Chapter 28

Aurora

I wake up a few hours later wrapped around Nash and let his scents sooth me. I couldn’t believe I could actually smell them, that they were really my matches. I had never thought I would get to have this.
I drag myself out of bed and use the restroom before walking downstairs to the kitchen, I open the fridge and grab a bottle of water before going to the living room and plopping down beside Kason.
“Hey baby, you having fun?” I whisper. He nodded turning his head and kissing my forehead before pulling himself into my lap, wanting to snuggle.
I tightened my arms around him and held him close as he watched Paw Patrol.
Knight looked over from his place on the sofa and smiled holding up his phone and taking a picture of us. I smiled loving that he caught a candid moment between me and the little one I loved more than life itself.
“The doctors will be here in an hour or so,” he says as he sits his phone beside him.
I nod my head and look over at him, my leg starting to bounce.
“I’m a little nervous. What if it’s a fluke?” I ask.
“It’s better to know now than to always wonder, right?” he asks as he moves closer to the two of us and wraps his arms around my shoulders as Kason adjusts himself to laying his head only in my lap.
I run my fingers through his soft curls as I think, “I think so, I never believed this could happen to me, I had come to terms with it. That I would never be able to smell who my mate was, or that I would even have a heat. So it has been overwhelming to realize that I get to have all these things just like any other omega. Like my body is healing itself for you.”
He tilts my head back by putting one hand gently around my throat and lifting it. “We would never want you to change who you are for us; you know that right?” he asks, pressing a gentle kiss on my lips.
I smile into his kiss and sigh when he stops before placing a gentle kiss to my forehead.
“I know.” I say as he absently plays with my hair.
“we won’t know anything for sure until in the morning, this is just to tell them of the changes, and to walk through what their thoughts are.”
I nod and look up as Nash walks in scratching his chest with his shirt riding up giving me a glimpse of his abs. He stopped and smirked at me as I perfumed.
I blushed and looked down, “Sorry.” I muttered.
He grins at me and says, “Don’t worry baby I feel the exact same way.”
I grin and look away just as the doorbell rings causing me to jump.
Lucian yells out, “I’ve got it.”
Nash lifts up Kason and carries him upstairs as the doctors all walk into the house. My eyebrow furrows as I notice someone I didn’t recognize. Then try to shake it off, I was being paranoid, it was probably just a new tech that I hadn’t met yet.
I stood up and walked us to the dining table, so we could discuss everything. I sit and my leg instantly starts shaking. I grabbed my phone out of my pocket and typed out a message to Nash.
Me: Please stay with Kason. There is someone I don’t recognize, and it’s got my nerves off.
Nash: Got it, I’ll let the guys know.
Me: Thanks.
I watched as both guys pulled out their phones and read the message before they looked at me and quirked their eyebrows. I looked away at them, over to the person I didn’t recognize. They nodded and Lucian stepped closer to me, while Knight kept himself between me and them. All three sending soothing feelings through the bond.
“Miss Aurora, you are looking amazing.” My primary care doctor, Dr, Mara says as she take a seat next to me, laying a tablet on the table, “I brought my work tablet, to keep notes of anything you are going to tell us. That way it’s in your chart and all of us here can coordinate care. Are you okay with that?” she asks me, like she always does. She does this in the office too, even showing me what my chart says and explaining any terms I didn’t understand, so that way I could fully understand the care I was receiving.
I smile and nod, “Yes ma’am.”
My Obgyn, Dr Gwen, looks at me and smiles as she sits across from Mara, “I agree.”
My designation doctor, Dr. Green looks at the table and sits before looking up at me, “can we get started?” he asks.
I nod before turning to the new face in the crowd, “And you are?”
“Ah sorry miss,” He says walking forward and reaching out to shake my head, I nodded at Knight for him to allow him to get close to me, I shook his hand, “I recently took over for Dr. Andrews. He had decided to retire in the next month. He will be sending out notices before the weekends, but said this was something I needed to be a part of. I have accessed your chart and got myself up to date. My name is Dr. Spark.”


Ah, I didn’t realize that they guys had also called in the head of the Omega Studies doctor. Who had originally talked to me saying that I wouldn’t be able to smell my mates or have a heat.
Guess I had just proved them wrong. I smiled and gestured for him to take a seat.
“First of all, thank you all for coming. I needed to update you all about my care and since I currently can’t leave due to some threats against myself, I needed you to come to me. I am safe. And” I laugh rolling my eyes, “I’m sure its nothing but to be safe the guys wanted me to have you come here.”
I scratch my head for a moment before I dive in, “Secondly, I had a full blown heat,” I look over at Dr. Sparks, “Full seven days, and had no precursors. Also, I can actually smell again. Not just my mates,” I grabbed my two guys hands, “but everyone in this room. If you need proof just ask me, and I will let you know what you need to know.”
He smiles and writes notes in a paper notebook, “did you have any pre-heat spikes? Could you smell your mates prior to bonding, or during heat.”
Lucian speaks up for me, “She responded to our scents right before her heat hit, but prior to that she didn’t fully believe she was our scent match. She didn’t really realize this until this morning when Knight forced her to pay attention to what was going on.”
The doctor nods, “and the heat spikes?”
I sigh and shake my head, “No, I kept having random moments where I thought I was getting hot but then never felt more than that. No craving relief or wanting knots.”
He nods as my Obgyn speaks up, “I can smell a difference in your scent.” She bites her lip and leans forward. “It almost smells like your body is fertile. I could be wrong, but I’d like to do some blood work to test what is going on and do an ultrasound to check your ovaries. I know the doctors who did your originally surgery claimed they did a full hysterectomy but sometimes as an omega our bodies will heal itself to get whatever it wants.”
Dr. Green nods pushing his glasses up his nose, “Yes Omega’s bodies are very different from beta’s or even Alpha’s. When your Omega wants something, she will heal herself to get what she wants. Regardless of what medical or science says should happen. Especially once an Omega meets her scent match. If this was say just a chosen match your body wouldn’t be responding the way you do to your scent matches.”
He nods at my neck, “And the bonding probably is accelerating the healing. Due to you never having a heat prior to now, and your body healing, you could go into heat again in the next month.”
