Chapter 52

Daniel Hamilton followed two masked men into an underground that was built in Daniel's parking lot. It was once the feathers meeting room when they first started but after things changed for them, they stopped using the place but the place held a lot of bad memories.
"Where is she?" Daniel questioned the men as they entered through the door that leads to the underground.
The masked men pointed to Lara where she laid. Her hands were tied to her legs and she was tossed around in a corner like a bag of potato. The room was large for an underground. It has a fireplace and a round table with six chairs.
"Wake her up," Daniel commanded the men.
He took a seat on one of the chairs and watched as one of the men kicked Lara in the stomach.
"Haaaaaa," Lara screamed as the foot of the man hit her stomach. She opened her eyes and let out another scream as she felt pains in her arm. She struggled to free her hands from the rope but it didn't work.?
"Seems the tiger is awake," Daniel commented and beckoned to one of the guys to untie her.
Lara was untied and was placed on a chair opposite Daniel.
"So I found out that you beat my best hitman to stupor. You must be a strong girl." Daniel said to her but Lara gave no reply instead she watched him with all the hatred she had for him.
"Seems you ain't the talker but I can make you talk," Daniel smirked and commanded one of the men to hit her on her injured arm.
"Fuck," Lara groaned out in pain.
"Now you are talking." Daniel laughed.
"Keep laughing because it might be your last one," Lara told him.
Daniel stopped laughing and glared at her for a while before bursting into another laughter. "You are just like your father. Freeman Johnson was an outspoken man."
"Don't you dare talk about my father," Lara stood up from his seat and rushed to hit Daniel but she was pushed down by one of the masked men?
"But it the truth dear. Your father was a strong man and I admire his courage but he was stupid. He was a fool just like Abraham Akinsola and his son.? They thought they could change the world but puuuuff, they disappeared from the world."
Lara scoffed and pointed a finger at him. "At least they were brave unlike you who is a coward. You are a coward who hides under the name feathers and manipulates poor and weak people. They were brave men and even though they didn't save the world, they made history. The history they made is why you could still talk about them!" Lara shouted and beat her chest. "I am not ashamed to stand up and fight for what is right."
"Tsk, Tsk, Tsk. Such a young promising destiny but where would that lead you to...." Daniel paused and waited for her answer and when she didn't reply, Daniel, shouted in her face. "Nowhere! It is not going to get you anywhere!"He rubbed his hands together and heavy sigh. " Without power and riches, the world is nothing. There is a rule that guides the world which is power and fame."
"Power and riches don't make you God."
"Who is God? Who cares about God? He doesn't exist. He is just a figment of your imagination."
Lara laughed and shifted on her chair. "God is alive and he is waiting for the right time to punish you for all your wrongdoings."
"When is that?" Daniel questioned her. "Is your God going to save you from my hand right now?" He smirked and pointed to the men.
"What do you mean?" Lara questioned but she didn't get a reply as she was tied to the chair.
Daniel stood up from his seat and walked to the inner part of the room. This part has a shelf filled with books but it wasn't just a shelf, it was a wall leading to another room. Daniel pushed the shelf and it opened.
"Bring her here!" He commanded them.
Lara was bought into the room and she almost screamed when she saw the room.
The room was filled with chemicals of a different kind. It was like a science laboratory except that it was bigger. The chemicals were in different colors and packed into different containers.
"This is what I have been trying to achieve for a long time. I have planned this for more than twenty years and now that I am close to achieving it, I will do anything to get rid of anyone who tries to stop me. " Daniel told her and walked to a container filled with chemicals.
"What are you trying to achieve with all of this?"
"Power and money!" Daniel told her.
"You killed all those people because you are trying to invent some stupid chemicals?" Lara questioned.
"I wish they were stupid chemicals but it's not my dear. These are weapons for terrorists and rich politicians."
"You are making weapons for terrorists. Aren't you ashamed of yourself? You killed all those people because of this?" Lara shouted.
Daniel laughed and shook his head. "You think those politicians and rich businessmen have pure money? No, they don't! Most of them are thieves who live off poor men's hardship. Some of them are also in support of terrorism. It's like a fun game for them when they see people die."
"Killing all those people on park airline was also fun right?" Lara demanded and burst into tears. "Those people have family and every day they wished their family was around to be with them. That's is also the case for the victims of terrorism." She cried. "Millions of people that die every day have children, they have wives, they have someone waiting for them! Nobody cares as long as it doesn't affect their own family. It is inhumane!" Lara yelled and kicked her legs together.
"That's how the world is my dear.? No one is innocent anymore." Daniel said sadly.
"Why did you bring me here? If you want to kill me then just get over with it."
"Oh no! I am not killing you yet but I will when the skyscraper launching is finished."
"It never going to happen!" Lara shouted and then began to laugh. "It not going to work out!"
"But it is. That's why you are here. I know you have a piece of evidence against me but I am going to destroy it." Daniel promised.
"You won't get a thing from me, Daniel Hamilton! I am going to expose you to the world!" Lara chuckled. "I am going to ruin you."
Daniel rushed to her and raised her head with his hand. He smiled at her and then gave her a deafening slap. "I always win my dear. My men told me you have a friend. Your friend tried to save you but my men were faster. I have sent my men to her and sooner they will return with her head and every piece of evidence you have against me." Daniel said and then smiled brightly.
"Don't you dare touch my friend! You are a monster!"
"I have heard worst my dear. I'll let you be for now until then enjoy your last days." Daniel said to her. He beckoned the men to carry her out of the room.
The men did as told but Lara bites one of them and rushed to Daniel. She bites into his ears and took a chunk of meat out of his ears before she was pulled away from him.
Lara spat out the chunk and then laugh like a maniac. "That's is for my family!" She roared.
One of the men slapped her on the face and she smiled at Daniel before she blacked out.
"Make sure she doesn't escape this room," Daniel instructed and pressed his hands into his bleeding ear. The blood trail down his neck into his expensive Gucci suit. Daniel looked at Lara before walking out of the room.
Lara threw on the cold floor like a bag and left with a bleeding mouth and a bleeding heart.

Another crash and another crash again and again. It was the hundredth plate Kendra was breaking in her kitchen to relieve her of the anger she felt towards the kidnap of Lara.
"This isn't helping!" She shouted to no one in particular.
Kendra rushed from the kitchen to her room and rummaged through her bag where she found a gun in one of her bags. She placed the gun inside her pocket and used her black v neck tees to cover it up.
"I am coming for you feathers!" She declared.
Kendra took a backpack from her drawer and packed something such as her laptop, flash drive, the drive Jeremy gave to her to unlock, and bullets. When she was done, she zipped her bag and walked into her living room.
"I am sorry Jeremy that I went for the feathers on my own. This is all......" The crashing down of her front door made her jump and switched into a defensive mode. Kendra ran into her room and closed the door behind her.
A gunshot sounded and bullets flew everywhere but she quickly hid behind her closet.
The gunshots grew nearer and Kendra covered her ears while looking for an alternative. She looked towards her window and quickly rushed there. She raised the window and positioned herself to jump. Her window was 20 feet high and she was taking her time to plan how she would jump down but when her bedroom door burst opened Kendra took the chance to jump but a bullet flew and hit her on her left thigh.
"Fuck!" Kendra cursed as she hit the ground. The pain made her laid on the ground for a few seconds. "Damn!" She groaned out in pain. When another gunshot sounded, Kendra limped out of the place into the street. As she ran with her bleeding leg, she looked back and saw a white Venza following her. Kendra turned and faced the car, she bought out the gun from her pocket and shoot right at the driver. The bullet hit the driver in his hand and it made the car turn sideways.
Kendra took the chance and ran away. Her leg was becoming painful and bleeding heavily as she ran into the streets. The people she encountered on the street ran away from her when they saw blood flowing down her trouser and trailing behind her.? Kendra struggles to walk but every step she took was becoming hazy for her. Even when she reached the middle of the road, she couldn't go on any longer and ran into a black oncoming vehicle.
Kendra fell to the ground and took a final look at the sky.
"It's beautiful, " she whispered.
