CHAPTER 68
CHAPTER SIXTY-EIGHT
We stopped outside room twenty-eight, my head still caught up in Trina’s words. She was right about me. I hurt everybody around me and while they were getting the repercussions, I remained unscathed. I felt her hand on my shoulder, impulsively turning my face to look at Trina.
“Can you at least put on a show of enthusiasm? I heard that Caleb is such a hottie and I’m really planning on getting some tonight. So don’t you fucking blow it,” she whispered under her breath, almost as though she hadn’t been very emotional with me just a minute ago.
“Okay,” I said just as thirty-ish, rather good-looking man walked over to us with a charming smile on his face.
“You must be the two beautiful ladies accompanying Mr. Drake. This way please,” He said, motioning to another room.
“No, we are supposed to meet him here,” I pointed out.
Trina grabbed my wrist, smiling at the man,” Don’t mind her. Which room is it again?”
I glanced at her with my lips parted in surprise because I was damn sure Drake had mentioned room twenty-eight. Trina remained unfazed, shrugging instead when she met my gaze.
“Okay, this way,” He led the way, while I mouthed a what the fuck to uncaring Trina who straight-out ignored me.
The room was at the end of the hallway and seemingly much bigger and more lavish that the rest. When we walked in, my lips dipped partly in surprise. There were three poles on the dance floor, inhabited by one guy and two women, all of them almost completely naked and twisting perfectly around them seductively. To add to it, there were two men sitting next to Drake, with strippers with them. Four out of the six strippers had bite marks on their necks and judging from the blood stains on the Drake and one of the men, then they were the perpetrators. I almost threw up in mouth but begrudgingly enough, I had to swallow it down and force a smile on my face.
“And I thought my night could not get any…spicier. I’m taking the one on the right. Something about peach ticks my dragon,” So that was the dragon Alpha. He was hot, *very hot,* and any lady would fall for that. He gave the vibe of a man that will make you want to wear nothing when making him dinner.
“Hands off that one. She is mine,” Drake announced rather possessively.
“I called dibs first,” The Dragon Alpha countered.
As the two men went back and forth, I shifted my eyes to Trina who had her eyes locked with who I assumed to be Caleb. Wait, Caleb? That was the guy that sank his teeth in William, turning him into a vampire. Speaking of Caleb, I needed to see him and start making everything right and starting with person I wronged first, seemed like the way to go.
“Well, while you two men are fighting on whatever the hell it is that somehow seems to involve me, I should probably take the chance to point out that I’m not exactly open to interacting with either you in any other way apart from business. If you could please put your…pleasure on stop for a few minutes, I would love to go ahead and point out reasons why you should be joining hands with me in this war against the wolves,”
“Wait, this is the Dela Fuente kid you were talking about? No offense but I’d rather have her naked on my bed than let her lead me into a fight. Unless of course she is planning to use her looks as defense,” Caleb chuckled. Right at that minute, I wanted to tear his fingers off his body.
“Its Caleb, right? Well, Caleb I’m just going to assume I heard nothing from you in the past five seconds. I’ll pretend I walked in here and you were pretty respectful. So shall we do this again or do I have to kill you tonight?” I inquired.
“She has got fire. I like it,” The dragon Alpha smirked.
“Well, if she doesn’t present something I can bite, I wouldn’t mind a threesome with her and her friend later on tonight. Two gorgeous women in my bed naked, is something I would actually like,” I decidedly did not like Caleb or his self-conceited smirk. He did remind me of a jock back in high school that couldn’t handle a girl being better than him and would constantly point our something derogatory.
“Seems like Drake briefed you about me,” I began but stopped on noticing, Caleb’s eyes fixated on my breasts,” My eyes are up here,”
“Can’t blame me for staring though, now can you?”
Before I could retort, Drake shot up from where he sat and the next thing I knew was Caleb pinned hard against his own seat.
“You say one more word and this deal is done,” He seethed.
“Deal? Attending this meeting should be considered a favor to your pretty friend here. You must be so damn desperate if you can stoop so low as to ask me for help. What? Did the bad scary hybrid turn out not to be so scary after all? Is he just some-“he didn’t get to finish before Drake rammed his fist on his jaw.
“You want to try that again, Caleb? Because I’m willing to give you a good explanation of who I’m,”
“Let’s not fight here. If you badly want this place to stink with testosterone, how about you take it outside, huh? Look, we are here for the same thing and that is to end the werewolves,” I interjected. Drake let go of Caleb, resuming his earlier seating position but not before he shot him one warning glare.
“I don’t think you understand, Nadia. You are new to this world. You have no idea how it actually is. I appreciate the effort because at least for the first time in a while, I got myself a little vacation but let’s face it; the wolves are not just some kind you can approach out of nowhere. If they even got wind of some revolt being planned against them, they would hunt down everyone involved. I’m an Alpha of an entire town of dragons. If anything was ever to happen to any member of my dragon family I would lose. So, I’m sorry but instead of jumping in a fire I didn’t start, I’ll keep away,” The Dragon Alpha pointed out. I needed to convinced them somehow.
“You are right. I have no idea about this whole thing except for the fact that the wolves massacred my entire family because of a notion that I’m a weapon against them. I may not know much about this world but I do know what’s it’s like to want the werewolves dead,” I pointed out.
“Wanting them dead is not enough. I need something motivating to-“ He persisted but Caleb interrupted him and this time gone was the flirty him.
“Wait, a weapon against the wolves? I’ve heard titbits about that,” he said, his voice laced with seriousness. So, all this talk about me wanting revenge of my murdered family didn’t raise their intertest until the whole weapon talk came? Hmmm.
“Yeah. See, I told you it would be worth it,” Drake boasted, crossing his legs as he leaned back in his seat.
“Go ahead. How exactly are you a weapon?” The one question I actually had no idea on what to answer.
“Well, the answer lies in my memories. I haven’t been able to retrieve them just yet but once I do, I promise you that we won’t lose this fight. Carson and all those wolves have to-“
“Let me stop you right there,” Caleb stood up,” Is this a game to you? Do I look that stupid to you? We sit here and just when I think you are finally giving us something credible, it turns out to be some made up story. How about you try to be more creative with your lies next time, huh?”
“Its not a lie. You think the werewolves would massacre almost all the hunters and their families for something that’s merely a story? She is the only remaining Dela Fuente child, with hunter blood running through from two of the original hunters; Cassius and Dela Fuente. The witches claimed she was something special; a weapon against werewolves,”
“The same witches that are rumored to be working with the werewolves? You expect us to believe something as ridiculous as that?”
“You know what? I’ve been hearing this back and forth going on here for a quite a while and I’m honestly sick of it. Whether she is a weapon against werewolves or not, I know damn well she is willing to take them down. So, its either you are with her or you are not? Caleb, if you are that much of a coward, you can hide in your coffin once the sun rises and you, Darius, you can hide in your town and pray the wolves wouldn’t turn on you like they turned on the hunters,” Trina interjected, the room falling silent.
