Chapter 16

Vixen in her Father's house. She cannot forget the incidents that just happened and outrageous general Hunter chose to continue to walk around like that in public after snubbing her. Would they be able to take responsibility if everyone began to think something was going on between them.
Vixen knows that it wasn t a very important matter for her to be complaining about or to be angry about, but yet it was rooted in some kind of annoyance in her. Like she was the one playing games and no one was allowed involved in this game.
Anyone but her is supposed to be complaining, she is to be married to a king. She's supposed to be a kIng s bride. When would she let go of this? She thinks to herself, has she enters into the house.
Her stepmother steps right in front of her. She's standing right next to her father. And the moment her father sees her, a smile falls upon his face as he walks closer to her.
There is my daughter. He says.
"Of course." She says as he places a kiss upon her forehead, and she wraps her arms around him, stares at her servants who were right behind her when she came in.
Are you coming back from the king's palace? She asks him.
"Yes." I see you are coming back from going outside to look at the communities in the villages. "I told you not to spend so much time outside you're going to be Queen." It could be dangerous. He says and he looks at Susan who nods her head showing very well that she will protect her
" I've also told that Vixen, she never wants to hear me out. Is it because I did not bore you from my womb vixen? She says and Vixen simply hugs her father when she senses that her stepmother, Benedict is trying to create some kind of motherly environment, victim and self-pity once again but she doesn't even give a crap about what this woman is trying to do.
She hates this woman.
"It seems that the king is giving you too much work to do." The next time I see him I will tell him to reduce the assignments he has given you. Vixen says and Benedict looks at her as she sees that vixen is playing her queen card right.
Oh please do not do that. You know I cannot sit at home all day doing nothing. At least in the castle, I'm glad to be able to share my knowledge every single day. He says as they walk together.
Should we have lunch together? She says and he nods, escorting each other into the dining environments. The dining servants steps into the environment as he began to serve the table and Benedict also walks into dining also. Ever since she married Richard Dounty, he has not once ever looked into her eyes and made her feel like his wife. She has always felt like a nanny.
One was better that society will not criticize me raising a daughter without a mother. She had gotten tired of it fixing on the other and did not make a work any easier. She was spiteful all the way and even if the last time she looked as if she was powerful in front of Vixen, inside the home it is of no use.
This is because Vixen a child who is the jewel of her father's heart and he lets her get away with almost everything making her responsibility a lot more magnanimous that it ought to neither your wife. Although, the public thinks she is the Madame of the estate when it comes to inside of this house.
They thought being able to marry Ricahrd Dounty was the greatest and being a mother to the woman who was going to become queen very soon but she has either of those two.
She sits on the table as they begin to eat and then they begin to eat quietly. Halfway through eating, Vixen begins humming a song that Benedict has has heard Richard sing many times. There is a hard gaze on Benedict's face as she puts the song together. And Richard smiles when he hears vixen humming the song.
" You do not forget your mother singing." He says and she smiles as she sips a glass of water.
" I would never." She sings it to me every time that I cannot fall asleep. Father once I get married you will have to continue to be my father. You understand? She says and he nods to her.
" Of course, I will always be your father." I am like a father to the king to but I will never forget your little one. He says to and she smiles. Benedict's smiles as she listens to them, faking it all as she watches them retreat and she's left at the dining.
" Her plate of soup is not even past a quarter. It has been three years now. Benedict has never really thought of this place has her home. She still felt like a guest. And it was just like yesterday that she walked into this home and had dinner with them." They spoke to each other. He ignored her, even when she smiled spitefully to do conversation about his late wife.
"She was supposed to take on the position; they weren't supposed to bring her up. So casually, they enter and exit out of the situation, but yet it happened even when she tries to gain attention."
"He told her what the situation was going to be before they got married. She still thought that at least it would change" She didn't think he meant what he said. When he said it three years ago, after his wife Elizabeth died, she felt that she finally shared an opportunity to be with a man that he truly loved. But it was all a lie. It was fallacy. She never had a chance. Anything she had she had nothing to begin with. She and Elizabeth were friends for a very long time. ago.
"They did everything together. And when they met to reach Richard, he fell in love with Elizabeth first and never saw her even if he saw her as a friend of Elizabeth." He never saw anything beyond all of that. And to come into this situation where Elizabeth died and she took on the role of her friend, becoming a mother to her friend s daughter.
"Benedict expects him to forget his wife and come into alliance with her, it wasn't going to happen. In three years, this stagnant relationship was all she had. She had practically wasted the life for that but then sometimes it feels as if she's still doing the right thing because no matter how much she didn't see it in his eyes that he loved her, she couldn't assess or watch herself be with someone else."
So, she put up with his displeasure being here, she didn t act as if she was upset, she endured it. Sometimes she has contemplated to leave and start all over again. Her mind would change when sometimes she should walk into the environment and find him all his glory, his handsomeness and uniqueness.
Her heart still catered for him. And it wasn't so easy to cut him out of it. And so if standing up to his terrible daughter who has tremendous hatred for her but will leave him in his presence, she would put up with it.
This was annoying. This was tiring. She has gone through the stages so many times to continue to be hurt by this she was supposed to get used to this abandonment. Benedict knows she has to put up with it. So, the servants who are supposed to clear the table come in and she stands in front of the table in an attempt not to look like the one who is missing out.
Even when she is she steps out of the dining room as she heads out into the other receiving room. From the outside, anyone who was looking would see the house in all of its glory, everyone thinks they are complete even when Vixen s mother has left their lives but she knows that Richard and his daughter are truly complete because it seems to be as if the woman is still right in the midst and have the audacity and might so completely to treat her like she was invisible.
How could they praise someone that was dead? More than sound that was alive? Why did he not see that she was trying every single day to be in their lives?
Yes, she knew he wasn t marrying her for love, only to support and be with his daughter. But yet, why wouldn t he see the beauty that other man fell for, all for his sake, she kept herself, a flower that hasn t been touched.
