Chapter 40

Vixen wants to speak to Hunter. She has a lot to tell him. First of all, shedoesn't even know where to begin, she has to come to a stop since a lot has happened and a lot has been said. By the end of the day, only one thing matters no and that is her freedom, she takes in a deep breath for her. And it feels as if she has never really had a time in her life where she has had to make decisions by herself without any one really coming into it just.It feels good to do something new for a change. And the more she sits in this area of change, she feels as if more would come. So without further ado she gets into our home and the first person she finds standing in front of the house is none other than her step mother.The woman has anxiety and worry written on every corner of her face and Vixen can tell that the woman is really worried about her. Not the kind of worry that comes with pretense or the one that comes with just a form of pretentious behavior. But she can see it and she doesn't need to try to understand it.Anne runs towards her and hugs her immediately as she thanks heaven under her breath for the safety of Vixen whom she thought she would lose. The feeling of losing the girl to something as a forced marriage is something that makes her heart tear apart.Vixen wants to wrap a hug around the woman's back. But there's a form of feeling that if she does, she would be forgetting her poor mother forever. So she takes a good breath of fresh air before she begins to go through that stage of thinking once again and saves the memory.Richard watches them as he enters into the house and a smile forms on his face as he looks at their reunion. Hannah leads her up into our room where Emerald and Susan are waiting for her.They rush towards and Emerald is the first person to hug her before Susan can and after that find that there's something different about Susan's poise like she feels guilty for something.What happened? Vixen asks and Susan looks at her and steps in as she chooses to reply the matter. And she looks at Susan who looks like she is guilty for doing something that she was about to do." She wanted to come to the castle and threaten our way in." Anne says and Vixen looks at her Susan.That would have been stupid for you to do. Vixen says and Susan nods her head in agreement but at the end of the day Vixen has a warm place for her friend in her heart.Did you not think of what I would go through if any harm were to come towards you? Vixen asks and Anne watches the girls.What did you like to have for dinner Vixen? Anne asks her and Vixen faces her step mother."Everything in anything." Vixen says and Anne excuses herself out of the room. When Anne closes the door of Vixen's room, she finds Richard, standing at a corner of the hall, and she smiles as she walks towards him."Thank you for bringing her home safe and sound." Anne says as she walks towards the man and he smiles as in places both of his hands behind his back and they began to leave the hall way."I did not have to do anything." Vixen spoke to the King herself. Richard says as she looks at him and nods his head in agreement." Wow, I cannot believe that the King would listen to her…I thought if he wouldn't let her even as a last resort it was going to do was let's fix it away from us." And yet what exactly did she say to him. Anne asks."I have no idea but what I know is that I owe my daughter such an apology, I cannot even begin to explain how I feel about the fact that she was stuck in an alliance that she did not care for. " I have been too blind, trying to secure an alliance that would guarantee her success. As I fail to see she was really interested in it."She never told me if she wanted to be in this alliance and I never want once asked for either.Richard, it is fine. At the end of the day you chose to stand behind her and Vixen will be grateful for that at the end of the day, not every parent can remove their hand from an alliance that will make them relatives to the king. Vixen would see that you are not greedy, but you have been doing it for her best interest.She is a wise girl and I am sure she knows that. Anne says and he smiles as he looks at her for longer.Well. We have not had time to talk about us. Richard says as he draws closer to her.It is true. They haven't had time to really speak about the occurrence that happened between them. I guess all I want to do is apologize to you. I married you for the sake of my daughter's upbringing.And I have failed to perform my husbandly duties but I assure you from now on, you will not have to ask me. He says to her she cannot help blush at the words that he made to sound like an honorable thing to say but at the end of the sentence, it causes a need for heat to rise between our cheeks.Right, she says to him, and he bends to take a hold of her hand and she watches as he does so, so graceful and enviable.Shall we? He says to her and she looks at Vixen's room door."I was about to bring vixen dinner." Anne says."The servants will do that, Hannah." As much as I would love to perform my husbandly duties, you have to make yourself available. He says as she cannot help but plant a very wide smile on her face as she realizes what his intentions her.My Lord, she says as he places a finger on her chin as he has that she's about to call him what she has been calling them all of these years.Please, Hannah. It's Richard. Okay? He says to her as he steps closer to and places his lips on her lips and leaves her body trembling with something called passion.So they excuse each other to their room where behind closed doors, something unimaginable is happening.Whereby, Vixen lays on her bed and closes her eyes to invite sleep. But she cannot help but redeem herself back to from Hunter and wonders if there is literally nothing in between them any longer. She doesn't have any reason to pay allegiance to the king's family or whatsoever.Lord Nathan has no idea whatsoever. She thinks she takes a look at her bead, and touches the pebbles as she looks at it. She can't help but think and try to understand what Nathan knows about the bead and what he wants from it, why does he want it so bad?Yes, this ring gives her life but no one knows this apart from and yet there is a man alive that knows about it. And for him to threaten her as a way to collect a ring from her, it is weird. But at least now she doesn't have to be scared of his threat any longer.His threat was of no use to now that she and Hunter came up with a solution. And at the end of the day they were able to solve the matter that looked like it's never going to be solved. Like everything they thought, she was never going to take root by the end of the day. It has been solved.There was nothing holding her or stopping her from pursuing the undying feelings that he grazed her body with each and every time. She did not need a few days to think of what she felt cause it never left at the end of the day.And now she can move into the next aspect of life because now there was no one in between them and she could take forever to determine what she really feels for Hunter. At his moment, she lays in bed and he is the person she wants to see.No, she isn't ready to let go of all the moments that have shared with each other. In fact, she's looking forward to another moment and the only question that really runs in her mind is if he thinks the same thing too. Does his heart burn for her in the same way that hers burn?
