Chapter 51
"Werewolves like feeding their mates." As he puts the amazingly excellent meal into my mouth, he explains, pecking my lips after I'm done eating. Ryan comes into the kitchen a few minutes later, dragging Valeria and Paloma with him. "Man, the city council is coming tomorrow." Paloma shouts in delight as she helps herself to the food, and he expresses his concern. "What the heck are they looking for?" Gabriel mutters, his only concern being that I eat. "Are you sure you don't remember?" "Whilst you were busy giving Amanda time to absorb things, you left the pack to cater for themselves."
Gabriel sighs and leans back in his chair before leaping to his feet and seizing the spoon from my grasp. He feeds me again after giving me a stern look, as I try to push Paloma, Ryan, and Valeria out of the way as they mock, gag and fan themselves due to "such much mutual attraction in the room!" For the love of God, he's giving me rice. What makes you think that's sexual?! I return my gaze to Gabriel as I roll my eyes, which causes him to giggle before taking a serious look at me. "I'm beefing up your security." "Thank you, but I'm OK." Actually, why don't you remove some of the other guards you have on me?" I look at him, annoyed that he did this without informing me.
"No," I say. "I wouldn't want you to be alone when the council is here." "There aren't many saints among the young people in there." Before wanting to remove the spoon off him, I growl and cross my arms. Obviously, I failed. I simply receive a blank stare in return. I give him a pout before averting my gaze. While I played monopoly alongside the other three, I spend the evening on Gabriel's lap with his hands tracing circles on my hips. We scream our hearts out at each other when Paloma cheated, but in the end, I lose. It's a surprise it came to an end at all. Usually, someone goes completely insane and snaps everything from the board.
Ryan quickly departs for the pack house, while Valeria and Paloma say their goodbyes and retire to their rooms. As Gabriel brings me up to the bedroom, I whine to him, accusing him for diverting my attention. In the bedroom, he makes amends by kissing me repeatedly and allowing his hands wander over my body till I fall asleep nestled against his side. This is now my preferred method of falling asleep.

As one of the pack members rushes by me, I yell before hastily moving to the side. I groan as I move toward Gabriel's other office inside the pack house. Everyone is getting ready for the council members to show up this evening. Members of the pack race over the area carrying boxes and setting up a stage with rows of lawn chairs to welcome them. I enter his office without even bothering to knock. Gabriel is seated in the lounge chair next to the bookcase while Ryan and a few other pack fighters stand in the space.
I approach him and jump onto his black leather chair, saying, "Your pack." I'm dying with boredom since isn't letting me do anything! When you offered to help, Amanda, you smashed half of the decorations. While looking over the details of the document he is holding, Gabriel murmurs incoherently. I stare at him while rotating the chair with my leg, "I told you it was due to my ankle got trapped in the tangled lights!" Go complete your schoolwork or anything. It's Friday night, and Sundays are for doing homework. Worldwide.''
Before signing the document and letting one of his guys go, he chuckles. His silky voice sends a chill down my spine, making me shudder, but as he throws me a knowing smile, I growl at him. I swing the seat to a stop then clench the top of the desk in pleasure as I suddenly gasp as a thought strikes me. Gabriel raises his brow in expectation as he peers up at me. Can I visit the mall? "No." As soon as he realizes I'm about to leave his sight, he cracks, becoming furious.
"Why shouldn't I?" I scowl at him while slamming my feet into the chair to stop it from rocking aimlessly. I promise to bring you something fun coming back!

He suddenly stops writing as I immediately sit up still in the chair, and he gives me a stern look. While everyone works hard, I won't just sit around here doing nothing. "If you don't let me leave then so help me God, I will go so hyper -" His eyes widen at my warning. "Ryan, get a car ready for my partner. And accompany her with several guards." I give him a sly smile before jumping with joy. I leap from my chair and dash out the door, grabbing Valeria with me.
When arms encircle my waist and bring me back into a strong chest, we have just finished running through in the house as well as outside to the ready automobile. I can tell it's Gabriel when tingles start to appear on my skin. I turn to face him and gaze up into his hesitant bottle-green eyes. He hands me his credit card and says, "Take this." Get whatever you want, alright? '' That's your money, not mine. I glance down at the plastic piece in my hand and scowl, "I have some on me." "You are my mate, too. I would like you to pay for as much as you desire since all I have is yours. And bring Linda along. Do not go anywhere alone and —-"
I'm yours; don't talk to boys. I understand all of that," I chuckle and roll my eyes as I bend in to peck his cheek before stepping inside the car. When he knocked, I roll down the window and see him stoop to my eye level while giving me a bewildered expression. His attitude has changed to one of extreme seriousness, and his emerald eyes have a menacing glimmer. Just keep in mind that if I learn that any boy approached you, I will cut their heads off. Keep an eye on your guards. "Yes, sir, captain!" I saluted him. After which we go to pick up Linda.
