Chapter 16

"Would you have married an unemployed man?"
"Why not? If he's kind and can't hurt me. It's okay. Marriage is happier if there are no problems even if the one you love doesn't have a job. Because there are many jobs to be found. I can work and he can be left at home and will take care of our baby. What's happening nowadays as long as the important thing is to understand each other. Then to have someone you love a lot but can't even respect you." Emerald replied.

Leandre remained silent because everything Emerald said struck him.
Emerald rose to her feet and hugged him from behind.

"Are you okay?" Emerald asked. "Why are you suddenly quiet, brother? I didn't mean to hurt you with what I said; all I want is for you to wake up to the reality of life; I know you still love her even though she cheated on you."

He was confronted by Emerald.

"How about we move on, sister?" he asked quietly.

Emerald stepped aside and sat on the couch next to his bed.

"Find something to divert your attention, go travel, and ask for leave from the office," Emerald said, shaking her head. "But you didn't do the things I said; instead, you always get drunk and sleep at other people's houses."

Because Emerald said right, Leandre just shook his head. He's been doing it for a year now. Perhaps this is why he is unable to move on because he is constantly reminded of what Jade did. However, they advise feeling the pain until it subsides. But he refuses to leave and refuses to forget. Perhaps this is why he is unable to move on. He's unlikely to show up to work today. He will first accompany Emerald to the city.

Alondra awoke at six o'clock in the morning. Daisy is no longer sleeping in her bed. So she went into the bathroom and washed her face before brushing her teeth. Alondra emerged from the bathroom a few minutes later, looking for something to wear. Daisy entered after he had finished dressing.
"I thought you were still sleeping?" Daisy asked.
"I just awoke; where is your guest?" Alondra asked.

"He left this morning at four a.m., and I didn't realize it because I just woke up when the gate rang and I looked to see who came in, so I just took him outside," Daisy explained.

"What's his name?" Alondra asked.
"He's Benedict. Half-Turkish American." Daisy answered while putting makeup on her face.
"That's why he has a mustache and a tall nose. Have you taken a bath?"
"I just finished taking a shower. My hair is no longer wet." Daisy replied.
They exited the room together and went to the kitchen. They both sat down and began to eat.

"Did they all make it home?" Alondra asked, seemingly out of nowhere.

"Perhaps, I didn't notice. Why don't they come home, they have work the next day?" Daisy responded.

They left the house a few minutes later and went straight into the coffee shop.

Daisy went inside and said, "I'll bring you some coffee later, Alondra; I forgot to make it earlier."

"At the very least, don't," Alondra replied as she entered her workplace.

Alondra donned an apron and began cleaning. Her first action was to sweep. She also cleaned the cabinets. She even cleaned yesterday, but the dust has returned. Leandre had finished changing his clothes and went outside. Emerald was sitting in the living room, he discovered. He has finished dressing in city attire.
"I'll accompany you, even if you have to go to the office," Emerald said.
"Whatever. You didn't go with your husband, but you'll go with me? I'll do business there as well," Leandre responded with a laugh.

"That's it. Geo's face is boring. We're just together every day in our home in France," Emerald replied, rolling her eyes, and leaving the house.

As a result, he followed her outside.

"I will report you to Geo." he's joking.
"Don't report. I won't be afraid." Emerald answered and got inside her car.
"Why are you there in the driver's seat?" Leandre asked.
"I will drive the car now. I miss being the driver." Emerald replied.
So Leandre rode in the back.

"What are you doing there, brother?" Emerald said and turned to him.

"You said you missed driving, so I'm going to ride here so you can look like a real driver," Leandre replied, laughing loudly.
"Shut up! I'm going to get even with you."

"Whatever. Drive now. Where exactly are we going?" Leandre asked later.

"Because I saw a new coffee shop here in town, and their coffees look delicious, so I want to go now," Emerald replied before starting her car.

Leandre closed his eyes and leaned back. Today, he'd rather sleep than wander. He had another hangover. Perhaps he should abstain from alcohol. They reached the city an hour later. As slow as Emerald drives. So he fell asleep in his chair. It was the first voice he heard.
"Wake up, brother. I hope you don't come here with me. You're going to sleep too. Are you going to come inside? Drink some hot coffee here to refresh yourself." Emerald said.
"Go inside first. I'll be next," answered Leandre.
He still wants to sleep again. After Emerald left, he locked the door and closed his eyes. While Alondra was busy washing the dishes so she didn't realize the time. As far as he remembers, she has been working at the coffee shop for almost a month. And what she was waiting for was her salary and took leave and go home to them. The door opened and Daisy came in carrying food. She put it on the table.
"What is that?" Alondra asked as she removed her apron and approached the table.
"Food for lunch," Daisy replied.
"What time is it? Why is it so early? Besides, you don't have to do this every day, Daisy. I can go out and get myself some food." Alondra said.
"Let it go. I'm happy to serve you," Daisy replied.
"I felt embarrassed by these gestures of yours," Alondra replied.
"No need to feel that. I caught some news outside." Daisy said.
"What is that?"
