Chapter 32

I jerked awake. My breathing heavy. What the hell kind of dream was that? I turn over and see Aurora lying next to Nash breathing softly. His hand cupping her stomach, as if protecting our child from the world.
Thank fuck it was just a nightmare. What would I have done without her in my world. I don’t think I would have the strength to continue if she wasn’t mine.
I tapped on my phone to see that it was five am. Guess I was going to go ahead and get up and go to the gym. The dream lingering.
I power through my work out before deciding I’m going to cook breakfast for everyone.
It had been a rough week since we had found out about the baby. Knight was starting to lash out because our informant from the FBI hadn’t reached out in days. It felt like we were standing here with our dicks in our hand just waiting for something to happen
“Couldn’t sleep either huh.” Knight says from behind me. I yawned and scratched at my jaw.
“Nah, had a fucked-up dream and my brain keeps spinning in circles, waiting for them to attack us again. I wonder if we wouldn’t be better off sending them to a secured location until all this is over. Would it keep them safe?”
“We both know she is not going to leave us behind. And honestly, I do not think I would be able to focus on doing what we have to do if I didn’t know she’s nearby and safe. She has multiple panic rooms; you’ve checked them out yourself. If we are ever raided, she can get herself and Kason to safety.”
I flip the pancakes I am making and lean back against the kitchen island.
“I would die if something happened to her, bro. It wouldn’t be just from a broken heart. I would break my soul if I didn’t do everything in my power to keep her safe, happy and healthy. Especially with Kason and the baby.”
He smiles, “I’ve been panicking some about the whole having a baby thing. We had one of the worst influences there could be, and all I can think of is we fuck this up. Will we be as bad as he was?”
“You three will never be like your father,” Aurora said from the archway, “You three don’t know how to fail at anything.”
She walks over to me and wraps her arms around my waist, leaning her chin on my chest as she looks up at me. I can’t help myself and give her a kiss. Knight grabs the spatula out of my hand, taking over cooking as I deepen the kiss and grab her ass lifting her as I turn as sit her on the island.
She pulled back and smiled at me, “I woke up this morning in a panic. I could feel you in the bond, but I got worried when I couldn’t find you.” She put her hand on my chest, “I could almost feel your dream, and it broke my heart.”
I tilted my head back and groaned, “Sorry baby, I just, my brain was having a moment.”
“Well, just know that we are a team now. When you have a moment you can come to me, when I have a moment, I’ll come to one of you. But the only way this will work is if we communicate, if we work together, come together in everything. And no more talk of separating us.” She says bopping my nose, proving that she had been listening to our conversation for a few minutes before saying anything.
“I just worry,” I whisper pressing a kiss against her forehead, “Well stop. Nash has found a way to access the FBI’s files, so we can find out what is going on.”
“Well, once you finish breakfast, we will check it out.” Knight says as he sets a platter of pancakes, bacon, and eggs on the counter.
Nash walks in at that moment and grins, “Perfect timing huh kiddo.” He says to the sleepy Kason on his hip.
Kason’s face brightened at the sight of the pancakes. He rushed to the table and sat down, “I want all the pancakes please!” he said, causing all of us to laugh.
Yeah, I wasn’t going to allow that nightmare to come true. I could protect them.


Nash

About an hour later, Lena came and grabbed Kason to take him to play in the back yard while we sat down, and they watched me hack into the FBI’s database.
“It looks like they’ve arrested the Senator and six out of the nine other’s that I sent information on.” I sped my way down the reports, “Apparently they are preparing three teams to apprehend them today.”
My leg started bouncing as I worked my magic. I accessed the next file and found the video recording of some of the interrogations, finding that the six had turned on each other thinking they were going to make a deal. But thanks to my hard work, they no longer had access to their funds, including their hidden bank accounts.
I quickly accessed the next file, finding the senators interrogation, and a live feed of him in his cell as he waits for trail. His hair greasy and his face haggard from the last few days.
“So, it’s looking like the Senator and these six are going to be sent away to a high security prison the cases are airtight. Separate facilities so they won’t have access to each other.”
I opened another screen and did a quick dark web search finding what I wanted, “There is already a forty two million dollar hit out for when the senator enters the prison, unless he gets taken out prior to reaching trail.”
Aurora gasped, then laughed, “Nothing more than what he deserves. I don’t know why I’m acting so surprised. Guy like that obviously made lots of enemies, and I’m guessing a lot of them want to make sure he can’t spill any of the many secrets he must have access to.”
I point at her and smirk, “Bingo baby, I could try to back trace the hit, but I honestly don’t give a fuck what happens to him, as long as he can’t hurt you or Kason.”
She smiles and gives me a quick kiss, squeezing my shoulder before jumping off the stool and running toward the back door. “Good, I’m going to go play with my son and tonight we can order in. I just want a lazy day with all my favorite people.”
I nod, “We’ll be out there in a second baby.” I wait until the door closes behind her, “There is one problem.”
