Court case.
A huge crowd stood at the front of the Langose supreme court. Everyone anticipated the verdict and what was going to happen in the courtroom. The news of kemisola's case spread like wide fire in the country. Everyone was talking about it and they wanted to know the outcome.
When Kyle Falana and Jeremy came out of their different cars, the reporters rushed to them and began to throw a series of questions but neither of them answered as they both walked into the courtroom.
The courtroom was filled with different people who were not present for the first case. The feathers sat at the front row in the courtroom. A few Reporters were allowed into the court after taking an oath to remain silent throughout the case.
"All rise," the bailiff announced as Leonard walked into the courtroom.
After stating the reason for being in the courtroom, the case started from the prosecutor's side. Kyle Falana called the first witness who was lead into the witness box by the bailiff. After swearing, an oath, the witness who was an old woman talked about how violent Kemisola could get. The old who was Kemisola and Sola's landlady spoke on how Kemisola had an aggressive personality.?
"She tends to get angry easily. I remember her arguing with sola and she destroyed their door." The woman informed the court of Kemisola's personality and went on and on until she was taken away from the witness box after Jeremy told the judge that he had no questions for the old woman.
Kyle called the next witness who was a middle-aged man that sat beside Kemisola on a bus ride. He spoke on how Kemisola almost hit the bus driver because he almost passed her bus top. Kemisola shouted at the man's confession and told the court that he was lying because she had never met him before but she was ordered to remain silent or she would be held in contempt.
"It's gonna be alright," Jeremy touched her hand and caress it. "It going to be fine," he assured her.
The judge asked Jeremy if he had questions for the man but Jeremy said no and the case continued.
Finally, after Kyle was done with his witnesses and it was Jeremy's turn.
"Is the defense ready for it's the case?" Leonard asked with a smirk on his face.
"Yes, your honor. I call my first witness." Jeremy replied with a grin on his face.
Lillian was bought to the witness stand by the bailiff and was met to say her name and swore an oath.
"I promise to say nothing but the truth, so help me God" she repeated after the clerk.
When they were done, Jeremy stood up from his seat and walked towards the witness box.
"Where were you on the night of? September 25th, 2015?" He asked.
"I followed my sister because I got suspicious of a call she received," Lillian replied with her head bow to the ground.? She couldn't look Kemisola in the eyes because the guilt of that night was eating her up.
"You followed your sister because you got suspicious of her right?", Jeremy asked and Lillian nodded.
" where did you follow her to?"
"I followed her to the old mansion of Gordon. After she got the suspicious call, I followed her because she looked afraid after receiving the call. I saw her got off a taxi and entered into a waiting car and when I called her, she lied that she was almost at her hostel so I decided to follow the car."
"What did you see when you got there?" Jeremy asked.
Kyle falling stared hard at Lillian and wondered how Jeremy got hold of her. He wondered how the girl was too smart to follow her sister. Meanwhile, Daniel whispered into munachi's ears as they waited for her to respond to? Jeremy's questions.
"A witness? How could Leonard have missed this?" He whispered into munachi's ear.
"Let's not get ahead of ourselves and see if they have any evidence," munachi replied and turned to face Lillian who was trembling where she stood.
"Miss Lillian," Jeremy called her attention because he felt she was drifting off and whatever she said next was going to determine how the case was going to end.
"Why isn't she replying? I dislike what she is doing right now," Kendra who sat beside you on the second row on the left side of the courtroom complained angrily about Lillian's silence.
"Does the witness wishes to leave?" Leonard asked.
"No," Lillian quickly said and breathe heavily then she turned to look at Kemisola in the eyes. "That's night, I saw my sister getting raped by Hamilton's boys and as if that wasn't enough, they killed my sister and framed an innocent soul," Lillian confessed with tears strolling down her face. She mouthed I'm sorry to Kemisola and broke down into tears.
The Court grew silent at Lillian's confession but Kyle stood up and objected to it.
"Objection, your honor."
"Sustained!"
Kyle walked close to the witness stand and smiled at Lillian who was still crying and starting at Kemisola.
"How dare you come here and spurt out nonsense? Where is your proof to this miss Lillian?"
"You think I would be standing here without having proof!" Lillian yelled angrily at Kyle. "I have solid proof against the Hamilton's and I can confidently say that it was they who raped and killed my sister." Lillian gritted her teeth as she spoke.
"You have proof after five years, how true is that?" Kyle scoffed and pointed to Lillian. "This woman here is a liar."
"Objection your honor, he is scaring the witness."
"Sustained! Attorney Kyle, be warned," Leonard ordered.
Kyle smiled wickedly and went back to his seat.
"I hereby present to the court a video made by the witness on the night of September 25, 2015," Jeremy raised a brown folder and showed it to the court. "Here is evidence taken by my witness here five years ago. The defendant requested the court to play this video," Jeremy informed them.
Leonard's eyes almost popped out where he sat but he couldn't do anything. If he disregards the video, the jurors might be suspicious that he doesn't want the case to be settled but what was he supposed to do when Daniel and the rest of the feathers were glaring at him at the front row where they sat.
"The court permits to play the video," Leonard gulped before he spoke up.
"Thank you, your honor. " Jeremy said and handed the folder to the clerk. The clerk bought out the disk from the brown paper and inserted it into the disk drive. She played the video and a large screen that was above the judge's head showed the video.
The courtroom grew silent as the video evidence was played. The video showed how sola was molested and killed and how Kemisola was called to the scene. For a few minutes, nobody spoke a word until Kyle stood up and objected to the video.
"How authentic is this video? It could be fake!" Kyle yelled at Jeremy angrily.
"It authentic prosecutor Kyle and I wish the jurors could testify to it," Jeremy replied.
The jurors all nodded their heads at Jeremy as a sign of approval of the video.
"Thank you, jurors."
Kyle didn't back down even after he was proved wrong so he decided to ask Lillian a question he knew she couldn't answer.
"If you took this video, why wasn't it used as evidence five years ago."
Lillian bites her fingernails and scratched her head. She didn't know what to say at first, but when she saw the anxious look on kemisola's face, she sighed deeply before replying to Kyle.
"I was only fifteen then. What do you think would happened if a girl of fifteen years of age burst into the courtroom and said she had evidence?" Lillian asked but didn't wait for Kyle's reply as she had the perfect reply to her question.
"The court would disregard my evidence and since the case was too fast, I had no time to present the evidence because I was grieving."
Jeremy smiled at Lillian's reply and almost laughed when he saw the look on Kyle's face.
" your honor. I would like to have the video marked as defendant exhibit two and also ask that it should be admitted into evidence," Jeremy requested and bow.
"Does the prosecutor have any objections?" Leonard asked Kyle who was lost for words and couldn't say anything. "Prosecutor Kyle," Leonard called.
Kyle shook his head because he had no idea what to say. What was he going to say? Probably tell Jeremy that he was lying. Kyle underestimates Jeremy and he was paying for it.
"No more objections you're honor, "he declared.
Leonard's eyes grew and he didn't wish for anything but to stab Kyle in the eyes. How could he stand there and not do anything?
" The video will be admitted as defendant exhibit two," he declared and hit the gavel.
"Thank you, your honor. That would be all," Jeremy replied with a bow and went back to his seat.
"The witness is excused"
The clerk took Lillian's hand and lead her out of the witness stand.
"The court is now on break. We'll resume for the second section in 30 minutes," Leonard announced and hit the gavel.
"All rise!"

You had it in control Leonard!" Daniel repeated thrice. "Your stupid control is going to make us lose this case and you know what that means, my sons would go to jail!" He yelled and banged the desk inside Leonard's chamber.
As soon as the first section ended,? The feathers followed Leonard into his chamber and they had to stop Daniel from attacking Leonard.
"How was I suppose to know that the boy had such evidence?" Leonard retorted.
"That's is because you are foolish Leonard. For a judge, you seem foolish!" Daniel shouted.
"Foolish? I wasn't foolish when I helped solve the case five years ago and I wasn't foolish when I sentenced a girl to jail over your son's crimes," Leonard said and pushed Daniel's hand off the collar of his gown.
"That's was your job Leonard and you just failed terribly at it"
"Oh now I'm supposed to watch over the crimes of your sons. This is your fault for not raising your children well not mine." Leonard replied.
"How dare you?" Daniel roared and pushed Leonard to the nearest wall with force.
"That's is enough! You both are adults, Please act like one!"Simone shouted angrily and pushed Daniel off Leonard. " your shouting isn't going to solve this case. The jurors are always fair and they do not seem to be on our side so what should we do instead of fighting like children?"
Leonard sighed deeply and took a seat. "This case is totally out of our hands Simone and I don't know what to do."
"This is the fault of that useless prosecutor," Alissa said.
"My advice is that you take your children out of the country before everything ends," park advised.
"That's a good idea," Daniel said and bought out his phone from his pocket, he dialed Andre's number and Andre picked up the first ring." take my children to langue port, I will be with you soon."
"I've been trying to reach your boss because I couldn't find your children."
"What do you mean?" Daniel tightened his grip around the phone as he listened to what Andre said."what do you mean?" he yelled angrily and threw his phone to the wall.
"What is going on?" Simone asked.
With shaking fingers, Daniel muttered under his breathe. "My children had been taken."

Jeremy washed his face in the court washroom and when he looked up, he saw Kyle's eyes glaring at him. He ignored him and continued to wash his face.
"You think you've won this case? You think you are that good?" Kyle confronted as he stood beside Jeremy.
Jeremy looked at him and smiled. "Didn't you say to me before when this case started that brain is useless in this country?" Jeremy scoffed, "I'm sorry to announce to you because all it took was my brain"
"Bullshit Akinsola," Kelly retorted.
"It the truth prosecutor because the law is not dead"
"You think you would be safe once this case ends? They will find you and kill you!"
"So they are after me?" Jeremy laughed and shook his head at Kyle's foolishness. "Only a coward like you cowers in fear. Didn't you sign an oath when you first become a prosecutor to be fair? What you are doing is unfair and a crime? Nobody cares again because everyone thinks the? law is dead!" Jeremy told him and walked out of the washroom. As he headed to the courtroom, someone pushed him to the corner.
