“We are coming for her and you will not be there to protect her.“

I can't just walk out on her to get the vampire in my claws, I need to think of a way to kill it before the blood-sucking demon harms my mate.


“Why are you looking at me that way? You don't want to kiss me?” she asked, leaving my arms, I don't know how to tell her but I no longer feel comfortable around here.

“I am sorry, I just felt uncomfortable here.”

“No problem, I understand you don't want to do it, I won't force you but you better not embarrass me on his birthday. Let's go, we need to begin shopping now so I can make use of tomorrow to teach you everything you need to know before the birthday.”

I was confused, is she doing her birthday or her best friend? I had to ask.
“Who's birthday?”

“You know what, meet me outside, I am done talking to you.” What did I do that's making her this angry? I had to hasten my footstep to catch up with her speed.

I don't know why she is angry, I just asked to know who is celebrating her birthday, that Is not enough reason for her to be angry.

I saw a beautiful necklace displayed at a shop. I can easily catch her smell even if I delay it a little, I need to check it out and I am sure it will suit her.

I went inside to ask about it and I was told the amount of money to get, too bad I don't even have money, what will I do to get money?

Still there thinking, I suddenly hear her heartbeat beating so fast and I heard some voices saying, “She is going to die, why can't she run off immediately.“

I heard a fast-moving vehicle, my mate was in danger, I had to rush with speed not minding if I expose myself, I needed to protect her and as a werewolf, I got extraordinary strength.

I held her close with my left hand and stopped the car with my right hand. I didn't know I would do the car much damage by the way.

Now everything is fine, I turned to her asking,

“Are you hurt?” She just nodded, I guess she is still in shock at what just happened.


The driver came out of the car and I knew what he planned to do. I had to signal Red, my wolf form. I don't know how I did it but I feel only an immortal can have the power to put fear in humans.

“Did you just?” He was trembling and no matter what happens, he will not be able to tell anyone what he just saw, if he tries fear will take over.

“Let's leave here so we won't attract anyone.”
I said and she nodded, we took another taxi and headed to a boutique.
“Aiden, did you stop a moving vehicle? Or was I dreaming?” She finally asked the question.

“Just pretend nothing happened, let's just continue our day as planned,” I replied to her, avoiding her eyes.

“You don't just expect me to pretend nothing just happened, Aiden you stopped a moving vehicle with just your right hand and caused it so much damage, not just that, what did you do to the driver that made him so scared as well?”

“Naomi, let's just forget about it, I don't want to talk about it,” I had to carry a serious look on my face.

“Fine, I will forget about it today but prepare my answers another day okay?”

“I don't have any answers for you.”
Why is she so interested in me?

“How rude of you to speak to me in that manner, you know what, let me not ruin my happy mood, we are here already, let's just do some shopping and return home,” She said angrily after paying the driver and I stepped out with her.

We entered the boutique and walked down to the next section filled with male attires. “Sit down, I got this but just know I hate you ."

I nodded. I wonder why she is still angry even when I saved her from death, not even a thank you, humans are so ungrateful.



“Aiden, go with him to the changing room to try out this outfit.” She said pointing at the worker who took them from her and gave signs for me to follow him.

“All of them?” There is no way I am doing this, it's going to be stressful.

“Yes all of them and also know you are not just trying these on, I am still getting more for you.”

“Okay fine." I guess I need to do it willingly so she won't command me to do so.

I entered the dressing room and wore one of the clothes, the worker corrected me and taught me how to wear them.

I finally got it and stepped out for her to see,


“Nice one, try the other,” She said to me and I went back in. She is so annoying.

“Is she your girlfriend?“ The worker asked.

“Why do you ask?“

“Only a lady that likes you will take you out shopping, select the clothes for you as well, and want to pay, don't let her slip your fingers.“ He advised and I nodded still trying others.
Ladies could not resist my charms and I could hear all the nice words they used on me but just one walked up to me,

“Hey handsome, you look great in this outfit.”

“Thank you.” This is a public place, I should be calm and nice as well, so I won't embarrass Naomi, I smiled at her but Naomi came at us angrily saying,

“Why are you talking to my man, hum? Do you want a death wish?” Did Naomi just called me her man?

The lady left without saying a word and she frowned at me“Why did you smile back at her?”

“She loves my outfit, moreover you said you hated me.” I had to remind her of her words.

“Really? You are so ungrateful to me, do you wish to know the truth about this outfit you are wearing? I will tell you, you look horrible in it and it doesn't suit you.”

Did she just do that to me? She walked to the worker,

“I will pay for the rest excluding the one he is wearing, I don't like it on him.”

“Yes ma'am.”

I didn't say a word to her, I was thinking if she has fully developed real feelings for me, if she hates the mate word then I will ask her out the way the doctor advises, either way, she will still be my woman but I need to get the truth from her.

We returned home together, I don't know what came over me as I pushed her close to the wall with my lips so close to her and held her waist with care and I asked the question to clear my doubt, “Do you like me, Naomi?”
I look deep into her soul and something tells me, I have met someone like her in the past in the same position but I can't remember in detail, is she related to my past?
