Chapter 42
**** My dear beautiful readers, I am crying as I write these chapters. It has been therapeutic for me to put into words what I have felt. From my own experiences. So please again, if you are triggered by child loss, suicidal thoughts or tendencies please, please, please put your mental health first. ****

I watched through the window to her room, and I knew. I knew from the look on Dr. Gwen’s face that that monster had stolen our child from us. But more than that, he had stolen our Omega. The bond was blocked but I could see her pain. I could smell the agony in her perfume. My Alpha craved to be in there with his mate. I craved to hold the love of my life. But she had begged the doctors to send us out here. My brothers pacing down the hall. But I couldn’t step away.
I knew. I knew that she would try something if I wasn’t here to stop her. I heard the whispered comments from some of the comments. I knew what they had found. Lucian and Knight hadn’t heard. But I did. I knew that mother fucker had bitten my Omega. That he had force bonded her. That now she was suffering the loss of an Alpha that she never chose. That this could kill her.
The loss of a mate, even one she didn’t want could kill an Omega from the inside out. When the pain burst through the bond, I knew she couldn’t hide behind a curtain anymore, she couldn’t block us out and I turned and watched my brothers fall to their knees. I turned back to the window dying to open the door.
I watched as the doctor wiped tears from her own eyes as she spoke to Aroura, as the ultrasound tech continued to push the wand around her stomach, checking the other organs for any other trauma to her body that wasn’t on the surface.
The doctor helped wipe away the gel from her stomach and walked to the door, opening it for the tech to wheel out the machine, I looked over her head at Aroura, but she wasn’t looking at the door anymore. Instead her head was turned, blankly staring at the wall.
“Brothers,” I say loudly enough to get their attention causing them to jump up off the floor where they had fallen and come jogging down the hall to stand in front of Dr. Gwen.
She wiped her eyes with a tissue, Taking a deep breath, “The trauma to her body was so severe that she has sadly lost the baby.” She sniffled and wiped her eyes again, “She will have to have a surgical procedure done called a D&C, A D&C is usually performed under general anesthetic and typically takes 15 to 30 minutes. After the procedure, she will experience some cramping or mild abdominal discomfort. Due to the severity of the trauma, there is some internal bleeding that we will be addressing in the OR as well. She has severe internal bleeding coming from her right kidney. We will be depending on the damage will be cleaning the pooling of blood and suturing the wound or we will have to take the kidney. She will be safe to live with just one kidney, we also found severe damage to her right lung, we will have to take it as well, she can live a full life with just one, but it will limit her physical abilities from now on, and even though she is an omega these things will not fix themselves like the others did. The procedure to remove a lung is called a pneumonectomy. This is a high-risk surgery that can lead to complications like respiratory failure, excessive bleeding and shock, abnormal heart rhythms, reduced blood flow, blood clots in the lung and she will be more prone to pneumonia After the surgery, she’ll need to stay in the hospital for a week or two. She'll also need to work with a respiratory therapist to learn breathing exercises to strengthen her breathing and remove fluid. She will need to take it easy for a few weeks or months, and she'll get tired more easily.”
I nod taking in all the information, “is there anything else we should know?”
She nods, “She gave me permission to tell you everything, otherwise I wouldn’t be saying anything, you are all listed as her next of kin and have the approval for knowing all her medical information.”
“Yes, we filled all that out when she was here before, what else is there doc, give it to us straight please.” Knight says pushing his hand through his hair.
Lucian’s face is stark white, with grief but I can feel him trying to hold it together. I look through the window and watch as a nurse starts preparing Aroura for surgery. I watch as another doctor walks into her room.
“That is the surgeon now, She will be telling Aroura more in-depth about the surgery. I will be in there too, to help with the D&C. But back to what I was saying. She has multiple broken ribs on the right side, one that had punctured the lung that she will be having removed. She has trauma to her vagina from what he did to her. Also from what it looks like he may have been knotted to her and ripped from her body?”
“Fucking hell,” Knight slams his fist against the concrete wall. “I did that, fucking hell, I hurt her worse. I pulled him out of her. I didn’t take the time to notice that he was locked inside of her, I just wanted him off of her.” He started crying and put his arms against the wall and dropping his head to his chest.
“There’s more, and you will have that hand looked at.” Dr. Gwen said sternly. “They found a deep would on the back of her neck.” She looked between the three of us, “He forced a bond between them.”
Lucian cried out and dropped to his knees. I stood there shaking. I knew but didn’t want it to be true.
“She is and will be suffering from the loss of a mate. This can cause severe depression, anxiety and suicidal tendencies, she will HAVE to be monitored twenty-four seven. Omega’s often do not make it without their mates, even ones who have been forced to bond. I’m terrified that with everything that has happened that she may not make it through this.” She sniffles again, “She is a very strong woman and her past has never stopped her before, but this and the way she is already presenting could be the catalyst that forces her over the edge.
