Chapter 33

Vixen barges into the castle when she has heard of what is going on. If Hunter is anywhere attached in this mess, she simply wants to make it known that he is not the only one who is to be blamed. She's actually equally to be blamed for whatever they were going to accuse him of. And she will not let him take all the blame so easily.
She thought of the day before today in the time when she saw how David who was with Hunter tried to hurt him, the general had to do to set him straight with a punch and she also knew that David was not going to back down so easily.
And if he is standing on David's bad side it was going to involve the Queen and that is a woman is not to be messed with, Vixen knows how she is in for the protection and the mindset that David has literally been giving her making it seem like she was too good for the role he was allowing her to play when it comes to the Queen the way guys she would not be so easy to roam about the way she has been.
She knows what the Queen Dowager is really capable of and she doesn't want to be anywhere it. Yet, as she enters into the castle, the servants recognize her so easily and she doesn't have to be stopped from entering into anywhere. It is until she gets into the king's courtroom that the guards standing at the door stop her from entering in.
I have to enter in. "I have to speak with the king." Vixen says but they did not allow her passage and she closes her eyes as she squeezes our palms and Susan which is a second hand at her right beside? Vixen moves closer to the door and hits the door with her fist in order to cause awareness to whatever is going on inside the room.
"Your Majesty, it is Vixen and I'm here to speak to you." She says she increases her voice and waits for a reply.
"Let her in." The king says and the door is widely open as she enters into the room and her warrior attendant, Susan follows her. The moment she enters into the room she finds her father, the Queen and general Hunter into in the room and they all turn to her after Vixen looks at each and every one of them. Vixen says as she finds her father in shock of the season. The next person she gazes at intensely is Hunter and she finds that there is a sharp cut on his face and she rushes to him without even realizing it. And she stands in front of him almost touching his cheeks until she realizes the presence them around her.
Audacious! The queen dowager says before she can touch his face and she faces the woman. What do you think you doing? How dare you break the alliance!?
And you, Hunter? What did you say? That you are not in any way trying to stop the marriage but yet it's so clear that the both of you have something going on already. She says and Vixen faces the queen Dowager and Vixen wonders what he has said to them before her presence before she says something that will perhaps counter fit what it is that he has already put out there.
This marriage problem is between me and the queen. And queen dowager, as much as I respect your authority. Vixen is not done speaking when she the queen interrupts.
Do you even respect my authority Vixen? She says and Vixen looks at her.
"Of course I do." What else do you think I'm here for? Vixen says and her father places his hand on his forehead as he tries to understand the whole situation.
"You and my son have been be through so much together for so many years." You never once, not one spoke about the fact that you wanted to end your lines. Now all of a sudden you're calling off the alliance. And you're not just calling up the alliance but I find that you are in somewhat. What is this that my son speaks of about this suspected relationship with no other than his half brother, hunter?
The one who has just recently arrived upon our soil. What kind of joke is this? What kind of woman are you Vixen?
And is that such a crime? Vixen says and Hunter looks at her. Hunter wants to stop her from speaking but this is something she has wanted to see if we're very long term. He would not be able to stop her from speaking and she has not done anything but spoken the truth.
Am I supposed to continue to lie, to lie that there is affection between me and King when I know that I've only been doing this for the sake of duty only? "Yes, Queen dowager, you may think of me as your worst enemy. Perhaps, I am all you think I am. "You think I am incapable and audacious enough to not think about my responsibility and yet have a fleeting or whatever the king must have told about I and general Hunter."
The Queen dowager steps down from the footstool as she walks towards Vixen.
You do not even realize how lucky you are! "A girl like you married to my son. It's such an honor. That is vast monument and if you did not realize that and yet, you choose to think you can end the alliance after all the love the king has shown you all these years."
" Like I said earlier, this is between me and David. Just like a normal couple neither of you should be brought into this to tell me what I decide." And the fact that you are using duty, of all of these things or you are trying to make me feel inferior to him because I do not want to say yes, to inclined myself to him makes me think that you are even way more terrible than I thought. She says and her father looks at her.
" Vixen, watch your words." You're speaking to the Queen dowager.
And then you said, you treated me like a daughter? If your daughter was not in love with the man that she was supposed to marry would you...would you let her into such an alliance? Father, you yourself are not supposed to speak. For many years you have made me do something I never want to do. I've always said yes to you.
" I've always done everything you wanted but I cannot give you my life. anymore." It is not yours to toy with. I have no control over your life. You've married a new wife after my mother died and yet I cannot make decisions for myself. No one should come in between what I decide. She says and he begins to walks towards her.
" Vixen, you're confused." The king says and he stands in front of her. Perhaps, I've never asked you what you felt towards me. And that is because I know that parts of your dreams are freedom. And yes, I blame myself I was perhaps too scared to know what your through had thought about when it came to our marriage. "But I do know that we share something." We have been together for so many years you have advised me on so many things I've been watching your time of sadness.
Surely, do not think that is too long enough to form a relationship that will last forever. He says to her and she raises her head up to meet him.
" I don t think so."
" I can t believe that you say that to me." The king s voice increases.
We've shared such an alliance for so many years and I have found you in close communications with no other than my brother whom you have just met a few days. Does that make sense? Vixen closes her eyes but before she takes a deep breath too.
Close communication!? You capture Hunter because of some proof that you did not have. Listen to yourself? It doesn't make sense, it doesn't make sense because in this friendship or relationship that you call it to be. Yet, all I've been doing is giving and giving. I have nothing to give anymore. In the mere time that I've spent with Hunter, I've recognized freedom. I never knew which I wanted it so badly that I never even knew what it felt like. Not once did I realize that freedom was something I could have.
I thought I've made too many connections. Too many promises to break away but with just a few conversations and he asked me, why was I marrying you when I did not love you? And I thought about it myself.
"Once again I'm giving myself to you for no reason." Perhaps, you love me and cherish me but I cannot give myself to you without receiving anything in return. Love is sacrificed without wanting anything in return but all you have done is demanded and kept demanding from me.
"I cannot give you any more. David." I end this alliance right now and in this right moment no one should have a counterfeit saying to what I'm saying. Vixen says and the Queen dowager walks towards her.
"You are right." Several times, I've told my son to end this marriage because you're incapable of learning the ways of royalty.
Enough, mother please shut up! I'm speaking to Vixen. The king says as he screams at the queen mother and Vixen steps back when she hears the anger in his voice.
"Vixen, you do not mean what you say." He says as he walks closer to and reach her and he is about to step in to protect his daughter. Hunter is quite fast as he places his hand on Vixen s shoulder who pushes her behind and stands in front of David so that David can speak to him.
