Chapter 16: Patience


Alpha Aiden POV

I was able to detect the trap set by wolf hunters but it can’t hold me down even if I am weak right now. I climbed the hill and stood listening to every conversation taking place trying to listen to the doctor's voice when I suddenly felt a strange pain and with my eyes closed,I saw myself a thousand years ago doing the same thing.
“Aiden, there you are.”

“shhh,listen to what I am saying.” I said to the person that I can’t see his face.
“What could be that?”

“Sometimes I wonder how both of us are Alpha's and you can’t be sensitive,I can hear danger coming, the blood sucking demons.”

“That can’t be,they won’t be bold enough to come into our territory.” I assured him.

“If you doubt me, call your witchy friends and ask them if they have any weird visions of the blood sucking demons,I will be going for a hunt,can’t wait to reap them out.”

I suddenly opened my eyes, it seems I have passed out for one time and it looks like I am recalling my memory gradually,I know with time I will remember everything.

Suddenly I caught the smell of my mate, Naomi, what is she doing here?
I could hear her heart beat beating so fast like she is in danger and the wind of the demon, a blood sucking demon,I could not shift but I moved with speed to rescue my mate and saw the blood sucking demon about to harm her,instantly I brought out my claws and reaped out his heart and he died and faded off.

I saw Naomi Injured and I felt like killing the demon over and over again. She passed out and I carried her in bridal style to leave the woods and return to her home.I guess I will be meeting the doctor another day.I need to make sure she gets better now.

I could smell the wolf hunters approaching my direction and there is no way I can bypass them,it’s best I just kill them all and leave.
They stopped me saying, ”Who are you? And why are you in the woods with your wife?”
“Oh,I didn’t know,we came here playing hide and seek and I found her injured, allow me take her home for treatment.” I replied when I noticed they don’t look at me as a threat but a regular human that broke the rules of entering the woods.

“Please do, sorry for keeping you waiting and this is my card,call me in case you see any dangerous animal moving around your home at night.” I know he is talking about my kind and I have this urge to just kill them now but I won’t do so because I am carrying Naomi and I don’t want her to see me do it.

“Thank you,I will call you once I notice any strange thing at night,I will leave now and sorry for breaking in.” I replied, acting more politely before I took my leave from the place.

I walked to Naomi's house and placed her on the bed cleaning her injury and the dirt on her body.

I didn’t know what to do next when I heard a knock at the door and I could smell the doctor, the blood of an Omega smelling outside Naomi home and I opened for him.

“Perfect timing, Naomi is injured.” I said.

He rushed in without wanting to know what happened to her or not.I guess he was truthful when he told me all he cares about is saving lives.
I walked to the room and he was fast in treating her and he said to me, ”She looks fine to me, just a minor injury.”
“Good to know and I am glad you came at the right time,I was out to look for you and I left the house without telling her,I never knew she would look for me.”

“Yes she will, this is human for you, she might not know about us but to protect her, can you do something else?” he asked.
“What is that?”
“Hide your identity from her,it will save her and a human who doesn't know about accepting to be mate to our kind, you need to forget about mate for now and think about your memory coming back.”

“I will get my memories back but I can’t forget my mate, soon she will accept me fully.”
“I thought a powerful Alpha like you doesn't need a human mate.”
I smiled and took my seat close to Naomi on the bed and caressed her hair saying, ”That was what I said from the very beginning but now I feel so attached to her that I feel it’s my mission to protect her,I can’t let leave her sight.”

He took a deep breath and said, ”Then you need to win her heart as a human,I will guide you on what to do to get that achievement as well.”
“Really?”

“Yes but are you really going to live like a human because of her?”
“If I can protect her then I don’t mind and when I get my memory back I will know who my enemies are and my quest as well.”
“Okay that’s not a problem,I will get you a phone and give you some tips on winning a lady of this age.”

I smiled knowing I will get to have my mate to myself.
“What about the witch you talked about? When is she coming to help me or when will you take me to her?”
“That will be next week, she is out of the country and will be returning to the country next week,I hope you can wait.”

“Sure I can wait but there is something I need you to do for me.” I requested when I recalled the police asking for my identity card and I had no to present.
“Get me an identity card and let the police have a record of me.” I said to him,
“That is quite difficult to do but I will try my best to make sure I get one for you though it will take time.”

“I think what I have learnt so far is patience,it took me time to finally get access to Naomi so I will wait.” I said to him and he gave a brief smile .

Suddenly Naomi started shivering and shooting, ”Demon, Demon, there is a demon, help.” We both held her but she kept shouting with her eyes closed and Lucas gave her some sedatives that put her to sleep.
“What just happened?” I questioned.
“Tell me what happened to her and what led to her injury as well,I need to know what I am dealing with.” He requested and I took a deep breath saying,”A blood sucking demon tried to attack her and I reaped the heart out.”
“Oh no, did she see you?”

“I doubt that because she was all covered with fear and passed out, why?”

“Because she is not supposed to see a vampire and a werewolf reaping their heart out, this is going to give her mental stress and it will not be good for her health.”
“What can I do to stop it?”
“When she wakes up and asks some questions, tell her it never happened and she was hallucinating when the witch comes, she will help her forget the memories.”
“You mean wipe her memories?”
