiled apologetically then he looked at the table, looks like they aren"t done yet. "Oh? You don"t like the dishes?" He frowned. It was his favorites though, looks like everyone doesn"t like what he likes.
That hurts...
He stared at the food in everyone's plate. Some had a carrot salad and a slice of meat but the others only get the pumpkin soup and the spring rolls. It seems like they're just forcing themselves to eat because he was eating eagerly earlier.
"You guys don"t like the food? It's all my favorite though...
I'm kinda hurt...."
He looked at them sadly, is it the reason why everything is so awkward earlier? Is it because Jiwoon only cooked what he likes not minding the others whether it suit their taste or not? But it's delicious though... his heart thumped loudly in his chest. He looked at everyone"s grim faces that are staring back at him piercing his heart more. So, he cooked for me just to make up for his fault even if the others don"t like it? He..... really did that....?

He looked at them, apologetic. "I"m sorry, he cooked it for me so I could forgive him but it looks like you don"t even want to eat the food on the table. I'm sorry I will cook something else" he ran to the kitchen in a lightning speed, he gotta cook something! He's grateful to Jiwoon but he felt hurt that no one wants to eat his favorites. Goddamn it? Why is he even cooking for him?
The others were stunned. What just happened? Its...not about the food but....
"Ha.....hahahahahahaha"
They all laughed looking at each other. Damn, that was much hilarious than the earlier tantrum. The atmosphere finally relaxed as they saw Jiwoon walking in large strides toward the kitchen. Ehem, everyone coughed, remembering what Yenn said earlier. Damn that entrance though, they were taken aback, not knowing how to answer him. They all smiled at each other, totally forgot about the issue and sit on the table to continue eating.
