Chapter 29
Knight
I couldn’t help but smirk at the look of shock on Aurora’s face as she asked, “Another heat? So soon? But I thought Omega’s only have a heat once every three months.”
Dr. Green nods pushing his glasses up his nose once again, “For an Omega who’s body hasn’t been as traumatized as yours was so young, yes. But your body is trying to heal itself. And wants to play catch up, maybe in a few years you’ll slow down to every three months, but I would think you’ll have them monthly unless you happen to get pregnant.”
“Wait,” she holds her hand up, “But I’ve been infertile since I was twelve.”
Dr. Gwen smiles, “I don’t think that is always going to be the case now, It’s why I want to do an ultrasound, I think we are going to find that you are not just ovulating but also that your tubes and uterus has grown back. This is a very rare situation. And infertility is no joke and is one of the hardest things I ever have to tell someone they are going to face. I wish I could make it a perfect world and women would never have to be told this but that’s not how the world works. Yet somehow, thanks to you having met your scent matches, your body wants to heal itself. I wish I could give others this good news.”
Aurora nods and wipes her eyes. Dr. Mara looks up at Aurora from her tablet.
“How is this making you feel? I know it’s overwhelming, but we also need to think about your mental health as we go through these stages.”
Aurora nods as she sits for a moment, “I feel scared. I don’t want to hope to much too soon, this is a lot. I had always been told by Dr. Andrews that this wasn’t feasible but suddenly its real. I originally thought this was going to be a fluke and you all was going to tell me it was temporary.”
Dr. Sparks looks up, “No I agree with Dr. Gwen, we need to do blood work and the ultrasound, but I agree that we will most likely see exactly what she says she feels we are going to find. I don’t know about the fertile part. But after reading over your chart and the trauma you went through so young and surviving the car accident the way you did, I have no doubt that you can do this.”
Dr. Gwen looks up at me and Lucian, “I have a ultrasound machine in my truck that I need you both to help me bring in,” she looks over at Dr. Mara, “Can you do her blood draw so I can get it sent to the lab as soon as I get back in town.”
I shook my head and followed the doctor outside to grab the machine.
Lucian and I lifted the machine out of the back of the truck before wheeling it into the house. I stopped suddenly as I examined the scene I had come back to.
Dr. Green, holding a gun shaking, at Aurora as the other doctors lay bleeding on the ground. Both alive but looked like he had shot them with the silencer on in the legs.
She was speaking to him calmly, “Dr. You wouldn’t ever hurt me, you’ve known me forever, this isn’t you.”
He shakes the gun at her and cries, “They took my family and told me that if I didn’t kill you that they would kill them, I can’t lose my family.”
“It’s okay. I understand, but if you let us help you, we can get your family back. I promise Dr. We won’t let anything happen to your family. You just have to trust me and put the gun down. My mates can help you in ways you wouldn’t believe but they won’t help if you hurt me. Please. We also need to get Dr. Mara and Dr. Sparks help. I don’t want you to become a murderer for them. You don’t want that. You can’t let the bad guys win.” She says.
“Swear to me, Aurora, swear that they can save my mate, my children. Swear it.”
I spoke for her, “We swear we will save them just give me the gun, Our brother is upstairs now and he will have them found in minutes, just give me the gun.”
He was trembling and crying as he handed the gun to me before dropping to the ground shaking.
I put the safety on as Dr. Gwen runs to her colleges and starts dressing their wounds.
I pull out my phone and type a message to Nash to get down here with his laptop as I watch Lucian pull Aurora into his arms.
“Seriously, Omega, we can’t even leave a room without trouble finding you.”
She scoffs a laugh before hugging him back and inhaling his scent as he pushed out calming pheromones.
I walked over to Dr. Green as Nash walked in.
“What the hell happened down here?” he asks.
“We had an incident but its fine, I need you to help find this man’s family. The Gravin’s got to him and took his family.”
He nods and sits down with the doctor as I call our security team to send them to whatever location Nash finds out.
I walk back over to Aurora as Dr. Gwen stands up, “Well that was a lot.” She laughs before grabbing what she needed to draw Aurora’s blood since Dr. Mara hadn’t managed to do that before she was injured. Once Dr. Gwen was finished, she labeled the tubes and put them in a biohazard bag and put it in her pocket before having me lift Aurora onto the dining table. Even though they were injured both Dr. Mara and Dr. Sparks stood to the side to see what the screen was showing. She lifted Aurora’s shirt and put some jelly looking stuff on the wand and Aurora’s stomach. She pressed the wand down and images started showing up on the screen. She started muttering to herself and taking random measurements. She narrowed her eyes and growled. “I need to do part of this transvaginal.”
Aurora blushes as the doctor cleans the jelly off of Aurora’s stomach.
“Knight please go grab a blanket.” I quickly grabbed one off the back of the sofa and run it back to the table.
Aurora covers herself and pulls her leggings off handing them to Lucian.
She lifts her knees, and the doctor pulls a long wand from the other side of the ultrasound machine. Covering it with what looks like a condom and more jelly before putting it under the sheet.
I realize what is happening when Aurora winces as the wand is inserted inside of her. The doctor starts pointing at parts on the screen telling us what everything was. There was a random black blimp, and the doctor stopped for a second and looked at the other doctors as they all leaned closer to the screen.
“What?” We all asked as the doctor focused on the black blimp.
The doctor sticks her tongue in her teeth for a moment before she grins, “Well this is Aurora’s uterus. She says pointing at the black place on the screen.
“Okay then what’s that?” I asked pointing at the small dot on the screen on the bottom of the uterus.
“Well that my dear, is a little interloper. But don’t worry in nine months, it will be out and everything will be fine.”
My smile dropped as I locked my eyes with Aurora. Then turned back to the doctor.
“You mean?”
“Yeah, you guys are expecting. Congratulations.”
