Chapter 22

Hunter barges out of the room. He doesn't know what Vixen thinks or what she has on their sleeve to make him bend or break into such rules that she has come up with by herself. She cannot understand what she thinks or what manner of attraction she thinks she has over her. That would make him not be able to think like he's supposed to.
He cannot even believe that he went into the same room with her. It was bad enough that something happened between to do everything that she says or buy her lie that didn t even sound real into. She was causing him more trouble with every passing time and he needed something to do to be able to stop her from gaining such control over him.
It was stupid. It shouldn't have been in such a situation and he agrees. He agrees but it has happened and he cannot take it back. He has to live with it and somehow hide the truth from everyone. But the way she goes on making the situation larger and more stupid than it already is. It makes the situation larger.
He steps away from you re her as he leaves and walks away aggressively along the halls and people who are in his pathway simply clear the way for him. He knows he has some hours to stay on to keep to keep the guards on the right side to protect any problem but he is not in his best mood already and he just wants to get away from him and the moment is about to take another pathway.
Someone bumps his shoulder with him and looks at the person in the eyes. Whoa, you must be General Hunter, nice to meet you. The man says and Hunter is not at all ready to have such conversation with anyone, he is still hoping no one suspects any of whatever is going on as he has come out from the room that Vixen entered. He finds that this is a person from the Arab clan and it should not wave him away so easily.
So, Hunter just shakes his hand that the man extends and acknowledges them.
Oh very nice to meet you.
"I am Lord Nathan." The man says to him and immediately Hunter remembers the name from just a second ago. He heard it when Vixen spoke just a moment ago. And when Nathan tells his identity, there is flash of surprise on his face and Nathan catches it so easily. But then he hides it back.
Nathan. That doesn't sound like a name that you would bear coming from the Arab clan. He says to Nathan, he uses that confusion to pose to the fact that his name did not sound like one which would come from the Arab lord and Nathan can see that general Hunter is a smart one.
Oh yes. "My mother is a Southlander, a very long time ago she fled from our lands to the Arab clan where she married a man. She gave me the name of the name of my Father Nathan. He says and Hunter nods in understanding.
Oh that's lovely. So tell me do you like in the event? Hunter says to him and he looks at him.
Oh yes. Where you leaving? I thought you were in a rush just a moment ago. Nathan says and Hunter looks at Nathan.
"Yes." I was getting tired from the woman who wouldn't leave me alone. He says to Nathan for a good reason, Hunter intentionally brings in the invitation of a woman into question seeing if this Nathan is the one vixen spoke about. A part of him starting to believe her but he doesn't want to push in too far.
"Oh, I see women, talking about women." Have you seen the lady vixen? Nathan asks and Hunter looks at him. Just like that, Hunter knows that It's true.
Everything Vixen said is the bitter truth. And he waits. He waits for Nathan to say the same thing to him but Nathan doesn't bring it.
No, I haven't. Hunter replies.
Really? Nathan says as he finds Vixen coming out from another other pathway and the moment he sees her, Nathan faces Hunter and beckons him to face the area where Vixen is coming from. Hunter turns accordingly and he looks into the direction to find Vixen approaching.
Nathan looks at Hunter s face to see anything that looks like what he wants to see but Hunter doesn't put any manner of confusion. He doesn t make any emotion that would give into the facts of his plots or whatever this is.
You look happy seeing her? Hunter says to Nathan.
How could I be happy? I mean if it were the king, perhaps he'll be happy to see his bride to be. Nathan things around and Hunter nods his head.
Yes you're right! She is to be the king spread after all. Any man would be lucky to have I see. Nathan replies in an answer and Hunter clears his throat.
"If you'll excuse me I have matters to attend to." Hunter cuts the conversation short after and he finds that this is a Nathan isn't pulling any kind of thing to try to get him into that same trap that he has put Vixen in. Is there some reason why Hunter is threatening vixen but not doing the same thing to him?
And just as vixen said, does he really care want to exchange the bead for the truth he knows. What was it about the bead that made Nathan use such an heavy truth to ask for something small in request. He doesn't understand it. There's something quite fishy about the matter and it needs to be broken down but then he will not blow off his position by putting himself out there and know what he doesn't want to know.
Hunter steps away from Nathan and Nathan and he knows that he needs f to see Vixen and fix things, he heads to the garden. It gives himself a moment think now he feels and how she really must have said the truth and he was very irrational. He did not believe what she said because he was so scared for the both of them, he did not care for a word.
So if they were true at all, and now he feels as if he knows he has done something bad. Hunter knows that he needs to get a hold of this before the ball ends. And so he waits at the garden, hoping to catch her when she steps out.
Someone comes out and then he finds it to be Emerald. Hunter recognizes her well enough. He rushes to and before he's about to ask the question, he finds Vixen as she comes out after and Vixen looks at him.
After she looks at any considered she looks at him, there is spiteful written over her face and she's about to walk into the vicinity.
Vixen, I need to speak to you. He says and Emerald looks at her lady immediately. Emerald wonders why Hunter and Vixen are still in talking terms.
Although, this is the last person Vixen wants to speak to right now. She is literally boiling with anger about how he treated at the last time. She doesn't want to see his face but there's a matter at hand that needs to be solved.
Vixen heads over to the garden with him and she faces him.
"Tell me the story again," he says and she looks at him as he comes closer to her.
You want to hear it now? She asks in disbelief, a scorn on her face still.
He nods his head in disagreement.
"Tell me all that he said." Hunter asks.
I've told you already you chose not to believe.
What is going on? What is this beat exactly? He says and she takes a deep breath.
This bead is the reason I live. Vixen whispers as her eyes are out of focus.
How come when I took it from you, you did not die?
"That is the first time I have been away from the bead, I do not have an answer to that explanation but years ago I fell into an accident. I was going to die and a woman came to me gave me this bead and ever since then I was given a new life." Yes, it's it's strange.
You probably cannot believe it. Sometimes I am in disbelief myself but it is not enough to make to me take it off my wrist but for some reason you come into my life. You take it away from me. For goodness sake, Hunter, think about it? I've been running after you for this bead.
"I even tried to seduce you and make you…" She's about to say and she realizes she has spoken too much and he looks at her.
You tried to seduce me? He asks
General Hunter
