Heather's Comeuppance

I was shaking my head while listening to what dad was saying. I really don’t like Heather, but her mental instability might not be her fault. “ I hope so too, dad, because she really needs the help.” We ended our call and I called Lisa back. Kyle was still on the phone with his mother. I talked to Lisa until we made it to the cafe. That was when I logged on to social media to see what everyone was saying. I also watched one of the videos of the incident. I was there when everything happened, but watching the video shows what lunatic Heather really was. There is no way her family can see these videos and not send her to a treatment facility. I know they must be extremely embarrassed about this whole thing. The world is watching their precious daughter go bat shit crazy live and in living color. I wonder if they will still walk around and act like they’re better than everyone else.
When Kyle finished talking on the phone he gave me a hug and kiss. “ I love you” he said and gave me another kiss. “ Is something else wrong?” I asked him. “ No, I just wanted to know that I love you.” I smiled up at him and hugged him tighter. “ I love you too baby.” We sat down at our table and ordered our food. “ Mom and dad were on the phone just now and dad is pissed off. Melissa showed them the videos of us and Heather in the store. Dad went ballistic and said he was going to destroy the William family business, because he warmed Heather’s father to keep her away from us. Mom was equally upset and plans to meet up with Heather’s mother to give her a piece of her mind. I still don’t understand how Heather can be so fixated on me after knowing I hate her. Tons of people get rejected everyday, but they don’t develop such insane behavior.”
“ That’s just it Kyle, Heather’s brain doesn’t work like ours. Maybe they’ve mental disabilities in their family and Heather was the one who inherited those genes. That would explain the obsession since middle school. Being raised to be a spoiled brat didn’t help matters much. Her parents might’ve dismissed her behavior thinking she was just being spoiled when in fact she was showing signs of mental illness. Damn I am good! I should’ve changed my major to psychotherapist.” Kyle almost choked on his drink when I said that. He had juice coming down his cheeks, because he couldn’t stop coughing. When he finally calmed down he said “ baby you’re too much” and we both chuckled at my antics.
When we got back to our apartment Kyle received a call from Mark. I went to put the groceries away while Kyle talked to Mark on the phone. After a few minutes Kyle walked into the kitchen with a smile on his face “ I am going to be a Godfather” he said and hugged me. Wow, that means Karen is pregnant. That is wonderful news, I am surprised Lisa hadn’t called me about becoming an aunt yet. “ Mark said it was a total surprise to both of them, because Karen is on birth control. They wanted to be married for a few years, so Karen could be more established in her career, before starting their family. But when they found out yesterday that she was pregnant they were very excited and happy about it. His parents were ecstatic and have already started looking for baby names.” We both laughed, “ I am going to research the roles of a godparent, so I can do a good job when the baby is born.” he said and walked out of the kitchen.
When I finished what I was doing in the kitchen, I decided to call Lisa to grill her about not telling me she was about to become an aunt. “ Kadian, I just found out about it myself. Just last week I asked Karen if she was using a new skin care product, because her face was glowing. I am so happy for them and I hope they’re having twins, so I will have more kids to spoil rotten." She is so silly, but I love her dearly. “ Have you and Thomas started talking about having kids yet? Do you even want kids of your own or do you just want to be the cool aunt?” she giggled into the phone. “ Yes we want kids in the future, but decided that we won’t plan it out. We will let nature take its course. Life is too short for us to keep planning everything out. I want to enjoy life as it comes and having kids is a part of that joy that life gives us. We’re not using protection and we are happy just going with the flow.” Wow, that was a very interesting way of looking at it. “ That was very profound, Lisa. I never looked at life quite like that, but it makes a lot of sense.”
That night during dinner I brought up the subject to Kyle. “ Honey, do you have a timeline when you want us to start having kids? I was talking to Lisa today about their plans and she has a very interesting way of looking at things. They’re basically leaving that decision to faith. They’re not using protection and think that when the time is right life will give them a baby when it wants to. I honestly like the way they’re looking at things. What do you think?” He stopped eating and looked at me “ personally I wouldn’t mind having kids now, but I will leave that decision up to you. I know you’ve things you wanted to accomplish, so I don’t want to interfere in the personal goals you’ve set for yourself.” I got up from my chair and walked over to him and sat on his lap. “ Why are you so good to me?”
