Lisa's Wedding
Lisa did get her dress custom made. She basically created the whole thing herself. She took several wedding dresses she liked and took the different things she liked about them and created her perfect dress. She really needs to be a designer. Kyle suggested I did something like that since I am not sure what I really like or want. Lisa thought it was a great idea, because it would give her another opportunity to go crazy creating another one of a kind dress. I gave in and we went wedding dress catalog shopping, which took us hours. We came back with about twenty catalogs and my eyes started dancing after looking at dresses for over three hours. Lisa was not tired and she kept looking and tagging the ones she thought would look beautiful on me. I decided to let her do the whole thing, because I know she has exceptional taste in fashion. I know what lengths she would go through to create me the perfect dress of my dreams.
Next thing we know our graduation and Lisa’s wedding is coming up and using the word excited to describe our feelings would be an understatement. Lisa’s mom and I went with her for her dress fitting and I have to say, Lisa has way too much natural fashion design talent to become a child psychologist. Lisa will be the best dressed psychologist of all time. Not only did her creation look a hundred percent better in person, but it looked amazing on her. Even the designer she worked with didn’t think the dress would have turned out this great. Now I am even happier she will be creating my dress. Her mother was speechless when she saw Lisa in the dress. We could see pride written all over her face, knowing that her baby was the one who created this magical dress. Thomas is going to lose his shit when he sees her walking down the aisle.
Their ceremony and reception will be held at the castle in Long Island. The ceremony will be in the garden, which was already beautiful with all kinds of beautiful flowers. When we met up with her wedding planner at the castle, I was surprised to see five different large trucks loaded with more fresh flowers. It takes a lot to surprise me, but I was really taken back by the amount of flowers that were added to the garden that was already full of flowers. I can hardly wait to see the finished product. There was a team of people working on decorating the reception area and Lisa and her mother were happy with what they saw. Her wedding colors are four different spring colors that compliment each other beautifully. They were coral, blush, peach, coral sand and navy blue. The men will be wearing navy blue suits. Each of her bridesmaids will wear a different color dress. My dress will be blush and I am also her maid of honor.
It took two days to get the entire venue just right. The wedding party spent the night at the castle, so we had no traveling to do on the day of the wedding day. The night before the wedding we went to the garden to take a look at the final product and I was blown away. They had ten 15 foot metal wedding arbor that was used to create the aisle. Each arbor was completely covered in four different color flowers. The colors of the flowers were their wedding colors. The walkway under the arbors were also completely covered in the same four wedding colors, but with rose petals. They had three hundred glass chairs for the guests. Each chair was decorated with sheer sashes that also matched the wedding colors. Each chair also had its own small bouquet of flowers placed into the bow on the sashes. It was really beautiful. Lisa had an exact same sketch in her sketchbook. She was really happy with the job the florist and her team did.
With three hundred people invited, her wedding cake was as tall as Thomas, who was six feet tall. The cake was white with multi-colored roses cascading down the side from the top in a spiral pattern. The cake has eleven tiers, it looked so elegant. They had a set of cake swords for the cake cutting.
The reception will be held in a circus size wedding tent that could accommodate the three hundred guests. The ceiling of the tent was translucent, so we could see the stars when we looked up. The interior of the tent was decorated with the base color scheme of the wedding. There were flowers everywhere and the centerpieces were large and over the top beautiful. The tables were large enough to seat ten people each. Each place setting was a work of art with crystal champagne glasses next to them. I can’t even imagine how many cases of champagne they will need for this event. There was also an oversized dance floor inside the tent. She had a team of videographers and photographers, to capture everything over the twenty four hours. Lisa’s parents didn’t care about a budget, all they wanted was to make their princess happy. And it is safe to say they did just that.
They invited over three hundred guests and about one hundred staff working the venue. Surprisingly the place was organized and everyone was working smoothly in sequence. Each of us bridesmaids had our own hair and make-up person, so there would be no waiting around. The wedding planner was like a soft spoken drill sergeant, who made sure everything was done down to the second. She was so sweet though that we couldn’t be mad at her. The day went flawless and every guest that was there, kept talking about how elegant and unique everything was. Every married woman there was jealous of Lisa’s dress. Her dress was the main topic of the night and it was so well deserved. Lisa's silly ass basically dragged her father down the aisle to get to Thomas and we all laughed at her. I didn’t know that Thomas was a cry baby like Lisa. He started crying from the moment he saw her. They made such an adorable couple. They went on their honeymoon two days after the wedding.
