Chapter 34
If their paths cross, there will be no conflict. If necessary, she is prepared to confront Leandre. Mathilde approached her and tightly hugged her. Alondra smiled because this girl was so nice. In addition to Dianne, she remembered Ciara, Lianne, and Genevieve. What are their current circumstances? They won't call because they haven't bought a phone yet. The breeze was cold, even though it wasn't too late. Her mother was only inside because she was caring for the father of her children. She will conduct business here and not return to the club if she has any money left, but she is forced to return to the job she left behind.
And while she saw her family's happy faces, it was a double sting because they had no idea what she was doing in the city to earn money.
"How can your sister have a boyfriend if you're doing that? You're too clingy," Hebrew said as she approached them, laughing.
I guess they were too preoccupied with their thoughts to notice him approaching.
"You don't care; I just want to cuddle with my sister," Mathilde replied in Hebrew, rolling her eyes.
"I think you just need something from her. Maybe you'll ask for money?" Hebrew asked, laughing
"No. He gave me too much. Look, we now have a nice house. So I won't ask anymore. I just hugged him because I was thankful." answered Mathilde.
"Yes. You should be." Hebrew said.
Mathilde broke away from his embrace and faced Hebrew and smelled him.
"What are you doing? You're like a dog, Mathilde. Get settled." Hebrew complained.
"I just smelled who smelled good. It suddenly entered my nose. It was you." answered Mathilde.
"For some reason, I won't wear perfume."
"Where are you going? Do you have a date?" Mathilde asked.
Hebrew is a reason to laugh.
"Why do you always ask me that question?" it asked.
"Nothing. I'm just too curious about what kind of woman you are preparing to find for a girlfriend. Do you want a beautiful face or just average?" answered Mathilde.
"You know. When you love and love someone so much no matter what they look like or their status in life you will accept them completely. That's how unconditional love is." Hebrew answered passionately.
Alondra looks away. Does she want to think that Leandre's kindness to her is his acceptance that he can love her too? But what she paid back was a disappointment. He is very angry with her now and may be thinking of putting her in jail. Just now she felt scared. Mathilde was called by her mother so Hebrew and I were the only two outside.
"Do you have a problem? I just noticed yesterday that you seem to want to cry." Hebrew asked.
"Nothing. I'm just afraid of what might happen to dad, but now it's okay. So I can sleep well at night." answered Alondra.
"I'm not convinced. I know there's something deeper that's your problem. You can tell me. After all, we're friends and it's not just our age difference." Hebrew said.
Is he too obvious even if other people can see it?
"Nothing. I'm fine. I'll deliver to you tomorrow."
"Sure."
After Hebrew left, Alondra entered the house and went straight to her room. And lie down in bed. She was half-smiling upon seeing the turn of events in their lives. She is happy to see that they have a home and can eat good food. And her parents' business was successful. A knock on the door stopped Alondra from thinking about something. The door opened and her mother came in smiling and looking at him.
"Why, mother?" Alondra asked.
"Nothing. I just want to bond with you. I thought you were asleep?"
"Not yet. I'm just lying down. I'm going back to the city tomorrow." Alondra said.
Her mother nodded and smiled touching her cheek. She is also getting nice clothes and her true beauty has also come out because she is no longer tired from work and can eat at the right time.
"Just be careful there. And do you know that your father and I are both grateful to you for your kindness to us? You did not leave us to suffer. And you made a way to save his life." said her mother in tears.
"Nothing. The family should help each other for the betterment of life. I can't bear to see you suffer." Alondra replied with a smile she wanted to shed tears earlier but she chose to hold back.
"We're just here for you if you have a problem." said her mother.
"Thank you. How is the father ?"
"He's fine but he needs some rest."
"Good."
After her mother left, Alondra lay down on her bed again. He also does not want to stay here in their house for a long time because he is too guilty and they are happy for what he has done for the family, but what he does not know is that he will fall into hell because of the sins he has committed. He just excused himself that he was still full because he didn't want to see his father thank him too much.
While Leandre seems to be going crazy, he is more worried about Alondra's whereabouts than the amount of money she took. He didn't want to think that she might have run off with another man and pocketed his money. This was the only time he felt this way in his entire life. He couldn't seem to lose her by his side. He is now at the club where Alondra works while Nicholas is in front of him staring at him.
"What are we doing here? And then I see you didn't order. We're just going to spend the morning here?" Nicholas asked as if disgusted by his appearance.
"Just go home, Nicholas. Just leave me here." Leandre answered while always looking at the entrance of the club.
Nicholas just shook his head at what he said.
"What's going on with you? Who are you looking at outside this club? Just explain to me so I don't make any more noise." said Nicholas.
"Alondra left without saying goodbye. And she even brought my check without me knowing," answered Leandre.
He doesn't know why it's more important for him to see Alondra than his money because ever since they had great and memorable sex, he feels like he can't live without her in his life. It's like in every corner of his house he can see her face and a very sweet smile.
"What?"
"She is the one you paid to be with me," answered Leandre.
"So, you want to find her so she can return the money she took? Where does she live?" asked Nicholas.
"Nope."
"It seems to me that she is more important than the money she took from you. You are getting worse, Leandre. Maybe she has reasons why she did that. But I think you are more worried about why she left without saying goodbye to you than the money she took from you. You will not suffer because of the amount she took from you. You have a lot of cash. What is important is how you feel. So, I doubt if she can accept you if she discovers you're married. We can judge her based on the fact that she worked here, so is okay for her to be in a relationship with a married man. They also have more shopping rights. There are a lot of single men there."
"Shut up! You're not helping me, and you're talking too much," Leandre replied. while scowling
But what Nicholas said worried Leandre. And Alondra can change her life and find a good job. So she'll look for a single man. Leandre could no longer agree. It's as if a part of his personality refuses to agree, preferring Alondra to be solely for himself. He doesn't want anyone to own her.
"Why are you silent? If you're always like this, it won't happen," Nicholas suggested.
Leandre's head shook.
"I don't have her phone number," Leandre replied.
Why hadn't he asked for her phone number after they'd been together for days and hours? Leandre sighed and leaned back.
"What? Why?" said Nicholas. "In that case, first ask for a phone number so that when she leaves, you can call her. It's not like you're bothered by that. Life is cruel; now that you've felt love, this is what happens to you."
So Leandre did nothing but return home because nothing awaited him there. He misses her even if they don't see each other every day.
But before he left, he showed Nicholas the photo of Alondra so that if Alondra comes back tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, he can pick her up. And be taken to him. It's good that Nicholas agreed because sometimes that man is just a complainer.
The next day, Alondra woke up at three in the afternoon. She doesn't know why her body is heavy, maybe all his late sleep and body pain have all accumulated so it became like this. She first took a shower and got dressed then left the room carrying her sling bag. She saw Hebrew in the living room watching television.
"Are we leaving? I thought you weren't going back to the city today. You were still asleep when Mathilde looked at you earlier." Hebrew said.
"I'm just tired so it took me a while to wake up. Now we're leaving. Have you eaten yet?" Alondra asked.
"Yes. I was here this morning. That's why I ate with your family." replied Hebrew.
Then her father went to the living room holding her mother's hand with Mathilde following them.
"Are you leaving, daughter?" asked his father.
"Yes. Because I need to go back to work," answered Alondra.
She breathed a sigh of relief because her father is okay and he can stand up and walk but slowly.
"Be careful there. Thank you very much."
Her father was about to come to her to hug her but he was still struggling so she was the only one who approached.
"Everyone be careful here. Just call me when you need something." Alondra said.
"We'll call you just to say hello, but what we need may not be enough. The help you've given us is too much, so what I want is for you to think about yourself. This house you built is too much. " said her father crying.
Alondra laughed.
"I don't want to leave feeling sad. Don't think about the things I've helped here in our house and your lives. We're family so we work together." And answered
"We love you very much." her mom said and kissed her on the cheek.
"Thank you, mother. Won't you accompany me to the terminal, Mathilde?" Alondra asked.
"Not anymore. I have a project to do here at home." Mathilde answered and hugged him tightly.
Alondra was the first to come out followed by Hebrew who was quiet. She had to hurry because the night might catch up with her on the way. A few minutes later they were on their way. Alondra looked around the cold as if it was getting dark.
"My parents said thank you for your help," said Hebrew later on.
"You're welcome."
They reached the terminal so after Alondra said goodbye to Hebrew, she immediately ran to the bus that was about to leave. She almost didn't make it. There was only one left and if she had to wait for another bus, it might be later in the evening. Alondra took her place on the side. She sees only a few passengers. When she sat down, she suddenly grabbed her chest because it was suddenly heaving too much. She was so nervous that she couldn't concentrate. She leaned back in the sit and closed her eyes to relax. The bus also ran for an hour before they reached the city terminal. Alondra quickly found a taxi and drove to the club. But she couldn't get rid of her nervousness. Even if she massages her chest. A few minutes later they arrived. After Alondra paid, she left immediately. It was dark when he reached the club. And her brow furrowed when their eyes met with the man. Maybe she's waiting for someone but he's looking at her and it's like there's recognition in his eyes. She was about to pass by who it was when the man spoke.
"You must be, Alondra."
"Yes, why?"
"Come with me. Someone wants to talk to you." answered the man.
Alondra was suddenly attacked. She didn't remember the man's face being her customer. And who wants to talk to her?
Alondra is hesitant to come along because she doesn't know him.
"Don't worry. I've told you inside. And more thing, you don't need to be afraid because I won't do anything bad to you. I'm happily married." the man smiled and raised his hand in front of him with a wedding ring.
So Alondra came too and the man opened the door for her. After some time they left. She didn't know where they were going because she saw some big trees. The car stopped at the big gate. The man came out and opened the door for her again.
"Just go inside. Someone who wants to talk to you is waiting there." said the man and drove the car away.
Alondra has already pushed the big gate with all her strength because of her small body, she surely won't be able to carry it if she takes it slow. She slowly closed it when she was inside. And she was scared because she didn't see anyone in this big house. So she slowly walked in. When she reached the main door, she pushed it slowly and her jaw dropped at what she saw. She seemed to want to run back and hide. Because she saw Leandre sitting and he looked at her without a smile.
Alondra's knees were shaking as if she couldn't take a step and she would melt at the looks he was giving her. The look full of love that he used to see here is gone. So Alondra knew that he had already found out that she was the one who took the money. If she could be swallowed up by her position, she would agree because she is so ashamed, maybe he is disappointed by the shameful thing she did.
"Where is my money? Will you return it to me or will I send you to jail?" his voice echoed throughout the house.
Alondra's tears started to flow. She doesn't want to go to jail, what about her parents and Mathilde who depend on her? And if she were to return the money, it would not be possible because it had already been used for her father's surgery and she would pay for it, but she did not have that much money to pay for it even if she found many customers. So Alondra had no choice but to kneel.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I didn't want to do that thing but I don't have a choice. My father had to be operated on at that time and a lot of money was needed to save him." Alondra said while wailing.
"That's a lame excuse, Alondra. You can tell me your problem. It's not that you're stealing. I'll help you. What you've done is not acceptable. It needs to be stopped before it gets worse. You must be responsible for the wrongs you've done so come with me to the police station." said Leandre.
"No! I'm begging you. Please, I will pay. I will return that money to you, just don't send me to jail. What about my parents and my sister if I go to jail? Just give me a few months. I will return it I'll give you the money." Alondra said.
"When more? Right now I want you to give me back I don't want to wait a long time."
So Alondra approached Leandre and held his hand. If it's for her freedom, she will do everything so that he doesn't send her to prison. If she had to beg she would. Her family depends only on her and she doesn't want his father to worry because he is not very well yet.
"Please. I'll do anything, just don't put me in jail. I'm begging you." Alondra said and shook Leandre's hand while kneeling but when their eyes met, he didn't even have any emotion or pity in his eyes for her.
"What can you do?" said Leandre out of nowhere so he looked at her.
"Whatever," Alondra answered while wiping her tears.
"Live with me and be my girlfriend. Serve me and follow what I command you," answered Leandre, in a serious tone.
Alondra's face clears up, she can be his girlfriend better than living behind bars for the rest of her life. So with so much joy, she suddenly stood up and jumped the distance between her and Leandre and hugged him tightly.
"Thank you."
Leandre would fall if he didn't hold on to the sofa bed when Alondra jumped on him. He had no intention of imprisoning her; he simply wanted to know why, and he discovered that her father required surgery. It is a sacrifice made in the name of loved ones. All he wanted to do was threaten her with jail so she would find a way to stop him, which is why she agreed to live in the same house as him. Leandre laughed in his head because his plan had worked. He wiped Alondra's wet hair away from her face, which was also wet with tears. He enjoys this sensation. It doesn't matter if they call him crazy as long as he can be with this woman.
"How about my job there?" Alondra asked later.
"You're not going back there. Because I can't allow any other man to touch you when I'm your boyfriend," Leandre answered.
That's why Alondra suddenly left her hug and sat next to her.
"What about my friends there if I'm gone? They are scared and maybe they will replace me with them." Alondra said worriedly.
Leandre approached her and kissed her on the cheek.
"Don't worry, the five of them are no longer there either. I told them when I went there that you won't be working anymore, and they are begging that maybe they can be included when you leave because they can't leave if you aren't there. So, I spend so much money on them, and my savings in the bank are used up. That's the amount you will pay me. Whether you like it or not, you will be forced to stay with me forever."
Alondra didn't even protest what he said, instead she just leaned on the sofa and closed her eyes.
