Eleven
The next morning,
Because of the noise downstairs, Leandre awoke. Like yelling. So, even though he was not in the right frame of mind, he left the room. He could hear Emerald's voice as he descended the stairs as if there was an enemy nearby. When he entered the living room, he saw Jade furiously glaring at Emerald, and her sister looked as if she was about to eat someone alive.
"What's all this commotion about?" he asked, his voice firm and audible throughout the house.
His mother sat on the couch, and Cheska stared at him, her eyes wide open. He took a position in front of the four of them. And, based on what he sees, Emerald and Jade are fighting, but his mother simply ignores it because she doesn't want to care while tapping on her phone. Cheska also didn't seem to hear their argument.
"I didn't do anything to your sister; my hair was pulled without my knowledge, and I just came here to pick you up," Jade exclaimed.
In his mind, Leandre laughed. He would be happy if she hadn't cheated on him because she was picking him up now, but he wouldn't be happy if this woman was involved.
"You don't have to shout, Jade; we're not deaf here; and why are you pulling her hair, Emerald?" Leandre asked.
"I'm disgusted with that woman; she came here as if she hadn't done anything wrong, and she's even angrier to ask," Emerald responded.
"You're making up stories to make your brother even angrier with me, because you didn't like me for him even before I noticed," Jade added.
"It's good you feel it because I know you don't do anything sensible in your life. You cheated on my brother face to face, but you're still here one after the other. Why, do you plan to spend all of his money?" Emerald asked.
Jade's rage flared, and she was about to attack Emerald, but her sister grabbed the glass base from the living room table.
"Damn you!" exclaimed Jade.
"All right, try to get closer, and I'll make sure to break this base with your face; I'll just see if you have anything beautiful to show people," Emerald said.
Jade did nothing but stopped What Leandre witnessed left him shaken. The women's fight was vexing. It's been better if they punch each other to end the anger. And Leandre has no idea where Geo is right now; he's sure he'll stop by Emerald; perhaps he went out to make a business proposal.
"Enough of that; why are you here, Jade?" he asked.
Jade raised her head. She didn't seem to appreciate his question. If it had been like before, he would have kissed her passionately.
"I only came here because you didn't come home. I was worried. I looked everywhere for you. You're just here," Jade replied quietly.
He admired Jade's disposition. She is very caring and can be taken care of, but after what she did to him, he couldn't find his love for her deep within his heart. Even though the fact that she would beg him again. He is not like other men who have been cheated on by their wives and were able to forgive them. Because they don't have any children, he can stay and swallow his pride to have a complete family.
"I'll live here now, which will make it easier for me to get to work," Leandre explained calmly.
Jade made a bow.
"How about me? I'm the only one in the house," Jade responded.
"You're the only one who said that regardless of what happens, you have the right to all my property; this is your chance; besides, if you don't want to, you can go home to your parent's house in the province," Leandre said as he sat down next to his mother.
Jade did nothing but go home. He became numb because even though it looked sad, he didn't even feel pity for it. Emerald looked at the front door where Jade came out and looked at her afterward.
"What a bitch. She's the one who rushed here and is still angry because it took her so long to open the gate. She says a lot that we hid you so she wouldn't see you. Immature bitch. If she had made up her mind, for sure the two of you had a good life now." Emerald said at length.
Leandre leaned back.
"I don't even know why she's still at home. The other woman who commits a mistake orcheatst with their husband or boyfriend doesn't show up anymore. They felt ashamed because they realized later on that what they're doing is wrong," said Leandre.
"Maybe trying to fix the mess she created but the damage has been done. I'm not perfect, Leandre. But I've never cheated on anyone I've been in a relationship with before. Is that what someone so beautiful would do?" Emerald said.
Yes. Emerald was right. Jade is so beautiful. Her beauty is beyond perfection. She just wasted everything.
Daisy heard Alondra's voice so she woke up. She opened her eyes. And she saw Daisy looking at her as she finished taking a shower and was dressed in her uniform for work.
"How are you feeling? Is the pain gone?" Daisy asked.
"It's okay but my blood is dripping too much," answered Alondra.
"That's normal for the first day. Can you go to work? You're pale." Daisy said.
"Yes. I can. Besides, I can't be absent because today is my second day." Alondra answered and slowly got up from bed.
She held onto the wall as she entered the bathroom. She won't take a bath. She only brushes her teeth. She was smiling because she saw that there was a new toothbrush in the glass with her name on it. Daisy was very thoughtful. Maybe the man she will fall in love with and her child will grow up to be lucky. A few minutes later she finished washing and brushing her teeth.
She found Daisy combing her hair in front of the mirror.
"Get dressed, Alondra. I already prepared your pad, new pants, and your uniform. I got some earlier at the store so you can wear it." Daisy said.
Alondra smiled.
"Have I done something good to others to deserve your kindness to me?" Alondra teary eyed only said.
Daisy laughs.
"Your kindness is enough. So hurry up before we're late for work. And our food has been waiting on the kitchen table for a while now." Daisy said.
"All right."
A few minutes later, Alondra finished dressing and she ponytailed her hair so she wouldn't get hot.
She and Daisy left the room together and entered the kitchen. There is food on the table. She took a chair and sat down.
"Who's watching your daughter, Daisy? You work here like that?" he asked.
"My baby boy was two years old. I hired a nanny to look for him. Because I no longer have parents and family. I don't know why." Daisy answered with a laugh.
"Don't you know where they are?" Alondra asked.
"I was being abandoned, Alondra. I grew up in an orphanage. And I had no idea who my parents were. That's why when I had a child, I promised myself that no matter what happens and no matter how difficult life is, I will not leave my child." Daisy replied.
Alondra just nodded. She is not lucky in wealth but she is lucky in her parents. Even though they have difficulties in life, they are all together.
They put the plate away after a few minutes because it was almost eight o'clock and the coffee shop was about to open. They returned to the room, and Daisy applied powder to her face and handed it to her. Because Daisy gives her things, Alondra has also learned how to beautify herself.
He just gave her a new bag.
"That's yours, Alondra, so that when you get home, you'll have makeup on. From now on, you must learn to be clear about your body. Look at yourself, your true beauty has come out." Daisy added.
Alondra is taken aback. Daisy's gifts to her were not cheap. She was embarrassed to accept what she gave to her but Daisy kept on insisting.
"I will still receive this bag, but not this phone," Alondra replied.
"Accept it; I can't use it because I bought a new phone last month," Daisy said as she exited the room.
Alondra did nothing but place the items Daisy had given her inside the bag and leave the room. Daisy was the first to leave because she hadn't seen her inside the house. So she went out the gate by herself. Their gazes were drawn to the man who had just exited the gate on the other side after she had locked it. Because of the uniform, he was wearing, she knew he was a shop employee. She didn't look at him or even smile as she walked ahead of him.
"Wait, are you the new applicant?" the man asked.
She raised her hand in response but did not return the gaze. Alondra was aware that the man had simply followed her without saying anything. She went straight into her kitchen. She could hear the man calling out to her, but she ignored him. She wore an apron to protect her clothes from getting wet. There were a lot of dirty plates in the sink. So she began washing them. The door opened, but Alondra didn't turn around; she just kept washing. A cup of coffee was placed beside her. She remembered the man's smiling face from earlier. Alondra raised her brows because she didn't like the man's smile, which implied that they were close to each other.
"I think you gave it to me by mistake?" Alondra asked, her eyebrows raised.
He simply laughed at her reaction.
"I'll give you that coffee Daisy ordered because she's busy," said the man.
"Really? Thank you, and you may depart," Alondra said.
Because she noticed the man behind her had no intention of leaving.
Even though she appears innocent and naive, Alondra is acutely aware of the man's movements. She can read in any case. Her lips twisted in anticipation of this man making a move on her.
"By the way, my name is Clark," the man said, extending his hand for a handshake.
"There's no need for a handshake because my hand is dirty and still wet," Alondra replied flatly.
The man chuckled.
"You don't need to send me away because I know how to get out. I just want to meet you, Alondra. You don't need to be afraid because we're here to work together, so it's okay for us to get to know each other," Clark said.
Alondra grimaced.
"You already know my name; why are you still here?" she replied. "When Mrs. Abra came in here and saw us talking during work hours, I threatened to drown you in the sink if I was scolded."
Clark just laughed, oblivious to the fact that she didn't want to talk to him. What will their coworkers think when they discover they are both insides? She still does not want a problem at work.
"Don't worry, Mrs. Abra is currently out of town, so you don't have to worry about that. I have to go. See you later, Alondra, Babe," Clark said as he walked away.
Clark's final words shocked Alondra, who raised her brows. Did she address her as babe? Her brow furrowed in rage. Maybe that man thought she was an easy-to-get type of woman, but he was wrong about her. Alondra finished washing an hour later. She also began slowly wiping the plates and placing them in the cabinet. She sat down after that because her small waist appeared to be dislocated from exhaustion. Her body is also aching as a result of her current period.
