Chapter 33
He has two distinctive eyes that are currently glaring at me in fear, covered in a slick black covering of fur. I'm taken aback by the wolf's blue and emerald eyes before I can stop myself when it approaches me. I hear many howls behind me as I speed up and accelerate down the road. When I notice them running to each side of the automobile, I accelerate. As I turn the bend, my forehead is covered in sweat, and my short, fast pants are causing my breathing to become labored. When I stopped seeing them, I believed I had escaped from them, but I was very mistaken.
I scream as a wolf, who I now recognized as Gabriel, rushes out onto the road in front of me. When the car finally comes to a stop, barely touching his fur, I slam on the brake and exhale in relief. I try to get around him after we have been staring at one another for a bit, but he merely stands in my path. I boost the engine in the hopes that it will temporarily frighten him so I can pass by, but it doesn't. I try everything, but it is ineffective, and ultimately the terror and anxiety that is developing inside of me causes me to start crying.
When I observe that everyone is gathered near the front of the vehicle, I quickly turn around within my seat and rush to the back. I reach out to the door while sobbing, and immediately it opens for me, I move to another side of the vehicle. Gabriel comes closer and extends his hand slightly while wearing only jeans. I scramble to unlock the door behind me while immediately as his knee touches the seat and scream as I see two wolves obstructing my way out. I stomp back to the center, bringing my knees to my chest, and sob while covering my face with my hands.
When the car jolts and two hands grip my legs, dragging me to my right, my stomach drops to the floor. I allowed Gabriel to help me exit the vehicle and took a few more steps to put some space between us. I-I...you simply did. When I can't come up with a complete sentence, I stumble and falter. He tentatively begins, "Amanda," while putting his arms out. Baby, pay attention to me. Who or what are you? I scream and turn to face him. Calm down, Amanda. When I started breathing heavily and can't comprehend what had happened, he commands.
He tries to put his arms around me, but I push him away. "Why do you suddenly transform into a w-wolf? You and your behavior are not typical. You recently attacked those men, therefore -" "That bastard deserved to know you're mine, and if I ever catch any man treating you disrespectfully again, I won't think twice to tear them apart." He says in a chilly tone, then cups both of his hands over my face. "I'm feel so terrible you learned this way; I had intended to introduce you gradually to my world." My brain is spinning, and I stutter back a little. I shiver as I lean my head against Gabriel's chest as he grabs me and draws me back with wide eyes. I need some time to comprehend this since it's too much.
"Remember when I said I wouldn't mind dating an alien? I sigh feebly and cock my head to see his face. "Yes?" Although he frowns, the fear and worry are clearly visible in his stunning green eyes. "Dating a wolf is perfectly cool with me, too." When I start to feel weak and lightheaded, I groan. But we'll have to discuss this once I wake up, I said. "Shit!" He screams even as my knees start to shake, saving me. "Amanda!"

I'm no longer outside the motel when I wake up. I quickly realize that it is Gabriel's bedroom. I cringe when I notice swollen eyes which sting and a somewhat red nose in the mirror when I am reflecting myself. I'm crying so hard that my head hurts. I shiver when the silk covers come off of me. I'm still wearing my clothing, a mid-thigh-length denim shirt dress. The cool air gives me goosebumps, and when my feet come in contact with the frigid floor, I jerk them back. As I round the big bed, my feet sink into the plush carpet before it once more touches the chilly floor.
I gently open the door, proceed down the stairs and across the hallway till I am ready to exit to the main staircase. As soon as I hear my name, I shiver. As I bend forward while leaning back against the wall, I can see Chris, his parents, Linda, and Ryan in the living room with the four Silva siblings. "Why in the name of God didn't you manage your beast? Later, we intended to tell Amanda!" Chris paces at the back of the sofa where his parents are seated, his face contorted in annoyance. Oh, I'm sorry for not managing my rage when that jerk disrespected my partner.
Having his fists clenched and his eyes flaming, Gabriel suddenly stands up and glares at Chris. Well, you ought to have! As if calling Linda right now wouldn't get you mad at me! He roars, sounding just as irate as Chris. "Guys." As I emerge from behind the wall, I call softly to get their attention. "Please, put an end to warring." "Honey, you all right?" Elizabeth stands with a look of worry in her eyes. I nod and smile weary before addressing Gabriel's gaze, which has been piercing the sides of my head long before I announced my presence. Please allow us to speak privately.
He gives me a stern nod before grabbing my hand and escorting me from the room. We ultimately wind ourselves sitting next to one another outside in silence. All of my concerns and questions have vanished as I stand before Gabriel. "I suppose I should begin explaining," He sighs, which makes me smirk apologetic. Yes, it appears that I have forgotten all of my inquiries. Before his face turns stern, he laughs. "I'm a werewolf who is a lycanthrope. For millennia, we have lived side by side with people while remaining concealed in the woods. Lycans are descended from werewolves of pure blood who were born rather than bitten and changed. What distinguishes lycans from werewolves? I clutch my knees towards my breast while scowling in perplexity. "Lycans and werewolves are both taller than average, more aesthetically pleasing, more graceful, more elegant. If we chose to employ our powers, our motions will be like a blur because we have superhuman strength, speed, and senses. We also recover more quickly than humans ever could, with shattered bones requiring a week just to mend and wounds healing in a matter of hours.
He says while holding my hand and stroking my skin using his thumb carelessly. But Lycans have stronger versions of these skills. Our strength, speed, and senses are ten times greater. Our mending powers are instantaneous, taking only minutes, as opposed to hours. How does that process operate when you turn into your wolf? What steps are involved? I inquire in an effort to learn as much as I can. Regardless if we're a werewolf or a lycan, our bones crack one by one on our sixteenth birthday to facilitate the transition from human to animal. We transform into our brand new form after a laborious procedure that lasts hours.
Over time, breathing becomes effortless. In an apparent attempt to persuade himself that I am still here, he twists his head and look at me. "That sounds awful," I say. I tremble, wondering how much anguish someone would be experiencing as all of their bones cracked. But Gabriel, how do I fit into this whole thing? Aren't you all meant to keep it secret from me since I'm only a human? "Amanda, you are my mate." He turns to face me with a gentle smile on his face. "Your mate, how do you mean?"
"Yes, soul partners. The Moon Goddess selects the mates for werewolves. They are our soulmate and other half; they were created specifically for us, just like ideal mold. They are just as important to us as we were to them in our lives. Like you, they have the ability to instantly calm us down or quickly rile us up. He laughs while shaking his body against mine. You are my Luna, too. Why is that there? I allow him to draw me into his lap while I inquire with curiosity. "A hierarchical structure governs the realm of lycans and werewolves. I, the Alpha, am in charge of making choices for the pack and making sure that its members are comfortable.
The Luna serves as a motherly role to the pack and also has a closer relationship with each individual. She also assists the Alpha with pack-related tasks. The pack as well as the Alpha are not complete without a Luna. He puts his arms around my waist and places his forehead on my shoulder. The Beta as well as Beta Female are the following group; their purpose is to lighten the strain on the leaders. These are Ryan as well as his companion Vanessa in our situation. I mutter, feeling overloaded with information, "Wow." "There's a lot here to process."
I notice that his body is tense and that he appears to be nearly hesitating, as if he is anxious to say something else. I swivel a little and look at him eagerly, which makes him sigh and nervously massage behind his neck. In addition, I rule the Lycan Kingdom. He rushes, his worried eyes wide. "Yeah..." The knowledge that I'll be a queen causes me to stutter as I feel myself beginning to panic. I need to have more time to think about this, friend.
** The first of several secrets has now been exposed! **
