Chapter 36

He saw Alondra just pass through the living room and go up to the bedroom. So he followed it with his gaze. While Alondra was going up the stairs, she felt like she was going to fall, so she held on to the baluster. She deliberately kept quiet because she had noticed Emerald looking at her maybe trying to read her character and she didn't want her to know that she was a prostitute that her brother took from the club. She took some clothes from the closet and quickly put them on. She will only wear simple clothes so that she does not look like a woman who is almost naked if she wears clothes. And she heard a phone ringing so she thought it was her phone so she saw it on top of the bed. She looked at it knowing it was Leandre's. And a text message caught her attention. She was depressed when she saw it was a message came from Leandre's girlfriend she thinks that a sweetheart was indicating the last words. Alondra put the phone back on the bed and sat down in the small chair near the drawer. Her heart does not want to accept that he has a real woman in his life. And she is like a woman who will pay only if it is her fault and she does not want to assume. She only knew him by name but apart from that, she didn't know anything else. She was putting on make-up when Leandre entered but she didn't look at him yet. Leandre was frowning because he saw Alondra dressed and putting make-up on her face.
"Where are you going?" he asked her.
"Why are you keeping on asking? I'm not going to run away. I have to pay the money I took from you, right?" Alondra replied and continued to apply make-up.
Leandre frowned because he had no idea why she turned out like this, they were okay earlier in the kitchen.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing. I'm going to leave first and just buy something in the city. Don't accompany me because I'll be home early." he answered and left the room.
Leandre clenches his fist. He doesn't like it when he gets angry that he doesn't know. He took his phone and carried it. He won't take a bath anymore and he puts on clothes. Because he will accompany her to the city. Because she already knew his anger she was just leaving without informing him. He already knows what his behavior is when he gets angry. It's confusing.
He went down the stairs and saw that Alondra was gone, only Emerald. It also stood up.
"Are you okay?"
"Yes."
"They say Alondra is coming with us. She's going to the city."
Leandre just nodded and went out the front door. He hurriedly exited the gate when his and Alondra's eyes met, he entered the car. Leandre started to get angry. All in all, he didn't want someone to be angry with him without him knowing. He signaled to Emerald that she should be the one to drive the car because she was going to meet Alondra.
Alondra didn't even look at him when he stepped aside. Emerald drove the car away. He tried to hold her hand but it didn't budge.
"I will not run away," Alondra said.
"I know. But if you treat me like that when I don't know my sin, that's not right," said Leandre.
Alondra did not answer but looked outside. Leandre didn't bother asking anymore. They reached the city an hour later. They took Alondra near the mall. He was about to go out because he intended to accompany her when Emerald spoke.
"Mommy is sending you home, brother," he said causing Leandre to frown.
It wasn't even mentioned before. But he preferred to remain silent. And he looked at Alondra who was also looking at him.
"Is it okay with you to be alone?" asked Leandre.
"Yes," answered Alondra.
"Take care," Leandre said, kissing Alondra on the lips even though Emerald was still looking.
"Thank you for the ride, Emmie," Alondra said and walked into the mall.
And he didn't take his eyes off her until she was out of his sight.
"Welcome. Let's go, Leandre," Emerald said, and got back into the car.
Leandre also followed.
"What are you doing, Emerald? You thought I didn't know that you only did that so I wouldn't hurt Alondra." Leandre complained as Emerald started the car.
"Let her be. Do you know that women get suffocated when men are too strict about what they can do? You have the assurance that she will not betray you. You are so lucky, though. I was stunned when I saw that she was taking care of you as if a kid even though I'm in front of you and she doesn't care. Even I didn't even do that to Gio because he has his own hands. And she was so sweet, I can see that she even put a dish on the plate meant for mine. And she called me Emmie that even once I didn't even hear you say that to me. A rare attitude for a woman is not easy to find. If she was the one you were with before, for sure your married life will be successful. You didn't end up with the wrong person. And one more thing, the skin is so beautiful and smooth. But the question is, does she know that you are married?" asked Emerald which made Leandre silent.
"No."
"Why? You should be honest with her. If she accepts it is good, if not, just let her go." Emerald said.
"No way! I will take care of Jade and I's divorce so don't tell her the truth." Leandre said worriedly.
"Okay. I won't interfere, but if you don't do it right away, I will be forced to tell her the truth. Because she doesn't deserve to be another woman. If I can, I will take care of disposing of your bitch ex-wife. Because she deserves to become a number one rather than another woman. But I felt guilty with the situation seeing her intentions towards you while you are lying to her." Emerald said.
Leandre was silent. Because Emerald was right all along. While Alondra was walking inside the mall, she didn't see that she bumped into someone, she managed to hold onto it so she wouldn't fall, and she even saw that she was pregnant. When their eyes met, Alondra smiled because she didn't expect Daisy to be the one she bumped into. Suddenly tears flowed on Daisy and she hugged her tightly.
"I miss you, Alondra. I'm sorry because I didn't even say hello to you. I thought what's going on with you, seeing you right now that you're okay makes me feel at ease." Daisy said as she hugged her.
She loosened her grip on Daisy and looked at her.
"Are you married?" Alondra asked.
"Kazmir and I are together and this will be our first child," Daisy replied smiling.
"It's good, You already found your match," Alondra said.
"What about you? Have you ever had a boyfriend? I see you as very beautiful." asked Daisy.
"Not yet. I'm just going to look for it. No matter how beautiful it is, if there's no real intention to court and gave an interest to me, nothing will happen." Alondra answered with a laugh.
She didn't want to tell Daisy what was going to happen in her life in the nine months they weren't together.
"Are you sure? By the way, are you still working at the coffee shop?"
"Not anymore. I was being fired too when I came back when I found out you left too," answered Alondra.
"That old woman has a really bad attitude. How is your family's life in the province?"
"So far it's okay. We're getting up little by little." Alondra answered with a bitter smile.
She wants to admit to Daisy that she's with someone right now they live in the same house but she doesn't want to be assumed. All her dreams crumbled just because of a message she read. She wants to wake up in fantasy with a man who has in love with another woman. She will always think that she will just pay the debt and they will not have any kind of relationship.
Daisy invited her to eat at the restaurant first and then talk. And when they went inside, she couldn't avoid bumping into someone again, this time it was a man. His face is wrinkled, obviously hurt. So she held his forehead and said at the same time,
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to," she said, Alondra didn't know why she was so unlucky today.
So Daisy invited the man to their table and found out his name was Garret.
Leandre was restless when he probably didn't give Alondra the money to use to buy the things she wanted to buy, but he got even more annoyed when he received messages from Nicholas that Alondra was eating with a man inside the restaurant. And he didn't realize that it was night now. And how could he call her if he didn't get her number? He was about to leave their house when he received another message from Nicholas saying that he was with Alondra and Ninette in the car and waiting for him in front of the restaurant. So he didn't waste any more time but his mood was tinged. And he wanted to know who the man was with her. But what he wants to prevent is that Nicholas might introduce Alondra to Ninette as his girlfriend and it would slip that he is married. Alondra was silent inside Nicholas's car with his wife, Ninette. They are a kind couple so he feels safe but there's something in her that she doesn't seem to understand. She was looking at her as if she wanted to tell her something.
"Do you want to tell me something, Ninette? You've been looking at me for a while or maybe you're pregnant and you want your child to look like me." Alondra said laughing.
Ninette just smiled.
"Sort of. Because you're beautiful."
"Thank you."
Then she saw that Leandre got out of the car and knocked on the window of the car near her. So she opened the door and went out. He didn't even smile at her. She doesn't know anymore that maybe Leandre was getting even to her because she didn't give him nice treatment earlier.
She saw Leandre knock on Nicholas' car. It's like he's not himself, his face looks bad. She opened the car door and got out after thanking Ninette and Nicholas. Leandre walked first and did not speak to her. So Alondra had no choice but to enter next to him. The car started but they didn't talk and they were both silents. For the length of their travel.
"Why don't you talk to me? Is that man happier to be with than me?" Leandre asked out of nowhere which made Alondra stunned.
What is this man talking about? Where did he find the news he asked her. And which man is he referring to? And Alondra's soul seemed to disappear from her body when the car suddenly sped up.
"Damn you! If you intend to kill yourself, be alone," she shouted.
I didn't know that this man's attitude is so scary. And seeing him like this right now she is scared. So when they arrived at the house, Alondra immediately ran inside and went straight to the kitchen and drank water. And she went inside the bathroom and locked herself. She doesn't want to die because she hasn't finished paying her debt. So it's up to him in his life now but she took care of him more so she came out of the bathroom and took the apron that was hanging and put it on maybe he was just hungry that's why he act like that.
