I had lied to my mate, and somehow hid it in the bond. I nodded at the others and gestured for them to follow behind me.
We went to the living room where we could still see them, but they couldn’t hear.
“We have a big problem, more than the college burning to the ground.” I start.
“What’s up?” Lucian asks crossing his arms across his chest.
“We received this while we was busy this last week,” I pulled my phone out and accessed my school email. “Someone hacked in and didn’t leave a trace. It says that that they’ll get revenge. And they’ll take something even more important to us than some Omega.” I push my hand through my hair as I focus my eyes on Aurora and Kason, “I think they are going to try to come after Kason.”
“why would they do that though?” Knight asks as he focuses on me trying to contain the growl in his voice.
Lucian scoffs, “Because we have embarrassed them, we are slowly taking everything they crave, their money their power. It’s all being taken from them and what better way to hurt us, hurt the Omega who took down a chunk of them by herself than by taking a five-year-old.”
“What?” I closed my eyes and looked over at Aurora standing at the threshold of the living room.
“Fuck baby, come here.”
She folded her arms across her chest, not realizing she was pushing them up and with the shirt she was wearing her cleavage looked good enough to dive in and never leave.
“You’re telling me these monsters are threatening to take MY son, and you all didn’t feel like this was something I needed to be aware of?”
She tapped her foot and glared at us. I held back on wanting to correct her and say that now that we was officially her pack, he was our son. Because I really didn’t feel like pissing her off even more than she already was.
She rolled her eyes and looked at me, “Shut up.”
I smirked, apparently, I wasn’t hiding my thoughts very well.
I walked over to her and pulled her into my arms, “I found the e-mail this morning. I have already started protective measures for both Kason and you. Since the college burned down, we will all be staying home and doing our classes online until they decide what they are doing. If anyone attacks or tries anything we will protect you with everything we have.”
She leans her chin against my chest and looks up at me, “But what if they take you away from me too?”
Lucian barked a laugh, “Baby, you wouldn’t let them get out the door with any of us, especially not Kason. I am not worried that these guys are going to do a damn thing. They saw how much of a bad ass you are solo, much less with us by your side. They wanted us as leaders for a reason, now they will have to take us on as the men who will take them down.”
Knight nodded, “They know they are losing this war. We’ve got them pinned and they are just trying to strike back.” He walked over to us and ran a hand over her hair, They are going to find that they fucked up big time, you have us in your corner, and we will take on the world and win. Every single time.”
“Mommy look, I drew a dinosaur!” Kason said as he ran over to us smiling as the paper flapped in the wind. I couldn’t help but smile as he slammed his little body against Auroras legs as he held the paper up to her.
She took it from him as she bent down to his level, “Oh, baby this is amazing! I love it! Want to help me hang it on the fridge?” she asks, causing him to smile and nod as he grabbed her hand and started pulling her toward the kitchen.
I closed my eyes and ran my hand over my face, scratching at the scruff there.
“What if we fail.” I whisper.
Lucian came up behind me and clasped a hand on the back of my neck, “We can’t fail. We will fight until our last breath to give them the world.”
“Yeah, but we can’t lock them in this house forever, we may fuck up. This could cost us everything.”
“Hey guys,” Aurora raised her voice a small amount to get our attention.
“Yeah baby whats up?” Knight said getting off the sofa and walking toward her.
“I just got a text from Lena, there are guys asking about us in town. Trying to find out where this place is.”
“Fuck me, did she send you photos of the guys?” I ask as I jump over the sofa and make my way to her side.
“Fuck!” I say as I read the next message.
“It’s the senator.” Is all that is written.
“I knew he wouldn’t like that we had found his hidden files. I hadn’t shared those with the media yet, but it looked like I needed to as soon as possible. Because if he got to Aurora or Kason, he wouldn’t hesitate to rape either one of them, he didn’t care. He was soulless and had only got into office because of his affiliation with Gravin. He must have finally realized we had gotten a lot of our information from his saved evidence.
He wanted to take us out before we shared it, but he didn’t realize we had contingencies in place. Looked like we needed to go ahead and reveal what the good public servant had been up to while he had been in office.
I grabbed my laptop, setting it on the counter as I started typing out codes to get the evidence sent to local and federal law enforcement at the same time, I sent it to various news stations all across the globe, not trusting enough to send it to just one locally. I knew the kind of power Gravin’s had. And money and power was a good motivator. But they didn’t know we had something more pushing us. We had two people who depended on us. And we weren’t going to let them down.
