Knight


The news hit as breaking news within hours. My knee was bouncing as I watched it all unfold on the big screen in the living room.
I jumped up when Lena walked in the front door carrying a bag of groceries. “Do you need help?”
She smiled at me gratefully, “Yes please.”
I smiled at her and ran outside grabbing half the bags in one wack before going for the last of the bags and laying them all on the counter for her, I then went out for the other household essentials. Laying them on the floor before turning to her.
“Are you okay?” I ask, Leaning on the counter watching as she wiped a hand over her face. Her eyes were tired.
“Yeah, town was hell. I know that what is going on is bringing down all the bad within Gravin, but I’m terrified for my babies.” She laughed, “Sorry, I know I shouldn’t call them that, but they’ve been mine for so long I can’t help but love them as if they are my children.”
I nodded; cause I got it. I honestly was thankful that at least Aurora had Lena and her husband after what we had done to her family, and knowing they had someone who was always in their corner fighting for them, someone who protected them after what we had done. Not many had that. I know we sure as fuck didn’t.
“No its fine, go on. I know we are all worried about the repercussions. But we have a team on their way here to protect the outside of the house at all times, while we will be inside to help protect them too. I know they’ve been your children for so long. But they are now our entire world. It all begins and ends with them. We will never forgive ourselves for the part we had in all the loss that they’ve already had to endure. But I swear to you now Lena, Aurora is our scent match mate. And we will burn the world down for her and Kason.”
She nods her head, “I noticed that her scent is sweeter lately. Almost like her omega is healing itself.”
I nod, “Yeah had noticed a few things but I didn’t want to bring them up to her yet, I didn’t want to get her hopes up.”
She looks over at me before walking up to me and giving me a hug, other than Aurora and Kason, she was the first person to give me this kind of affection since my mother passed away.
I wrapped my arms around her, “Thank you for protecting them, You are the best mother figure I could have ever wanted for the both of them.”
She sniffles against my chest before pulling herself out of my arms, wiping her eyes with a smile, “Lets get these put away before you make me start sobbing.”
I laugh and nod, “Yes ma’am.”
After I was finished helping, she shooed me out of the kitchen so she could get started on dinner. I smiled and walked away heading to find my omega. After everything I was craving a snuggle pile with her and Kason.
I found them curled up in the nest him sleeping beside her while she browsed on her tablet.
I walk up and get on my knees to crawl in beside her, glancing at the screen and frowning as I seen she was looking at nest things.
“Baby, I’m sorry this is all crazy right now. We wanted to take you there in person, so you could find textures and things that soothed your omega.”
She smiled softly at me, “It’s ok.” She shrugged, “My omega and I have been disconnected for so long that I am just happy to find stuff that looks cute.”
I turn her toward me, “Baby, smell me.”
“What? Why? You know my sense of smell sucks, it’s why I didn’t recognize you as my scent match before.”
I look at her, “Baby before the heat you was able to scent us, You craved our scents.”
Her face dropped, “wait what?”
I nodded, “Please just smell me, I want to test my theory.”
She rolled her eyes but sniffed from where she was sitting, suddenly flooding the room with her perfume as her eyes rolled back and a whimper released from her throat.
I grinned, as she opened her eyes. Tears filling them.
“Oh my god, do you know what this means?” She asks.
“I nod, I think we need to see if your doctors would be willing to do a home visit. I think your Omega is trying to heal you.”
“You smell like a freshly cut wood fire with a splash of bourbon.” She looks up at me.
“Baby, listen to me. I think we need to call this in.” She nods as she sits her tablet out of the way and pushes her way into my arms. Slamming her nose against my scent gland, with a small oof of pain before she inhaled my scent.
“I can smell you.” She whispered to herself. I couldn’t help but smile, I hadn’t wanted to believe what I had been noticing but seeing this look on her face. Having her in my arms as she tried to inhale me was worth it.
“oh my god!” she jumps up and exclaims. Looking at me, “Stay with Kason, I’ve got to find Lucian and Nash!”
I laughed at my omega as she dashed out the door of the nest without another word. I crawled over to Kason and pulled his little body to me and held him close. Breathing in his baby scent before drifting off with him in my arms.

Lucian
I lifted the weight in my hand before lowering it back down. I needed to relieve some of this pressure from everything. Knowing that it was all going down. It was out of our hands, and we had to trust that Nash had spread this far enough that it wouldn’t come back and bite us in the ass.
I grinned when I heard Aurora running toward me, I dropped the weight, stepping over it, just as she slammed into the room running at me and jumping in my arms and slamming her nose against my scent gland. Sniffing me.
“Uh babe, What are you doing?” I ask holding her ass in my hands, so I didn’t drop her.
“I can smell you!” she says happily as she takes in a deeper breath and sighing happily. “Oh my god I can smell you! You smell like pine, cypress, and vetiver, oh my god you smell so good! I can smell you. I haven’t been able to smell anyone in years. This is so amazing.” She leaned back and kissed my lips. “I didn’t want to believe it at first, but I can smell! You are really my scent match, and I can smell you.” She leaned back and looked into my eyes, hers shining with tears, “You wasn’t lying to me! You guys are my scent match this hasn’t just been a crazy dream! You really are all mine.”
I smiled sadly at her, “Baby you will never have to doubt us. We would do anything to keep proving to you that you belong with us, to us. That we belong to you forever.”
She nods and smiles as me just as Nash walked into the gym, “What’s going on here? He asks. I laugh as she jumps out of my arms and runs at Nash and climbs him like a monkey. He grins at her just as she slams her nose into his scent gland and breaths deeply.
“Baby, you are scaring me what’s going on?” he asks her as he pets her hair.
She leans back in his arms causing him to drop to the floor and pull her closer to him so she wouldn’t fall.
She smiles dancing in his lap, “I can smell you. You really are not just my mate, your are my scent match, you three are my matches! You smell like a smore to me a hint of chocolate, marshmallow and graham crackers, it smells like you’ve just been roasted over an open fire.” She smiles.
“But I thought you couldn’t smell us?” he asks pushing his glasses up his nose.
“I couldn’t! Knight came to me and asked me to smell him, I didn’t know why but I he apparently suspected this! And he kept mentioning needing to have my doctors come here. But oh my god I can smell you guys. It’s like you are ingrained inside of me now that I know what I am smelling.” Her face like sunshine with the big smile on her face.
Nash pulls his phone out of his back pocket somehow, without dislodging her, and pulls up the number for her doctors and starting calling each one and getting them to agree to come to the house, saying that money wasn’t an issue.
She wiggled out of his arms and crawled back into mine where I had sat on the mat across from them. I wrapped my arms around her tightly.
“I’m so fucking happy for you baby.”
She looks at me with tears in her eyes, “I am so hopeful that this is real and not a fluke.”
I smile at her, “No matter what baby, we will be beside you.”
“They have all agreed to come, they’ll be here tonight, by morning we should know what is going on.”
She smiles over at Nash, “I’m afraid.”
“My badass girl can take on multiple alpha’s to save over sixty omegas but when it comes to seeing and checking on her own health, she’s terrified.” He teases and shakes his head, “Come on baby, lets all go to the nest and take a nap.”
He picks her up out of my arms and carries her out of the gym with me following on their heels. I can’t wait to find out exactly what is going on. And how we can help her elevate any doubts that she has. She’s going to realize really quickly that we had her back rather it was taking on anyone who threatened her, to her health. Our little Omega had us wrapped around her fingers.
