Chapter 9

Knight

My phone lights up in the middle of class and I glance down.
Montgomery is an Omega. He’s my mate from Nash
Mine too from Linc
Fuck I knew it too but Damned if I wanted to admit it to anyone. My dad would freak out if I was to come home with a male omega as my mate. He was already insane. I’m getting so fucking tired of waiting for the Graven’s to do something about him. His power-hungry struggle since he forced us to kill Mr. Anderson.
I honestly never saw us finding out mate. Convinced that we had lost that chance when we killed Kara. And to beat it all it had to be someone who could beat me. Someone who was able to hold me down and actually keep me down. For an Omega he was strong. But when he was against me there was something, I had noticed but wasn’t a hundred percent sure about. I could have sworn I felt a binding around his chest.
I sent back He’s my mate too. But I think there’s something we are missing.
Nash: He didn’t exist before last year. I can’t find any information on him at all.
Linc: So how are we supposed to go around this?
I put my head in my hands. Because I didn’t have any idea how we were going to be able to figure out who Montgomery is. And how to make him ours without our dad going ballistic. It was time to force the Gravens to put him down.
Nash: I’ve invited them to the party. I was trying to play Lexi to get more information. Montgomery is her cousin not her boyfriend. But now that I’ve smelled Montgomery, I won’t play that card again.
Me: How does he not know he belongs to us.
Linc: It’s almost like he can’t smell us at all.
I dialed a number and waited for it to be picked up, “How can I help you today young Mr. Wolfe?” the voice on the other end of the phone asked.
“It’s time to implement the plan. I want him gone within the next week. We have found our Omega and we aren’t going to allow his power hungry self to ruin anything.”
“Congratulations. A pack with an omega at its center will be much stronger than what your father has ever been.”
“Thank you, we need this to go smoothly. There is something about this Omega that is confusing us but we plan to find out what is going on.”
“Do you need…”
“No, Nash is already looking into it. We’ll find out one way or another.”
We had some of our lackeys set up the party and grab some beers. No one carded us here. We were Gravin. The elite. Killers. Alphas. By 10pm the party was overflowing with people and we watched as Lexi walked in dragging Montgomery behind her. Montgomery was dressed in sweatpants and a hoodie and yet something about him made everything inside of me stand at attention.
I felt like I already knew him, but I didn’t. I felt my brothers move beside me. We leaned with our arms against the railing. Our eyes locked on our prize. Our omega. Linc grinned at me before heading downstairs.
“I can’t stay away.” Is all he said as he made his way toward our omega.
