CHAPTER 62

CHAPTER SIXTY TWO
The morning rays of the sun warmed their way onto the bareness of my naked skin but I felt too comfortable to move a muscle let alone open my eyes. My mind briefly skirted over the details of yesterday evening just as I felt Collins’ arm snake its way over my waist. The feel of his touch was healing, magically making my body come alive. I forced my eyes open, letting my gaze fall on sleeping face. He was still deep in his sleep, a small frown finding its way in his picture-perfect face. Collins did affect me to a certain extent and every part of me knew that inescapable fact but at this time of my life it was very dangerous to act on those feelings.

As I kept on gazing at his build, I wondered for a moment what could have been so lacking about this man to the point his ex-wife cheated on him but then again, who was I to judge after what I did to William? Ah! William. He was leaving town today and a part of me wanted to call him one last time just to say goodbye. No, that would be a very bad idea. I pushed him to back of my mind, turning my attention to Collins just in time to find steering from his sleep. His eyes held mine for a few seconds then a mesmerizing smile slowly encroached his face.

“Good morning,” His deep morning voice drew me out of my trance.

I smiled in response as I let my fingers trace delicately over his arm all the way to his biceps before I suddenly leaned in, smashing my lips hard against his. I let myself enjoy every part of this kiss, marking every inch of his lips. Maybe this was the last time I was letting my body get control of my mind and I was planning to memorize as much as possible.

“What was that?” He mumbled dazed when I pulled back.

“A goodbye,” I answered, attempting to get off the bed but not before he stopped me, effortless pulling me towards him before he flipped me over, his broad build hovering over mine.

I was aware of his naked skin touching mine, heat spreading from the tip of my hair, down to my nipples which impulsively grew hardened before moving lower, to the space between my legs. It was spreading fast, making me grow wet and wanting.

“One morning round?”

Morning sex.

My favorite time of getting railed real hard. Nothing beat it because at that time when your body is fresh, feeling everything else clearly and at this moment, I was willing to make one last mistake. In response to his questioned, I let his gaze hold mine as I reached lower in his abdomen, his dick already pulsating with hardness.

Taking that as a yes, he dipped down, flicking his tongue expertly over my nipples as I bit down my lower lip. My eyes impulsively shut as his teeth delicately bit on the edges while his fingers simultaneously teased my entrance, expertly teasing the folds. If he kept this up, I was going to climax before he even put his dick inside me. However, the moment was soon short lived when Sasha’s scream tore through the house.

“What the hell?” I cussed, as Collis quickly moved away as we both simultaneously reached for the closest thing we could reach.

I didn’t care that I was butt-naked under Collins’ shirt as I raced down the stairs with Collins right behind me, dressed in his jeans.

“Are you okay Sasha?” I questioned at the Sasha sitting on her butt on the floor, her eyes wide open in a mixture of fear and shock.

“William,” She muttered, signaling towards the open door and when I turned to where she was looking, my lips opened wide to release a scream.

William was lying on the door step, seemingly unconscious with blood stains all over him and the clear marks of a fang on his neck, right next to where Drake had bitten him. I was about to rush forward but Collins pulled me to a stop.

“Don’t get any closer until I check him out first,” he approached cautiously, bending down. With bated breath, I waited for a few seconds. He studied him then reached down to touch his neck, probably checking for a pulse before he suddenly withdrew, straightening with something akin to morrow crossing his eyes.

“We have a problem,” he announced.

“Is he…” I trailed off, not wanting to let the dreadful word roll off my lips.

“I don’t know. I need to call Jaden right now. He is the only one who can decipher these things but if what has happened to William is what I think it is, then we have a huge problem in our hands,” he said, already dialing a number on his phone.

When I turned to Sasha, she was now up on her feet, dusting the back of her shorts.

“Sasha,” I started.

“I’m not talking to you, Nadia,” she said, refusing to meet my gaze.

“I’m sorry, okay? Yesterday I was not exactly in my right mind. Everything was happening so fast around me and I was getting more helpless. My life is full of more questions instead of answers and Trina…” I paused,” she is nothing like we remember her. I know you don’t want to talk to me but Trina needs help. I saw here yesterday and even though she is good now, her behavior is the complete opposite of Trina we know,”

“Am I late to the party? Hmmm…this is interesting,” Ugh! Drake, again.

He was dressed in black suit pants a dark shirt, swinging car keys in his right hand.

I walked out, past Collins, walking over to Drake and slapping him hard across his cheek.

“Why the hell did you do that to him? Is it because he is my ex-fiancée who still happens to be still in love with me?”

“First off, I’m really disappointed that you’d think I’d stoop so low to let some weak immortal make me insecure. Second, I thought we were finally getting somewhere but the I pull up at your door in the morning and not only does Collins White happen to be here but you accuse me off something as stupid as that,”

“Well, who else is as impulsive as you in killing innocent people?” I countered, my arms crossed.

“I could think of one newly turned hybrid,” he smirked, pushing past me as he walked over to where William lay, completely motionless and with one quick glance, he met my gaze,” Well, this is even more interesting. He was not bitten by a hybrid,”

“And how would you know?” Collins countered.

“Because I happen to be one. You friend was bitten by a vampire which means there is one lurking in town and oh, you might want to restrain him because in less than a minute he is going to wake up and he is going to be very hungry,” he smirked, then offered me his stretched palm to take,” Now how about we get out of here, love? You certainly do not want to be here when he wakes up taking into account how is very much mad at you for breaking his heart,”

I glanced at William, feeling guilt mixed with pain wash up in me. Why was it that innocent people who only cared about my well-being were getting hurt because of me?

“A v-vampire in Woodcave? That would be highly impossible. They know they are not supposed to get in town unless on official business,” Collins muttered.

“Oh maybe they are here for war and-“Suddenly I was whisked off my feet and onto Collins arms just as William’s eyes suddenly opened.

He stared blackly around him before his eyes pinning on Sasha who stood rooted to the ground. Lucky for her, Drake was quicker, easily knocking William unconscious.

“Now I’m going to repeat this one more time. If you want to make it out alive, then you might want to lock him somewhere secure before he comes to,” Drake warned.

“I’m taking him. A vampire lurking in town is something serious and that means we need more guards and oh, Drake, if I were you, I’d skip town because its really about to get messy for you soon enough,” Collins warned.

“I’d love to see you try and make sure to pass my greetings to Carson. Tell him I’d be down for a couple of drinks if he ever asks me,”

The banter between the two men was lost on me as my gaze zeroed on William on the ground. First Trina and now William. Who was next? Sasha? Mrs. Heathers? No, I could not let anything happen to them.

“I’m going to find that vampire and I’m going to kill him,” I muttered suddenly, making then stow men stop talking and look at me.
