Chapter 56

Jiwoon stared at Yenn, he"s been silent the whole time and he hasn"t even flinched when he took the notebook away. Was he tired? He"s been dumbfounded over something but he couldn"t read his thoughts nor understand why he was in that state. Jiwoon pursed his lips and shook Yenn"s shoulder blades. Yenn then look at him with an equal amount of shock and guilt. What is he thinking of? Did something on the notebook put him off perhaps?
His face was now filled with dread and he too—was staring back at Yenn with guilt. They quietly watched each other and then Yenn let out a long sigh.
"Why can"t I understand a thing in that notes?"
"Ah?"
Jiwoon jerked on his seat and then he scoot himself to the sheets with Yenn. They both leaned over the headboard and quietly gaze in front of them. Jiwoon then looked into Yenn"s side profile and couldn"t help but feel uneasy. He"s too close and the atmosphere was quite heavy in the room that Jiwoon could almost feel his breathe suffocating because of it.
"What did you wrote? Nn.. never mind that. What do you do at times like this?"
Yenn change the topic and then smiled back at him. He then felt unsure what to say. Mostly, he"d be sleeping or downstairs chatting with the others but he knew Yenn was already aware of that fact.
"Not in the island. I mean way back before that"
Yenn added as if he had read what he was thinking. He let out an O then shift his position to face Yenn. He then tried to recall the good times he had and began telling Yenn about those.
"I always come home late because of school. Sometimes, they would invite me for a drink and we"d waste the night drinking and picking up girls. I remember that time Byul was picked on by a pretty lady and he had that smug look on his face, too sure that he"ll be bringing the girl home that night but in the end, the girl picked someone else..." Jiwoon continued to tell more of himself and Yenn just casually listened to him as he start throwing questions whilst Jiwoon answered them enthusiastically.
"...What about you? What do you do back then?"
Jiwoon chuckled off as his eyes beamed over Yenn. He could sense him getting sleepy but he still stayed awake just to listen to his long story. He thought it would be fair if he asked Yenn about himself too. Yenn wondered and then he winced at his thoughts. He hadn"t particularly enjoyed himself and was always cautious of people but at least he could tell Jiwoon about that.
"I"m always home and rarely go out but sometimes I"d enjoy myself by going to movies. It wasn"t actually that interesting but that"s how I lived my life then"
Yenn smiled bitterly and looked at Jiwoon. He could feel his eye drooping down and then he let out a soft yawn. Jiwoon just nodded in understanding and then smiled softly at him.
"We should probably sleep now. Goodnight"
"Night"
Jiwoon tucked him into bed and then also lied down as he let Yenn scoot over his side and buried his head on his chest. Yenn inhaled his scent then shift himself to a comfortable position and finally drifted to sleep.
"Oii, wake up..."
