The Tyrants

I am going to have a lot of fun pissing them off. I should change my major to psychology, since I like fucking with people’s minds. His pedophile looking lawyer decided to speak “ My clients have a signed contract about the arranged marriage between both families. This contract was signed by both family heads and was also notarized. Per the contract if either party fails to meet their part of the contract, they will forfeit twenty percent of their portion of the company.” Dad and I looked at each other again, thinking now it all makes sense. ‘Head of the families’? Who died and made them lord over us? Old man Hayes doesn’t want to lose his piece of the pie and is trying to force me to marry Justin so he won’t lose his shares. Too bad for him, because I am still not going to marry Justin.
This goes to show how dominant these men were over their families. The fact they thought they could bully their children and grandchildren into doing something so barbaric speaks volumes about the characters. It also shows they’ve no respect for their families. Why else would they sign something like that? They never once considered how this stupid contract would affect the happiness of their children's lives. Now look where it got them. “ Whatever Mr Hayes and Mr Holloway signed over forty years ago has nothing to do with my client's daughter. She did not sign or agree to any of this and will not be settling Cole Hayes debts. Since he was the one who signed that contract, he is the only one responsible for the fulfillment of that contract. If your clients don’t agree to leave my clients alone, I will sue your clients for harassment and emotional distress.”
Old man Holloway couldn’t take it anymore and stood up so fast that his chair fell backwards. “ How dare you threaten us, you little bitch. You should be thanking us for being willing to accept you into our family. Your mother was a homewrecker and you’re a bastard. How dare you think you’re on the same level as my grandson.” I sat there looking at him with a wick smirk on my face not reacting to his outburst. Now I know who Justin learned his outrageous behavior from. Mr Townson told us that we would be recording the meeting for our protection if we had to take them to court. So, I used every ounce of self control I could muster, so I didn’t attack him for talking shit about my mother.
His poor wife was sitting there trying to calm him down, but he just ignored her completely. Justin's father was just sitting there like a statue not saying a word. I wondered why he even showed up, he was of no value. He refused to stand up to his father. My dad has anger written all over his face and I could see he was also having a hard time holding himself back. I stood up and looked at dad and said “ Dad let’s go, we will see them in court. Let's not waste anymore of our time with these people. It makes sense to argue with fools. ” Dad stood up nodding at his lawyer and we walked out of the conference room. I could see that no one had ever stood up and told these two old men no, before. They throw tantrums left and right, they’re worse than toddlers.
When we were in the elevator I said “ It still doesn’t make any sense. He should be happy that he will gain the additional twenty percent ownership of the company, so why is he still pushing this marriage so hard? Another thing we should consider, Justin doesn’t want this marriage either, so why don’t both old men just call it quits? There has to be something else going on. Maybe you should talk to your father and explain to him that no matter what he does there will be no marriage. I would rather marry a stranger off the street than marry anyone in that deranged family.” He gave me a hug trying to comfort me. “ I will take care of everything, don’t worry. But you’re right something else is definitely going on with those two. On a good note, I have a date tonight.” I gave him an excited look “ What is she like? Where did you meet her?” He was laughing at how excited I was acting. “ I met her on my golf trip and we hit it off, so I asked her out and she said yes.” I started clapping my hands and said “ Nice dad. Have fun and don’t do anything I wouldn’t do. Oh don’t forget to get her flowers, girls love flowers and chocolate.”
