Chapter 46

"Can't I refuse? What if I'm busy during those times?" Alondra said.
Lexie burst out laughing.

"My wedding is next year, Alondra, so you still have time to prepare, so don't say you can't come."

"Okay."

"What do you want to eat? It's my treat," Lexie said.

"Not anymore; it's embarrassing for you," Alondra replied.

"It's all right," Lexie said as she stood up and approached the counter.

She forgets to mention that she had previously ordered. She probably ate a lot because she wanted to see what other customers were eating earlier. Lexie then approached, followed by the server with their order.
"You already ordered? Why didn't you tell me?" Lexie joked.
"I forgot, but that's okay, maybe we can eat more later," Alondra smiled.

"We eat a lot but don't gain weight," Lexie laughed as she began eating.

Alondra ate slowly, but she was determined to finish all of the ice creams before her. She didn't know why, but she suspected it had something to do with her pregnancy. She didn't want to tell Lexie because she was afraid she'd notice how hard she was eating. When she saw the ice cream and cake earlier, she almost started salivating. She still had a pitcher of ice cream from the morning when she got home.

Lexie said goodbye after a half hour because she had something else to do with them. As a result, Alondra followed. She only went to her boutique to get some exercise. She was far away when she noticed Garret's frown outside the boutique.

"What's wrong? Did you fight with someone?" Alondra asked as she approached.
"Nothing. I just looked for you because you didn't even text where you went." Garret answered but his annoyance didn't go away at all.
"Are you sure I'm the reason for your annoyance? Why didn't it disappear when you saw me." Alondra said.
So Garret's mood suddenly became normal. She doubted there was any other reason. She didn't know what it is.

"Let's go home, Alondra. Are you still going inside to check on them?" Garrett asked.
"Not anymore. Both of them are fine inside." Alondra replied and got into the car.
The next day, Leandre woke up early to go to the office. He saw Francheska on the stairs going up to his room.
"You're leaving, Uncle? What time do you wake up?" Cheska asked.
"I'm going to the office early. Why?"
"Nothing. We are planning to go to a beach, maybe you want to come?"
"When?"
"Right now," answered Cheska.
"I'll follow."
"Okay."

Leandre didn't bother eating in the office anymore, preferring to eat outside. His life has returned to normal, not sad or happy, and he has received no response from Jade. But no matter what it does, it is powerless.

He is not the one who cheated in their marriage, so there is no reason to hold him accountable. He exited the house, got into his car, and drove away. And, despite their lack of a romantic relationship, he is constantly reminded of Alondra. His heart wanted to call her, but his mind told him not to. He was suddenly embarrassed for not telling the truth.

Even if there is no relationship, she has the right to know what kind of life he leads, but he chooses to lie. Even if he blames himself, he has no recourse. He regrets things so much because he adores Alondra so much, even if she doesn't tell him, but he feels her care for him as compensation, but he felt more. He arrived at the company half an hour later. He greeted the guard before proceeding to his office. Lexie, on the other hand, was even earlier because he saw her cleaning his office.

"Good morning, sir. Do you want coffee?" she asked as he entered.
"No. Can I just have breakfast?"
"Sure. I'll order it for you." Lexie answered and left the office.
Just a few minutes ago, he came back and put the Tupperware with only food and bottled water on the disposable plate in front of him.
"Thank you."
"Welcome."

So Leandre began to eat. He intends to leave early or later to visit the beach. After a minute, he threw the empty plate and disposable Tupperware in the trash and drank water. Then he got down to business. He noticed Lexie approaching his table and placing something resembling an envelope on his glass table near the documents. He accepted it.

"A wedding invitation?" Leandre asked.

"Sir, yes."

"Is anyone getting married?"

"Me, sir," Lexie replied, smiling. "But there's still one year left, so you have time to think."

"Really? But giving a wedding invitation is too advanced."
"Yes, sir. I don't even know why it's so early but the wedding is still a long time away." Lexie replied.
"But anyway, congratulations, but are you sure? You know that not all marriages are successful at first, happy, but after a while, the marriage is not good anymore." Leandre said bitterly.
"Yes. I'm ready to settle down." Lexie said smiling.
"Good for you," answered Leandre.
He could tell Lexie was pleased with her decision. And Leandre was well aware that she was a good wife and mother. She is very caring and good at her job, so her marriage will succeed in the coming days.

As a result, he is learning in life. He doesn't want to get married right away because he isn't sure who he will marry. He will not repeat his traumatic experience if the outcome is the same for everyone. Lexie had gone out for a while, so Leandre had to finish his work first. He left his office at noon and hung out with the guard outside the building.

"How are you doing here?" Leandre asked.

"It's fine, sir. I'm very happy," said the guard.
