Chapter 10

"I was just worried about your daughter, Emerald. She's quiet as if she doesn't want to talk to me. All I'm worried about is that she might commit suicide because she's already having a problem and isn't even telling me." said her mother.
Leandre shook his head. He didn't know why a person who come to this age was worrying about things that didn't happen yet. Francheska is the type of girl who isn't talkative. She wants to lock herself in her room rather than go out with friends just like other girls out there who are like shopping and going somewhere and making fun. Cheska was frowning like she didn't like what his mother said.
"Why are you thinking like that, grandma? I'm not a suicidal person. What would be my problem? A boy? I don't have a boyfriend. Problems at school? I don't have that because I'm smart. If when it comes to family, there is no problem for us. So you have nothing to fear because I am very happy with life." answered Cheska.
"Good to hear that you are normal." said his mother.
"Nah, whatever, grandma. You just so overacting." Cheska replied rolling her eyes.
They are both laughing.

"Don't talk to your grandma like that. I'm just concerned about you. You are my only grandchild that I love so much."
"Of course. I love you too grandma." Cheska replied and hug.
"We better sleep for now and we continue our conversation tomorrow since your father and mother were tired from traveling." his mother said.
"Okay. The three of us should sleep in one bed tonight since we're not been together for almost a year already." Cheska said.
Emerald and Geo both laughed.
"Of course."
They decided to sleep because it was late. Leandre went out for a while and entered the kitchen. He will drink water because he is suddenly thirsty. He didn't even bother to turn on the lights because he already memorized where the fridge was. He was opening the fridge when-

"What are you doing, Leandre? Why didn't you turn on the lights." Emerald said.

"Goodness, Emerald! Maybe you didn't turn on the light either?" asked Leandre.
He wasn't sure where is Emerald sitting or standing since it so dark in the kitchen. He even heard Emerald just giggle as if she was even happy that she made him surprised.
"I preferred dark like this. It's like I'm with my world." Emerald replied.
Leandre frown. He didn't know that Emerald was like a dark place. Maybe they hadn't seen each other for so long that's why he didn't know her likes or something that mattered to her. When siblings parted ways or had a life away from each other it's like they didn't have time because it's focused on the family that wants to build and they had their own life away from home.
"Why did you know that I was the one who came in?" Leandre asked.
"We're siblings, Leandre, that's why I know your smell. By the way, how are you? From what I can see now, your life has not been happy. Do you think I was happy with what I heard about that woman? It hurts me more when I see you like that." Emerald said.

Did his tiredness evident in her? He just trying to look cool and always keep in his mind that he is okay. He always okay but when he saw that woman's face is like he was being not in himself. He was being angry knowing that he was being fooled by that woman. He was restraining himself so that he can't hurt Jade physically. She was very lucky though because he didn't want to abuse women if he do that he was like punching his mother and his sister.
"I'm fine. You don't need to stress around toxic people. I can handle this. And I'm moving on already." answered Leandre.

"Are you sure? Or maybe you love that woman so much that you can't divorce her? No matter how busy you are, you can push the two of you through a divorce." Emerald said angrily.
"Emerald!" he exclaims.
If he let Emerald meddle with their problems for sure it was a disaster. He knows women quarreling. It's like a tornado. It's kinda annoying to witness such arguing like that. Throwing hurtful words at each other and pull each other's hair.
"You're so kind. Don't let that woman manipulate you. I'll file your divorce." Emerald said.
Leandre's mouth twisted upon hearing Emerald's words. Maybe she was thinking that he can't do that divorce thing. That's what he wants to do just to be free for that woman.
"I will do that, Emerald, because I am the concern," Leandre replied.
"When? If that woman runs out of your money?"

"No need to worry about the money. I'm already locked my account in the bank. When the bank reported to me that woman had withdrawn a large amount of money without me knowing." he replied.

"I hope you marry a woman who is not wealthy but worthy of your love," Emerald replied.

"Don't make me look like I made a mistake with the woman I chose, because I had no idea we'd end up like this," Leandre replied.

He felt bad when he realized his sister was telling him right now. He wasn't expecting her words to be directed at him. He had no idea who was in charge of informing her about what had happened to his marriage. Perhaps it was Francheska or his mother.

"Of course. You wouldn't be like that if you chose the right woman to be your wife. How come you got married right away when you were together for almost a month? You didn't know her true colors. It's always nice that you need to know her better. But I know that I don't have the right to say this thing to you. Because you are older than me. I'm sorry. I'm carried away. I was hurt if that woman keep on hurting you." Emerald replied.

"I'm fine, Emerald. I understand you. So you have nothing to worry about. I'm not offended by your words. I know you're worried about me. I'll feel the same way when someone you care about hurts you," Leandre replied, leaning on the table's edge.

Right now, the realization hit him hard. He wants to hurry things if he knows he made the right decision. He was aware that he had numerous regrets about marrying Jade.

"Sleep now, Emerald. We'll talk tomorrow. Get out of here like my hair is standing on end from the dark," Leandre said.

"It's okay; Daddy might be the only one here," Emerald said.

"Damn you! Stop scaring me like that!"
Emerald was laughing when she suddenly stopped.

"What's the matter, Emerald?" he asked.

But she didn't respond to his question, so he turned on the light and spread it throughout the kitchen, where he saw Emerald standing back in the sink. He approached her and looked at her; he noticed Emerald was snipping; she had just finished crying. He tapped her on the shoulder.

"What's the matter?"

Emerald turned to face her, wiping her eyes and leaning against the sink wall.

"Nothing. I'm just missing daddy. I don't know why I'm so emotional right now when I saw you and mommy. Maybe I'm just being selfish because for how many years now I've only realized to visit here, and I know mommy was very upset with me." Emerald responded.

Leandre hugs and strokes his sister's back to make her feel better.

"Tsk. Don't be sad. We understand that everything was never the same before. You had your own family with you that you had to prioritize first. We are very happy right now seeing you become very beautiful and successful in life." Leandre responded emotionally.

Emerald laughed, letting go of him.

"You're still my sweet brother; nothing has changed; and you, too, deserve to be happy soon."
"I certainly will."
"All right, let's go upstairs. We'll continue our conversation tomorrow. We had many days to spend together because I and Geo were planning to stay here permanently, and we already talked about how he wants to expand his business here," Emerald said.

"That's great to hear," Leandre said.

He and Emerald were going upstairs. He was sweating and thought he should take a bath before going to bed.

Alondra woke up in the middle of the night because of a stomach ache. It was as if the depths of her stomach were dug up and there was a small pain that was unbearable. She was about to get up but her surroundings were spinning and he felt like she was going to vomit. But she insisted on getting up even though she felt bad. She slowly descended the small stairs so as not to disturb Daisy's peaceful sleep. Because she is at the top. It would be a shame if she moved Daisy so that she would sleep first in the lower place. She really couldn't take the pain anymore so she was about to fall and kiss the tile floor. But It's good that she was holding on to the wall entering the toilet. She sat down suddenly when he accidentally kicked the bucket with water. Alondra cried because of the pain in her foot that had almost dislocated and to add that her stomach hurt.

She didn't eat anything unusual that made her like this. Maybe her menstruation will come soon. This is because the symptom is that she cannot stand properly and she felt something weird in her body like she was in fever and cold. Then she felt something sticky that drips inside her underwear that made her shiver. Alondra tried to stand up and looked in the mirror and she looked so pale her hair was scattered and her sweat was overflowing. These belly cramps of hers lasted for almost an hour until they went away. It will make her suffer. She sat down slowly on the toilet thinking about what she does to remove this pain easily and she knows that she didn't back to sleep. And tomorrow is her second day at work she didn't have to be absent just because of this.

After a few minutes, she decided to go out and find some medicine to drink. She will also look for things to heat water because maybe if she drinks hot water the pain will suddenly disappear. But she saw Daisy sitting in her bed combing her hair.
"Why are you waking up?" she asked while walking slowly and her face frowning and controlling the pain.
"How's your feeling? I woke up because I heard you get up. Drink the hot water in the glass and this medicine too." Daisy said and lend her the medicine.

She drank it with hot water after taking it.
"I'm sorry. Your sleep was disrupted. Suddenly, my stomach hurt, and that's when my menstrual period arrived," Alondra replied, her lips twisted as she felt her stomach ache more and more with the heat.
Daisy responded, "It's okay; I can't leave you writhing in pain alone."

"I appreciate it."

"Has the pain subsided?"

"Not yet; the pain was too much when I drank the medicine," Alondra replied.

"Lie down on my bed, and I'll massage you to relieve your pain."

Daisy's bed might be covered in blood, so Alondra paused.

"Don't worry about it; just wash the bed sheet afterward," Daisy said.

Daisy gave her a blanket and two pillows after she lay down and began massaging her. Daisy's kind gesture moved Alondra to tears. This is the best thing that has ever happened to her, and she will never forget it. She was extremely fortunate to know this woman and be able to assist her in this situation. This is the most difficult aspect of being away from a mother, getting into such trouble, and becoming ill at work. She is hoping that she will be better tomorrow.
