Chapter 38

Before leaving Alondra outside the mall, Leandre called Emerald first. When his sister told him he was on his way, he left her. Alondra had been waiting for Emerald for about 30 minutes before she arrived. He was smiling at her, and he was with a girl about Mathilde's age, whom Alondra believes is a niece because Leandre has no other siblings.
When Emerald got close to her, she kissed her on the cheek.

"Have you been expecting us for a long time?" I apologize. "This girl showed up," Emerald said, looking to the side.

"Not so much," Alondra replied.



“You must be Uncle Leandre’s girlfriend?” she asked.
Alondra smiled widely. The news spread quickly.
“Did your Uncle tell you that?” Alondra asked.
“No. I just feel it. By the way, I’m Francheska, mommy Emerald’s only daughter.” the girl said, smiling.
Alondra gets stunned. It turns out that Emerald has an adult child. When did she get married?
“Oh my, I was shocked by that. You had a grown-up daughter, Emerald.” Alondra said.
“Yeah. Isn’t it obvious? Are we just like siblings?” Emerald said with a laugh.
“Yeah.”
“It’s obvious that I’m a few years older than you, that’s why.”
“Yes.”
So Alondra and Cheska put their arms around each other and they entered the mall together. While Emerald was laughing after them.
“You are so beyond beautiful. That’s why I like you. Because we have the same beauty.” Cheska said, making Alondra giggle.
“Of course. I like you too.”
And they still held each other’s arms when they were inside the mall and she didn’t check to see if her mommy was still following them.
Later on,
“Are you okay there, mommy? Let’s catch up with Aunt Alondra because we just met.” Alondra said smiling.
“Go on, sweetheart,” Emerald answered while laughing and looking at her.


And Cheska continues to pull her.
"What are you going to buy here, Aunt Alondra? I wouldn't have known you if I hadn't forced mommy to come here with her," Cheska said.

"I'm going to buy notebooks for my online class, and Leandre suggested that I only take online classes at first." "Perhaps there are things now that you have to jump in college when you pass the one where you enrolled, the opportunity for that individual who didn't make it -school in their youth," Alondra replied.



"Yeah. Any age can study as long as you are determined," answered Cheska.

Alondra assumed Francheska was judging her because of the state of her life, especially since her Uncle is wealthy, but her response was positive, so Alondra was pleased. She and Cheska were already at the school supplies a few minutes later. And he was the one who went out and got the items for her.

"What is your job, Aunt? You can just not work because no matter how many years you and Uncle spend together, he will be able to keep you alive and give you a better living; I hope you don't hurt him because he is too kind; but I saw most of the couples nowadays, even if they don't have fame, their life became better as long as they are both in love."



"Of course. Besides, I'm not after his wealth. I can work on my own without depending on others." answered Alondra.
"Good to hear that," Cheska answered with a smile.

As much as possible, Alondra didn't want Leandre's family to know what her job was. And the worst scenario is that people will believe that the two of them are in a relationship even though there isn't. "Still at the mall," Emerald replied.
"Where is Alondra?"
"Wandered around the whole mall with Cheska," Emerald answered, which made Leandre freeze.
"What? Why do you bring your daughter with you? What if she can tell Alondra about Jade's?"
"I haven't said it yet because I'm behind them so I can hear what the two of them are talking about. And Cheska is eighteen years old so she knows what to say because we just went to the city and just now she asked for a favor." Emerald replied.
"Okay."
Leandre is relieved that Cheska won't tell Alondra the truth, but if they spend some time together and have a lot to talk about, what she fears is if Alondra asks about her life. He was about to return to what he was doing when the door opened and Nicholas entered.
"I thought your honeymoon with Alondra would never end? But of course who can get over it right away if your wife is so beautiful? But the question is how long?" Nicholas said.
"Shut up! are you just here to add to my problems?" asked Leandre.

"No, I'm here to remind you to stop hurting people who care about you. She and Ninette have met. It's good that my wife knows what's going on, and even though I didn't brief her, she already knows, but Alondra is nice.

The truth is that she did not deserve a married man; there are many singles out there; why would she settle for you if you have no intention of divorcing her? Is it because you dislike her or are curious about her personality?"



Leandre fell silent and leaned on the swivel chair.
"Now the three of them are together at the mall. Alondra, Emerald and Cheska." Leandre said problematically.
"See? She's close to the truth and no secret won't be revealed. And who will she meet in your family again? Jade or Aunt Lucille? If she and Jade ever come face to face. Who will you choose?"

Leandre breathed easier after Nicholas said goodbye. "How dare you ruin my life!" she shouted.
Good thing there was no one else inside but the two of them. She saw his cheeks turn red and Mr. Harway felt guilty.
"Alondra..."


"Then what? You're not going to say anything about why you did that. You're so cruel that you won't help if you don't get anything in return. I'll put you in jail," Alondra said.
That frightened Mr. Harway.
"No, we'll discuss it; how much do you want? I'll double the money I give you," Mr. Harway said.

"Money isn't always necessary, Mr. Harway, so wait for my retaliation for what you did to me; I'll make sure you rub the bars," she said as she exited the toilet even though she hadn't peed yet.


When Alondra saw the face of Satan, she burst out laughing. All of her blood had risen to her brain, ready to explode at any moment. He was simply terrified when he saw her because he had sinned. Alondra took a deep breath before approaching the three of them at their table. Emerald looked at her as if she was curious because her mood had changed. Instead of continuing to eat, she ordered a cake for Leandre.
