Chapter 63
Ryan's POV
After the officer at the registration counter invited me to ask questions, I immediately stated my intention in coming here. Without hesitation, immediately ask the officer. He started looking for a list of Alina's names on the computer in front of him.
"I want to ask you something."
"Please, sir!"
"Has the patient in inpatient room number 235 been moved?"
"In whose name?"
"Alina Richards."
"Um, wait a moment, let me look on the list first."
"Yes, sir, please! I'll wait."
I waited a while but finally got an answer.
"This is sir, the patient in the name of Alina has been checked out. The doctor who treated her has been allowed to go home since yesterday afternoon but has only been out of her inpatient room since this morning."
"Oh, I see, okay then. Thank you for the information." I immediately walked slowly in the other direction, somewhat confused and remained silent for a moment, thinking about Alina's whereabouts now. Was Alina picked up by her brother? Or will Alina go home alone? Um... but then I started to calm down a bit because I could confirm that Alina would have arrived at her house if it was true that she had been home since this morning. I started to feel relieved and walked back to Jake's inpatient room. Walking without a heavy burden because the burden on my mind had been reduced.
I walked with the feeling that I didn't think too much about Alina's current condition. Until I arrived in front of Jake's room. When I was about to go in, I suddenly saw my friends packing up their belongings, including Jake's. Because we have been staying here with Jake for several days to take turns and look after him while he is being cared for. I felt surprised and strange about what my friends were doing. It seems like there is something wrong.
I immediately asked all my friends who were here. Because I was so curious about what had happened since I was not among them because I was busy ensuring Alina's safety.
"Hey, why are you guys packing? What's wrong? What happened? Has Jake been allowed to go home?" I asked innocently. I asked them a lot of questions and they didn't have time to answer even one of my questions. Then I turned to Jake but I saw Jake still lying weakly without an IV tube attached. It looks like the nurse has helped remove it. I feel even more confused by the current appearance.
"Hey, aren't you going to answer even one question so I don't feel curious about what's happening right now?"
Absolutely no one made a sound. I looked at each of my friends' faces, looking withered and gloomy. They were busy packing their luggage and focusing on their own daydreams. Meanwhile I was treated like I wasn't here. It's not that they're angry with me but it seems like they're not feeling passionate right now. Especially just to answer my question. Maybe later I will find out for myself what happened, it seems like that's what they had in mind.
Suddenly Rei stopped his activities of fixing his belongings. Then he walked towards me and patted me on the shoulder and said something that was the answer to my question just now.
"Listen guys." Patted my shoulder with his hand.
I turned to look at my shoulder which was being patted then I turned my gaze back to Rei's face.
"What's wrong? What happened Rei?"
Instantly my other friends stopped their activities of packing up their luggage and came closer to me and Rei until I was half surrounded by my friends.
Rei took a deep breath then started to speak.
"Look, Ryan, you have to hear it and you have to know that Jake can no longer be treated in this hospital. So Jake is being sent home and treated at home on the advice of the doctor. But the doctor will still give a prescription for Jake and will occasionally check his condition. Jake is at home according to the schedule that has been determined and agreed upon together. He has not received a referral letter to move to another hospital, polyclinic or anything like that."
"But why?" I asked again and was very surprised by the decision that had been made by the hospital.
"This is all because of the chaos that has occurred repeatedly at this hospital. Jordan's arrival has caused chaos at this hospital twice and caused many losses that had to be borne by the hospital. Apart from public facilities and other equipment. Security and comfort The patients and staff became very threatened and felt disturbed. They were worried that Jordan would come back looking for Jake and us here. So the hospital didn't want to take too many risks and chose to come up with an alternative without giving up on their responsibility to help Jake recover and recover. . There will be new related illnesses later. So if you're safe, it's better to just treat yourself at home," he said.
"Um, I see." I sighed and found it difficult to comment any more after hearing Rei's explanation.
"Oh yes, but I won't let go of my responsibilities. I will still visit Jake even though he is being cared for at home. Even if possible, I will stay overnight at the house you live in just in case there is any more commotion that could be caused by Jordan's arrival at your house. Then don't worry because I will continue to pay for Jake during the treatment period until he recovers completely." Rei continued.
"Um, okay then." I could only respond like this without saying many more words because I felt confused about what to say to Rei.
"Wait! Wait! I heard he will still be in charge. What does this mean? What I don't know about the background of this incident is all about Jake's tragedy and Jordan's sudden appearance and always lurking around lately? Is there something wrong? hide it from me? Come on, answer it and try to explain it to me!" Dylan began to realize that something was wrong regarding this incident, which clearly had something to do with Rei. Dylan seemed to be starting to express his emotions.
