Chapter 13

Avery

She smiled her fake smile and led me over to my desk. She handed me some documents. I took it and thanked her. I took my seat and got started. While going through the documents, I heard someone tapping my desk. I looked up and found a girl standing there.

“ Hi my name is Suzanne, I'm an intern. What's your name?”.

“ Avery”

“ All the women are in a serious uproar including the manager Jade. Everyone is trying to see Mr Woods. I can't believe they're acting like that”. She said smiling.

“ Well to each his own ”, I said smiling

We continued working until it was lunch hours. Suzanne was hilarious and funny. She dragged me with her to lunch at a cafe opposite. We were sitting in a Cafe facing the company when I saw the bike riding into the private Garage followed by the SUV. Guess he just came to work.

I ate while chatting with Suzanne. We headed back to work minutes to One. We worked and chatted throughout the day until it was quitting time. I said goodbye to her in the garage and left . Once in the car , I checked my phone. No calls or messages. I guess that was the end.

When I got home that afternoon my father was waiting for me.

“ I heard Mr Woods is in Brighton. Did you see him?”.

“ No dad I didn't. If I do you'll be the first person to know ”,.

He just stood there smiling. The remainder of the week I went to work and back home, there were no calls or messages from him and that just cemented it for me. I made the wrong decision. Alexis and Renee were extremely quiet and I haven't seen much of them all week. Which told me trouble was coming to me.

The following week before I went to work. I turned the phone off and left it in the car. Also with the laptop. I took the chain and bracelet off and left it in a Jewelry box in the car.. I parked the car and put the keys in an envelope and put it in my bag.

When I walked out into the department on Monday morning, everyone was smiling. I just greeted them and took my seat and went to work.

“ Hey ,are you okay?”,. Suzanne said, tapping my hands.

“ Yes I'm fine, I just had a rough night “

“ Okay. So I guess you don't know. Jad went up to meet Mr Woods and she came back with hickeys, that's what they were talking about. She's not shy about showing it off “. She said quietly.

I felt gutted and betrayed. No wonder he never called or texted.

“ Oh ,Then good for her”, I said, keeping my voice low and normal. I continued working throughout the morning,it was close to lunch when Shawn walked into the department. I didn't look at him.

“ Shawn What can I do for you?” Jade asked, walking over to him.

“ I'm actually here for Avery. Avery can you follow me , there's something we need to discuss ”,

“ Of course Mr Allen ”, I stood up and walked over to him. He opened the door for me , I walked out into the hallway and stood there.

“ What can I do for you Mr Allen “

“ He's calling your phone and it's turned off. He wants to see you ”, he said looking at me. I just nodded.

“ I'll meet him at the end of the day “. I said walking back into the department not giving him a chance to say anything else.

I went to lunch with Suzanne and the others. We had just returned when I saw a note on my desk. I dropped my bag on it hoping no one saw it.

I sat down and picked it up. All it said was .

“ My Office Now”. Why does he need me? I crushed the note and stood up.

“ Jade please excuse me, Mr Allen wishes to see me “.

“ Sure go ahead ”, she said looking into her phone at her stomach that was covered in love bites. I walked out and headed down in the elevator. I walked the short distance over to the private Garage.

“ Ms Avery ”, Landon said, pressing the elevator button for me. I nodded at him. When I stepped out of the elevator , I knocked on the door and it was instantly thrown open and he was standing there. He grabbed me, pulling me into the office. The minute the door was closed his mouth was on me but I didn't return his kiss.

He pulled away and looked at me.
“ What happened?” , he asked me.

“ This isn't going to work between us, You should let me go and be with someone else that's of the same background as you ”, I said the words burning my tongue as it left my mouth.

“ What the fuck did you just say?”, he said, grabbing me by my throat.

Jake

I didn't call her because I was waiting for her to call me , I was waiting for her to give me shit for not contacting her which was what girls her age did but she didn't. We still don't know Who it was that found out and posted it online and now that the employees knew they were trying to meet me.

I figured I'd give her space because Shawn said she had a lot of work and it was my business after all. But when Landon Told me this morning that he saw her take the bracelet and necklace off and put the keys in an envelope I knew what was happening. She didn't come when I sent Shawn for her and I knew she was pissed and acting out.

I didn't hear her clearly,did she really just say I should let her go. I let go of her neck and caressed her face.

“ Did you touch her the way you touched me?”That question was so quiet. Who the Fuck did I touch besides her.

“ Princess, What do you mean?, Touch who?”.

“ Jade?”.

Now I was confused. Who the fuck was Jade?.

“ Princess since I returned to Ryedale you're the only one I've touched “.

“ Then why did she say that?, why did she say she met you and why the fuck does She have love bites all over her after leaving your office”, she yelled,as she pushed me away.

Okay my princess was fucking pissed.

“ Baby,no one but you, Shawn and Landon has ever stepped into this office. What did you say her name was?”.

No answer
“ Avery?”.

“ Jade ,the manager in the finance department “. She said quietly. I walked over to my desk and grabbed the phone.

“ Shawn,Get up here now”.

I stood looking at her. Five minutes later the door opened and he walked in. I guess he saw the look on my face and her not saying anything or looking at me.

“ What happened?”.

“ Who the fuck is Jade and why is She going around saying she met me and I touched her?”.

“ What the fuck. No one but Avery has ever been in here except me and Landon. Avery is that what she's saying?”.

“ Yes ”.,

“ It's not true. I'll handle this”, he said walking out. I walked over to the door and locked it. I grabbed her, making her face me.

“ I said you were mine and I was yours. I waited for you to call me or text but you didn't princess. I waited for you to barge in here and yell at me for not calling or texting you but you didn't. Do you really believe you're not worthy of being with me?”.

“ Yes ”,.

Fuck, I pulled her into me and just held her. She started crying.

“ Princess you have me and there's nothing and no one that could ever change that. I've swear baby,please don't cry “.

“ I'm sorry, I… I thought maybe you were tired of me and you realized I wasn't Worth it ”, she said through tears. Fuck. I pulled away and looked at her.

“ That's Not happening princess ever. I told you, you're never getting a chance to leave me and I mean it. Listen to me Avery,no matter what happens or what is said, I will always want you, always, is that understood princess?”.

She nodded yes.

“ Good ,now stop crying please. I want to kiss you and I can't if you're crying”.

She stopped and just looked at me
“ Come here baby ”, I pulled her into me and took her mouth. My tongue invading her mouth,she grabbed into me and moaned into my mouth.

“ Fuck , I missed you baby girl “. I fisted her hair and she grabbed onto me tighter.

“ Jake”.

“ Hmmm”

“ I have to get back to work”, she said into my mouth.

“ Come to me tonight, I'll meet you at the beach “. I said, burying my face into the crook of her neck. She smelled the same.

“ Okay”.
