Chapter 18
"Thank you, Alondra," Daisy said.
"You're welcome. Alondra responded.
She took off her apron as she got to her feet.
Alondra wiped her perspiration-covered face and asked,
"Where's a server by the way?"
"Got on leave. From what I hear, she's rumored to be pregnant." Daisy responded.
"Are they wed?"
"Nope, her boyfriend got pregnant. Maybe she was planning to get married, but having the child came first." Daisy answered and winked at her
"Follow me outside, Alondra," Daisy said and walked out with the plate.
Leandre was peacefully dozing when he heard a knock on the car window. He noticed that Emerald's face was too ugly to be painted, so he opened the window.
Emerald raised an eyebrow at him.
"I'm done ordering. I thought you were following?"
"I'm sorry, I fell asleep again," Leandre replied, getting out of the car.
Emerald lectured as they entered the coffee shop.
"So now you should avoid getting drunk because you can sleep anywhere."
And he did as he was told before becoming embarrassed and raising her voice. He simply followed Emerald until they arrived at the table that was visible from the counter in the distance. Leandre pulled out a chair and sat down.
"What is so special about this place that you still intend to come here?" he asked.
"Shut up and just eat."
Emerald reprimanded him and her eyes widen on him. She began to eat as he was speaking.
"I want to drink some water because I'm thirsty," Emerald responded.
His sister rolled her eyes and stopped chewing.
"Should I get the water for you? The counter is nearby. There is someone inside." Emerald responded.
At the counter, he noticed a woman who appeared to be writing something.
"Excuse me, Miss." He called out to the woman.
He glanced at her.
"Do you need anything, sir?"
"Yes, please let me ask for water," said Leandre.
"Yeah, sure,"
"Thanks,"
The woman entered the closed door after leaving. Leandre pulled out his phone and looked at some social media. Before he noticed that he was able to take his eyes off the phone when a hand reached his arm, he was unaware that the water had been placed in front of him. He was startled because he was familiar with the hold and the feelings. To his dismay, he looked around but couldn't find anyone.

"Are you okay, brother?" Emerald asked.
"Nothing. Did the woman at the counter give the water?" which made Emerald furrow her brows.
"Are you sure you're awake? It seems like you're just dreaming right now sitting here in the coffee shop. Another woman brought the water. Why?" Emerald said as she look at him intently.
"Nothing."
"Are you certain?" Emerald asked.
"Yeah."
Does this indicate that the woman worked here? If another woman had held him last night at the bar, he wouldn't have felt this way when her hand touched his arm.
"What does she look like?" Leandre asked seriously
"Seriously? What's wrong with you?" Emerald gasped.
Leandre squinted. He understood that he shouldn't be asking his sister because if she doesn't get an appropriate response from him, she won't stop asking questions. He merely wanted to know how that woman looked.
"Just eat there. Nothing else."
Leandre left the coffee shop, but the woman was still on his mind. If it has no intention of showing its face, why does it feel the need to hold other people's hands? He grinned mentally. It's possible that the woman who was holding his arms did so unintentionally. Who wouldn't be wary of touching someone unauthorized? Of course, people don't always have good moods.
Out of the blue, he asked Emerald, "What's our next stop?"
He was quietly seated in the front seat next to her.
Leandre was startled when Emerald said, "I thought you weren't going to speak. Or were you just thinking about the woman who accidentally grabbed your wrist?"
"Huh?"
Emerald responded with a laugh.
"Whatever. I know why you were asking earlier. Of course, I saw how her hand caught yours because she unintentionally bump the chair. But you're too much for daydreaming."
"Damn you!"
Emerald laughed at his reaction.
"She's beautiful but she's not the kind of woman who will like to go into a relationship with you," she said.
"Why?" Leandre asked, frowning.
"Of course. Because not all women will like men who are separated from their wives but still married." Emerald replied.
Leandre seemed to swallow his tongue at what Emerald said but it was true. No matter which angle look at, it is not right to be in a relationship with someone who is a married man or woman even if they are separated. Leandre seemed to have lost his spirit. He needs to get a divorce from Jade before he can find his happiness.
It is not difficult for him to do that because they are in a place where divorce is possible at any time. Emerald invited him home so he brought him to their house. And he went to the company because he still had a lot of work to attend to. He was still driving a car on the highway when Nicholas called. he turned his wireless headset on and connected it to his phone. Even if he is driving, he can talk to Nicholas.
Hello. Why? “ he inquired.
“Did you return to your house?”
“I was in the car on my way to work.” Why? “ said Leandre.
“Nothing. “I thought you were still at home,” Nicholas replied.
“Why didn’t you wake me up? We were planning on leaving your house together. You already know I’m too shy around Ninette. Perhaps she’ll think I’m too burden on your family,” Leandre speculated.
On the other end of the line, Nicholas simply laughed.
“Ninette is all right. She is at a loss for words. Then she regards you as her brother. You are aware that she is the only child in their family.”
"It's not right if she wants to be her brother. I can’t agree to that,” Nicholas replied, laughing.
“Shut up! Where did you put my clothes again?”
“Ninette has done the laundry again. If she is pregnant, I will think of looking like you because you are her favorite to serve.” Nicholas answered with a laugh.
“Silly. Am I the father to look like me? You never really think.” Answered Leandre.
“Alright. I’ll hang up the phone.”
“Okay bye.”
Until now, Alondra still can’t get rid of the shame she feels. Why was she still stupid when she was the one to serve outside? It’s a good thing she was holding the man earlier if she wouldn’t be dumbfounded because her mouth hit the edge of the table. But what’s even more embarrassing is what the woman saw with the man whose hand she held. Because of the shame, she immediately left without saying goodbye because the woman’s hand was focused on the hand they had joined. The woman didn’t look angry because she was still smiling at her. Fortunately, the man was too engrossed in his phone so he didn’t see everything that happened.
He was drinking water when the door opened and Daisy came in carrying food for lunch.
“Are you okay, Alondra?” Daisy asked and placed the food on the table.
“Yes. I’m fine" he answered without showing his nervousness.
She can no longer be nervous because those people are no longer in front of her. But it was the first time she was embarrassed like that.
"Will you come with me later?" asked Daisy.
"Where?"
"In the city."
"Are you going to buy anything there?" Alondra asked.
"No. Mr. Ozdemir invited me outside." Daisy answered as she started to eat.
"Who?"
"The man we slept with here last time. He asked me for my number after he left and he called earlier to invite me. And he told me that I bring you." Daisy replied.
