Expanding The Group

The smell of breakfast attacked my nose and my mouth started watering. When I entered the kitchen the island was covered in food. There were butter croissants, three different breakfast meats, eggs, biscuit and assorted cut up fresh fruits. Kyle was sitting on the back porch with his coffee cup. I walked out there and kissed him on his cheek “ did you eat already?” he looked up at me “ No, I was waiting on you” how sweet is that? I pulled him up by his hand and led him into the kitchen. I couldn’t wait another second, I was starving. He started making the plates for us and I refilled his coffee and got myself something to drink. When we were eating he said “ I guess they stayed up later than we did last night.” I shaked my head, because my mouth was full of food. “ They’re awake, but they’re talking about their feelings for each other. Which is long overdue if you ask me.” He nodded while smiling, agreeing with me.
By the time Lisa and Thomas came downstairs Kyle and I were heading to the beach. They decided to pack their breakfast and join us. I could tell that their talk went well, because Lisa was glowing. We let the guys walk ahead, so she could tell me about their conversation. The walk to the beach was short, so we sat off to the side to get some privacy. I guess the guys were having the same discussion we are, because they kept looking back at us. “ He told me that what he always liked about me was my personality. He liked the fact that I was always humble and treated everyone with respect. Even though I was a rich kid, I never acted like a spoiled brat like the other girls. He loved the whole nerd thing I had going on back then.” We both laughed. “ Turns out he only hung around some of those girls, because he thought I hated jocks. Plus, I was one of his best friend’s little sisters. Apparently trying to date me, would’ve been some unwritten bro code violation. How do they come up with this stuff? ” She rolled her eyes and I smiled. “ I understand where he is coming from.” I told her, “ You even said it yourself. Your brother was very over protective of you and if Thomas had shown his feelings for you that would’ve affected their friendship.”
We joined the guys and the rest of the morning was peaceful and fun. That afternoon, we decided to walk around town. This was my first time in the Hamptons, so I wanted to see everything the town had to offer. I loved the hometown feel and the little shops along the street. The ice cream shop was my favorite. It reminded me of one of those sixties movies, where the ice cream shop was where all the cool kids would hang out. After we left the ice cream shop, I wanted to go into this souvenir shop across the street. “ What the fuck?” I heard Lisa’s voice sounding very annoyed. Kyle and I followed her line of sight and low and behold, there stood in all their glory Heather and Lena. I looked at Kyle and said “ I am starting to think she is following you around.” He sighed and continued walking across the street. I was wondering what plans she had up her sleeves now. Everytime we are having a good time this bitch shows up out of nowhere to ruin it. I think I need to have a one on one conversation with her, because this bullshit needs to stop. I refused to let anyone interfere with me getting to know my future husband better. And yes I called him my future husband, because I will say yes if and when he asks me. After what happened at the country club, I thought she would avoid us at all cost, but clearly I was wrong. I wonder what it would take for her to accept the fact that Kyle hates her?
Thomas' phone buzzed and then he had this worried look on his face. Lisa’s phone a short while later and she also looked a little worried. “ What’s the matter?” I asked her. “ Mark is on his way here with his girlfriend to spend the rest of the week. They will be staying at our house down the beach from Kyle’s house though.” I looked at Kyle and he shrugged his shoulders. “ Why are you two looking so worried? You guys are not in high school anymore, I am sure he will be okay with your relationship. I am willing to bet he will be happy for you guys. Have you ever thought that maybe he knew that you guys liked each other back then? And maybe he never said anything, because you guys never said anything either.” I raised both my eyebrows at them. Thomas Pulled Lisa into a hug, I thought it was so sweet. “ How about we invite them over for dinner tonight and you guys can throw some meat on the grill, it will be fun. It would also give Mark a chance to see how happy you guys are together.” We all agreed and continued with our tour. This was my first time in the Hamptons, so I was enjoying my little adventure.
