Chapter 54
Alina's POV
I still feel that Ryan's presence last night was true. As far as I remember, Ryan visited me here and even accompanied me until I fell asleep. Am I just dreaming? Or am I hallucinating? Or maybe Ryan really came to see me especially for me but then he left after I fell asleep pretty soundly last night? Erm... I started to remember incident after incident in detail that I had experienced since last night. Trying to remember everything and reviewing, maybe it's true that Ryan was here with me and accompanied me for a few hours. In fact, I felt that last night I had an intimate scene with Ryan. Can I just wonder and imagine or fantasize about last night? Hmm...
Knock knock knock.
"Miss Alina, may I come in, I brought breakfast for you along with the medicine you need to take." The sound of someone from outside was heard asking permission behind the door politely by knocking first. Looks like it's the nurse who is on duty to serve me here.
I let her in by allowing her to enter this room.
"Yes of course, please come in." She interrupted my daydream which I was struggling to put together even though I was remembering something that I experienced last night.
"Okay, thank you."
The nurse opened the door and then came into this room and walked over to me carrying a tray containing a closed zinc container, maybe it was my breakfast and some medicine that I had to take this morning.
"Good morning to afternoon Miss." She greeted me with a friendly smile.
I smiled slightly at hwe slightly.
"Did you just wake up from sleep?" Try to lighten the atmosphere with a friendly impression.
I didn't answer anything because I was confused about what to say.
"Well, eat first so you have energy and can take your medicine, Miss! Do you want me to feed you or can you do it yourself?"
"Just let me."
I started eating and was only able to get a few mouthfuls into my mouth. Because I don't feel like eating and I feel a bit nauseous. I ate this just to force myself to take medicine.
After I finished taking the medicine I asked this nurse while she was still here.
"Hey, can I leave this room to just take a walk or have something to do outside? It's still in the hospital area. Is that okay?"
"Yes, of course you can, Miss, as long as you don't open the IV tube. You have to carry it everywhere with you so that you don't feel weak when you're outside."
"Does the nurse want to take me out of the room?"
"I'd be happy to take you with me. Where do you think you are going?"
"I want to go to the laboratory."
"Um, okay." As if she wanted to ask my reason for going to the laboratory but she didn't think so and without further ado she immediately agreed to take me there right now. She immediately brought a wheelchair which was neatly stored in the corner of this room. Now the wheelchair has welcomed me to sit in it.
"Miss, can you get up by yourself? Do you need me to help you get up to get into this wheelchair?" She asked full of care and gentleness. The service was very friendly so it made me feel comfortable and didn't feel awkward at all. The atmosphere started to lighten up and along the way he started to chat with me after I was helped into the wheelchair then she pushed the wheelchair towards the outside. Throughout the hospital hallway she kept talking to me and I started to accept her presence.
Finally I arrived at the laboratory and asked if there was a patient named Jake who needed a blood donor. It turns out that it is true that a patient named Jake Gyllenhaal is being treated at this hospital. He is in critical condition and needs a blood donation as soon as possible because there is a shortage of blood and the oxygen supply is starting to get low to his brain and heart. So the heart pump starts to weaken. I got detailed information here regarding Jake's condition. After hearing everything and getting confirmation that Jake, Ryan and Mark's friend, was really being cared for here, I was surprised. Because that means that last night Ryan really came to my room, I wasn't dreaming or hallucinating. So it's true that Ryan was present in this room and accompanied me last night. Immediately I spontaneously touched my lips with my own fingers. Remembering last night's incident with Ryan.
"To be able to donate blood, you have to have your body weight weighed and your blood pressure checked first, your blood type checked, your hemoglobin level checked and an HIV AIDS test first. Are you ready for all this?"
"Yes, I'm ready."
"Okay then, when can we start?"
"Right now."
"Certain?"
"Yes, of course."
"Okay, I will start taking a sample of your blood to put it into the test kit. First, please weigh your weight. If possible, we will continue to the next stage."
"Oh yeah okay."
"Do you want me to help you get on the scale?" Asked the nurse who had taken me here to this laboratory room.
"Sure." I started holding the nurse's hand for support and she hugged me around my waist and shoulders. So that I don't miss out. After I managed to stand on the scale, I was fixed and only my hand was holding her hand so that it was still balanced. She held my hand while holding an IV flask in one hand.
It turns out I weigh enough to donate blood. Now we just have to move on to the next stage to be able to continue the blood donation process. I did series after series smoothly. Even though when I got hit by the needle I felt a little shocked because it hurt a bit. But I tried to hold it in. Don't complain at all so that the process continues to run smoothly without any obstacles and is not accompanied by feelings of doubt. I remain confident in my determination.
Moreover, on the other hand, I want to help Jake get better. I also feel that my life is pointless if I just stay alone in my room waiting for someone to come to visit and look after me. Even when it comes to paying the hospital bill later, I'm still really confused. But I hope there will be a miracle in the middle of my journey.
"Miss, are you sure you want to donate your blood to Mr. Jake Gyllenhaal?" The laboratory staff asked me again to confirm whether my intentions were complete or whether I was still unsure and wanted to give up my intention not to donate my blood to Jake.
"I believe it." Without the slightest hesitation, I answered firmly. I really feel confident.
