The Day After The School Party

That didn't do anything to satisfy my curiosity, but I decided to let it go until tomorrow. “Okay” I said. “I will be home after breakfast in the morning and we could finish discussing it then. Do you’ve any plans for tonight?” I asked him. For some reason, I have been feeling sorry for him since the incident at the Holloway’s. Maybe it's because I am getting an in depth look into the dynamic of what is the Hayes family. Now that I realized that old man Cole is such an asshole I am glad my mother was spared his bullshit and raft. She might have put up with his bullshit, because she loved my father.
“ I am going to hang out at the clubs with the guys, it’s poker night,” he replied. “Okay dad, have fun and remember to talk to a few of the ladies there. See you tomorrow.” The line was quiet for a few seconds, I knew he was speechless, because this was the second time I have called him dad since I was four. “ You too sweetheart and I will try my best.”
He finally said and we ended our call. I forgot to ask him what grandma Bernice gave him to give me, oh well I find out tomorrow. I turned back to Lisa wanting to hear the rest of the story. She laughed while pointing her finger at me, mocking how interested I am in the story. “After a few minutes of being ignored by the boys and their dates, they finally walked back to their group. That was the second time Kyle gave her the cold shoulder and she had this murdering look on her face. Some people started pointing at them and whispering and they stormed out of the gym with Heather leading the pack. Everyone knew she would not let this go, because she was too vindictive of a person for that. The next day was Saturday and the party was all over the internet, kids posting pictures and talking about what happened. A group of anonymous kids started bad mouthing Heather and her friends and everyone else was agreeing with them. They even voted them as the worst dressed girls at the party. I didn’t comment, I just read the comments and laughed.” I love the internet, I thought to myself, because it makes some people braver than their usual self.
We got ready for dinner and while driving to the restaurant she continued. “ The next Monday when everyone got to school, the kids were still talking about the party. Some people went as far as pinning up pictures of Heather and her squad all over the school with tails and they edited their faces to look like devils. They were so mad when they entered the building and saw all the pictures. People were hiding their faces and laughing behind their backs. When she got to her locker it was covered in red devil pictures with bitch written on some and others said she was ugly compared to Kyle’s girlfriend. She went crazy and ripped all the pictures off her locker while screaming at the top of lungs. I was one of the people laughing at her. That was the first time anyone has seen her looking so defeated and we were loving it.” We both laughed. She finally got a taste of her own medicine, but clearly she still didn’t learn a thing from that experience. If she had put this much determination and effort into her education, she might’ve been a member of Mensa by now.
We got to the restaurant and the guys were already there waiting at our table. When they saw us they gave each other a quick look and then looked back at us. They stood up when we got to the table and pulled out the chairs for us to sit down. They were the perfect gentlemens. Somehow I was sitting next to Kyle and Thomas was next to Lisa, which made me laugh on the inside. They seemed to have planned out the seating arrangement. I got properly introduced again and we all had a great time laughing, talking and eating. After dinner we decided to take a walk, Lisa wanted to walk off the chocolate cake dessert she had. The whole evening was very nice, we were all so comfortable it was as if we all knew each other for years. It was as if we all went to high school together, there were never any awkward moments. During the walk Kyle asked me for my number and I gave it to him. He was single, so I didn’t see any issues with exchanging numbers. We also agreed to meet up again this coming weekend to hang out. By the end of the night, I had forgotten about the incident with Heather and Lena.
