Chapter 13
Leandre couldn't stand it anymore so he approached them. When he approached, Jade suddenly turned pale. It was like seeing a ghost in his person.
"You don't need to shout, Jade. You and your father are close to each other. Your voice can be heard throughout the house. No matter where you are, your mouth has no brakes. Aren't you happy that your father came to visit you? You are lucky that's because you still have a father who loves you. And don't you feel sorry for your son? He cried because he was afraid of your voice. You shouldn't have shown the child yelling or parent fights." said Leandre.
Jade swallowed and her eyes widened at what he said.
"Why do you know about the child?" Jade asked in a shaky tone.
"I heard everything you two talked about with your father. So you don't need to hide that boy anymore to cover up your past. We have now separated. Maybe you can go with them back home to your province. At this time, I hope you don't deny the child and continue to live just like you dont have an obligation. Because the parent's sin was not the child's fault." answered Leandre.
The pain was evident on Jade's face. Minutes passed,
She knelt in front of him.
"I'm sorry, Leandre. I didn't tell you before because I was afraid you might not accept it. That's just the result of one night of mistakes." Jade said.
So he pulled it upright.
"Don't kneel before me because I'm not a god, Jade. Where is your brain? What are you thinking? The blessings of having a child only come once in our lives. But there are many more men in the world. Your heart is so hard you sympathized with your child for your shamelessness. Can't you see that? The child is a blessing. So I hope you take good care of him. Even if you say you don't like him, he came from you. You gave birth to him and you didn't at least think of aborting that child. That means there is still mercy and love left in your heart." said Leandre.
Jade started crying. She didn't mind if her father stood directly in front of them. The tears streaming down her cheeks did not affect him. Jade's lies were too much for him to forgive, but he has no right to refuse forgiveness, and he has no plans to see her again. So he kissed his stepfather goodbye and left the house. He'll never come back. He wants to go back to his mother's house and spend the night.
When Alondra left work, she didn't realize she had fallen asleep while trying to use the phone Daisy had given her. It's nice to have a phone. She planned to buy Mathilde a phone when she had enough money so that she could communicate with them in the province. She stood up and walked out of the kitchen to get some water. Daisy was not visible inside their room. She may have left her because she had fallen asleep, but she noticed her sitting on the sofa, looking at something on her phone.
"I thought you had already left and joined them?" she asked.
Daisy replied, "Not yet. Clark said I should wait for you to wake up so you can join him at his birthday party."
Alondra smirked.
"Why?"
"I'm not sure. Maybe you'll figure it out one of these days. Get dressed. They all left first, so let's just follow them."
"All right," Alondra said as she entered the kitchen.
She would have been relieved if Daisy had abandoned her, but she wasn't because she planned to take her with her.
And she despises leaving the house, especially at night. And her father will be furious if she is found wandering around the city at night. Because, in his opinion, a woman who goes out at night is insane. However, Alondra is not prejudiced against people who enjoy the nightlife. Of course, they are aware of the difficulties of life, so they do not have the same level of happiness that they once did. Every day that God created, she thought of her family. Perhaps the food she bought for them has run out, and she knows Mathilde will be sad and cry if she doesn't get enough of what she eats. She returned to their room after drinking water. Daisy was already dressed and applying make-up when she noticed her.
Daisy laughed, "You don't want to come because you're so slow to move."
Alondra rolled her eyes.
"Whatever. Can I just wear pants and a t-shirt there?" Alondra asked.
"You can, but this is the best fit for you," Alondra said as she handed her a red whole dress with a slit on the side.
"I won't wear that because my legs were showing," Alondra grumbled.
Daisy chuckles.
"I know you don't like wearing it, but you should get used to it because I can see your true beauty shining through when you wear a dress like this, and it looks great with your black long hair," Daisy advised.
"Really? Why do I feel like that dress doesn't look good on me," answered Alonda, who was only looking at the dress?
The dress is beautiful, but she is not used to seeing her shoulder and adds that there is a slit on the side.
"Sure. Do you want me to curl your hair?" asked Daisy.
"Not anymore. Maybe it won't go back to being straight."
"Okay."
Alondra likes Daisy's hair, it's blonde and curly. Fits her fair skin. Alondra also cannot say that her skin is white but Daisy gave her whitening soap.
"Hurry up and get dressed. Don't look for anything else to wear. That's it. I won't give you that if you don't look good in that dress. And this is the pair of shoes you wear," Daisy said, handing her a pair of maroon doll shoes with a white fabric flower on top.
Alondra was taken aback because she adored the doll shoes. And she was embarrassed to tell Daisy. Because she had already given her a lot.
"What kind of party are we going to? Why do we need to dress up so much?" Alondra inquired as she began to dress in the red dress.
"It's a normal party but why don't we dress up just like this? This is a one-time party." Daisy replied.
"Okay."
She followed the doll's shoes after she finished putting on the dress. Daisy then approached her and applied perfume to her. And only a little make-up.
"Turn around first, Alondra. Oh, see. You look hot. I just want you to know that there are many more beautiful things in the world for you to experience. Don't deny yourself the opportunity to be happy and beautiful," Daisy advised.
Alondra looked in the mirror and was pleased with her appearance. Daisy wasn't lying when she said she felt hot and fierce in this dress. And she was undeniably stunning.
"Let's go. Bring your sling bag and phone. We will take a picture later."
"Okay."
Daisy and Alondra left the house together and went to the side of the highway to look for a taxi to take them to their destination. When a taxi stopped in front of them, they boarded. They arrived at the location after a few minutes. A large establishment with many cars and people outside. Alondra wasn't sure if they could still get in because it was so crowded.
"Where is this?" Alondra inquired.
Daisy responded, "This is the bar house or pub."
"Bar?"
"People who want to drink come here, and there's also a disco," Daisy replied, paying the driver.
"All right."
But, in her mind, Alondra couldn't go to this place, but Daisy grabbed her hand and drew her inside. She has run into several people as a result of their intervention. And she is overshadowed by her small stature. Alondra was about to collapse when a woman approached her from behind, but before she could kiss the floor, she grabbed a soft hand from nowhere. And she noticed they were holding hands, and she wasn't sure if the owner was a man or a woman. Because of the crowd, she couldn't see it. Alondra slowly let go of the hand that was holding her tightly. They, fortunately, passed after a few hours.
Leandre came to a halt when he was suddenly grabbed from behind. He turned around to find out who was holding him. When he felt the strange feelings in the said hold, he was stunned. When he felt the smooth hands, he knew the owner was a woman. He didn't want to let go of that hand just to make room for other customers. Those holds helped Leandre cope with everything he was feeling right now, but he had no idea how to find out who was holding him. He went to the bar by himself because he had nothing else to do. He is also ashamed of Nicholas for fear Ninette will want him to relax.
Leandre was curious about how the person who held his hand felt because holding it felt like an electric current ran through his entire body. When Alondra arrived at the table where their coworkers were, she noticed empty beer bottles. Only now did Alondra discover that the coffee shop had a large staff, but only four men worked there. They all smiled when they saw her, but Clark's reaction was different. His gaze was different as if he couldn't explain what he was looking at. He gave her a warm smile right away.
"You two sit down; why are you taking so long?" Clark asked, his gaze fixed on her.
But Alondra did not respond and instead turned away. Clark's gaze on her made her feel self-conscious. They had another man with them who didn't even look at her, but Clark couldn't take his gaze away from her.
"Have you had a beer, Alondra?" inquired the man with curly hair.
Daisy responded, "She drinks later."
"By the way, my name is Yohan, and I'm single, but I don't want to date you because someone else wants to date you first," Yohan joked.
Even though she didn't agree with what he said, Alondra just smiled. Yohan offered her a beer, but Clark quickly grabbed it.
"Don't you know Alondra doesn't drink beer?" Clark asked.
Clark's voice sounded angry, so everyone fell silent.
"Easy, I know," Yohan replied.
"We're here to enjoy, not fight; we should protect, Alondra; she wouldn't have come because she didn't like this kind of place, but she came out of respect for us," Daisy explained.
Everyone nodded in agreement. Alondra took a look around. She had no idea such a place existed in the city. She was cold and had forgotten to bring a jacket. Alondra admitted to herself that she disliked this type of environment. Someone was smoking on the side and dancing wildly in the center. There's also a man and a woman kissing on the side. This is not a healthy environment for her. She should be aware of the existence of this type of establishment so she can avoid it in the future. She also noticed the glass of juice in front of her.
"Drink that first, Alondra, so you're not thirsty," Clark advised.
"I appreciate it."
"Are you cold? Because their air conditioning is so powerful," Clark asked, his gaze fixed on her.
She couldn't look Clark in the eyes because she appeared shy.
"I'm fine. Please ignore me. By the way, happy birthday. I don't have a present," Alondra joked.
"Thank you. You don't have to give me a gift; just seeing you is enough for me," Clark replied, smiling.
Alondra was silent. She didn't want to talk to this man because he was saying something that she couldn't understand. And she had another feeling that she couldn't name. It was getting late at night and the other customers were going wild. He sees many beautiful and social-looking women flirting with handsome guys. And their colleague is already dancing on the dance floor. The three of them were at their table.
Daisy faced her.
"I felt your boredom, Alondra. Do you want to go home?" asked Daisy.
Alondra nodded.
"I'm thinking more about my father's anger when he finds out that I entered this place than to be happy now," Alondra answered with a laugh.
Daisy, too, laughed.
"You are a wonderful daughter, and your parents are fortunate to have you," Daisy said.
"Not so much," Alondra replied.
Clark offered them dessert.
"You two eat first, so I don't feel like the two of you were forced to come here," Clark joked as he placed two plates of cake on the table.
"Does the bar house have cake now?" Daisy asked.
Clark replied, "My request."
"Wow."
Clark's wealth was obvious to Alondra because he was wearing a nice expensive watch.
