Chapter 71

I whimper softly as his fingers press into my flesh. He leans down and presses his face against the back of my neck. Warm air bubbles that run sinfully down the length of my spine from his fingertips kiss my exposed flesh, making me tremble. "I thought Elizabeth was it when I first met her. I knew I had the loving Luna my pack required—the ideal mate. But I was absolutely incorrect. Now that you really are it for me, I hate believing that about Eliza every time I see you. Always, it will be you." He speaks quietly, his arms encircling my waist as he inhales my aroma to make him feel comfortable." The way you drew me in when I caught your eye at the airport is nothing like the connection I had with Elizabeth earlier. I don't understand how I was able to let you take that plane and put space between us since you were the Only one I thought about with your wicked touch and your addicting lips." "However, here we are." He leans back, and I smile while staring up at him.

His lovely forest eyes are full of devotion as he raises his hand to gently caress my face with his thumb. The current glance he's giving me surprises me briefly. "I would endure the agony of having lost my first love a billion times over simply to have you as my future partner. I may not express it much, but Amanda Thomas, without you, I would perish. To me, you are everything, the one thing that keeps me alive." At what he said, tears well up in my eyes, and I sniffle as I tightly hold him. How on earth is this dude so flawless? I think to myself,
"Mi rоsa?" His voice is low and concerned. "Baby, why are you crying?" (Rose?) My face is covered in the crook of his neck as I shake my head, but I believe he can feel the moisture of my tears soaking his shirt. "Gabriel, you are really powerful. I find it incomprehensible that despite everything being difficult for you, you're still here. I would not have survived." My ears picks the sound of his heavy laughter as I feel his chest quiver. "You are mine. Because of that, I'm still here." I move so that my face rather than my chin now lies on his shoulder as I sigh pleasantly. "Sweety, you and I forever."
After a little pause, he lets out a loud roar that makes me shriek. I step back and chuckle as I observe his irate face in response to the term. Of course, I'm simply joking; in my opinion, Gabriel is flawless. I simply like agitating him. "How do you know I'm sweet?" "Whoa, that's how your lips made themselves known to me when they touched mine!" He stands, flings me across his shoulder, walks over to the bed, and dumps me down on it while I scream. His enormous form hovers over me as I bounced upon the mattress before being attacked.
I bite my lip in expectation of what is going to happen next as a result of the intense look, which causes me to harshly swallow. He suddenly turns his eyes to mine, and I use the chance to shove him away and leap from the bed. I open the door and rush outside, my soft giggle resonating in the silent corridor because I believe he will get me if I linger in the bedroom. I turn around after hearing a deep growl from behind me to find Gabriel leaving the room with such a jovial grin on his face. I smirk as I go backwards and wink at him. "Alpha, come and catch me." I make fun of him while watching his eyes turn a brilliant gold as I descend the stairs.
And thus, the game of catch gets started. I believe he is letting me win since I can never see him when I turn to look behind me, indicating that he is not making use of his enhanced talents. I eventually give up and exit the corridor, sliding to a halt when I spot him leaning against a couch. Before swallowing and turning to flee back, I giggle apprehensively. My back quickly brushes the wall, and Gabriel quickly encloses me in his arms. While somewhat panting, I gaze up at him. He leans in and drags his lips from my cheekbone to my lips, making me gasp. I want to scream his name aloud every time they almost touch my skin. What is my reward? He speaks softly, using the tip of his nose to trace the curve of my neck all the way down to my collarbone. I encircle his neck with my arms, trembling as his hands rest on my lower back from beneath my shirt. Anything you desire. I teasingly say, grinning as he grunts back and tightens his hold on me. His voice is gruff and heavy as he responds, "Good thing we've got all night then."
I shriek in shock when he takes me up, then I squeal with delight when he begins kissing every bit of exposed flesh he can find. He holds me still as he ascends the stairs while driving me insane.

I'm presently making my way to the huge round table where Kaden and my friends are seated because it is time for lunch. The werewolves first appeared apprehensive and antagonistic toward him, but he gave them no heed, and two weeks later, they began to warm up to him, occasionally cracking jokes and chit-chatting with him. I give Kaden a kind grin and settle into the seat next to him after setting my food tray down on the table. Before laying his arm just on back of my chair, he nods his head in my direction. Theo is frowning as he casts a glum gaze our way.
Gabriel stated that several of his pack members go to the same school as I do when he first informed me regarding his pack, but Theo is the one I've spoken to the most. I smile at Kayla, who is seated next to me. Max has a cold and has missed school. As I catch up with her, she continues to gush about how fantastic the class trip to Rome will be, and I nod in agreement. Everyone in our history class, including Max, Kayla, Linda, Kelvin, Kanden, and Theo—basically everyone I know—is going. However, because Paloma and Valeria aren't in my class, I'm a little disappointed that they won't be attending. But I can't wait to explore Rome and all it would have to offer.
